Chapter 82
Sweet Submission: Reclaiming Her Love
Chapter 82 Drug The meal stirred up a whirlwind of thoughts for everyone present.
Corynn excused herself to the restroom, with Lillian trailing closely behind, brimming with curiosity.
Once Corynn left, Elliot grew restless and soon followed suit.
Morris attempted to console Amanda by saying, âTry not to dwell too much. You canât force people to feel a certain way.â
Morris had long suspected Elliotâs lack of genuine feelings for Amanda. Otherwise, they would have been married by now.
Thus, Elliotâs suggestion to call off the engagement didnât come as a surprise to him.
However, Amanda saw things differently.
âYou believe emotions canât be coerced? But isnât that precisely what heâs attempting?â Amanda shot back with frustration evident in her voice as she drained her glass.
âOh, is that how you see it?â Morris was uncomfortable with her distress, so he made an excuse to leave as well.
Left alone in the room, Amanda wiped angrily at the wine stain on her lips, retrieving a vial of Bad Blood from her bag and adding a drop into Elliotâs wine glass.
Elliotâs actions had driven her to this point.
Her days spent following him around werenât in vain. She was merely testing the waters.
If Elliot could be so callous for Corynnâs sake, then Amanda saw no reason to hold back.
Glancing toward the door, Amanda added a drop of Bad Blood to Corynnâs glass, her expression icy.
While her aim was to manipulate Elliot completely, she also harbored intentions to sabotage Corynn.
With her phone in hand, Amanda arranged for a few men to wait outside the hotel.
She then waited in silence for the others to return.
In the hotel restroom, Lillian playfully tapped Corynn on the shoulder. âThat man seems quite taken with you. His gaze was fixated on you,â she said.
Corynn wore a wry smile. âIâm not interested. Besides, his stare makes me uneasy.â
Elliotâs involvement always seemed to bring trouble, and Amandaâs glare was nothing short of lethal.
âBut heâs quite attractive. Are you certain you donât want to give him a chance? I bet heâs skilled in more ways than one,â Lillian bantered.
13:00 < Chapter 82 Drug âUh... No, thanks. Iâm already seeing someone,â Corynn responded, tossing the used paper towel into the bin.
âI genuinely believe heâs interested in you,â Lillian persisted softly.
âFeelings canât be forced. I donât share his sentiments, so his affection for me would only burden us both,â Corynn clarified.
Lillian sighed wistfully. âI had hoped there might be a spark between you two.â
Corynn simply smiled and said, âWe should head back.â
Upon their return to the private room, Elliot and Morris awaited.
Morris had anticipated Elliot offering solace to Amanda. Instead, Elliot bluntly proposed compensation, suggesting transferring all profits from a particular project to Amandaâs family.
Amanda remained silent, her eyes brimming with tears.
Grabbing her bag, she made for the door but hesitated upon seeing Corynn.
Wiping her tears away, she put on a brave front. âFine, Iâll accept your compensation, but on one condition.â
Elliot nodded. âWhat is it?â
âMy birthday is in two weeks. No matter how busy you are, you must attend in the attire I choose. Otherwise, I wonât agree to call off the engagement!â Amanda declared.
Attending a birthday celebration was a simple request, one Elliot had no reason to decline. âAlright, I can agree to that.â
With that, she felt a semblance of relief and regarded Corynn with less animosity.
