Rewrite and Spin-Off
Dark Forest (Watty's 2017)
Happy July, lovelies!
It's been a bit, hasn't it? Unfortunately, I had to step away from writing for a while due to some personal things but I'm trying to get back into the swing of things...and I just can't let this story go!
I sent it away to a few agents. No bites, but did get some helpful feedback. I think this story has a lot of potential and, after reading through all your comments, it seems you all think it does too! The most common feedback I got was that the story was very promising, but there was trouble connecting to the writing and emotionally connecting to the characters.
That being said, Zara and Ronan are currently in character rehab while I flesh out their backgrounds and profiles lol.
This story still seems to be getting a lot of hits so I'm asking for feedback from readers yet again! I have 13 questions below that could use some answers...or just tell me what you liked or what you would change! I know A LOT of people were rooting for Ardon to be a mate/love interest instead of a relative. Is that something that would amp up the story for you? Or do you prefer Ronan as the primary love interest?
Give me all your honest thoughts and opinions!
I owe you all so much! Thank you for making me believe in this story!
Now...as for the spin-off-- Silas anyone? ;) I think he deserves it. What would you love to see in a spin off?
If you want more direct questions to answer, pick some from below. Or just send me your thoughts!
1. Did the story hold your interest from the very beginning? If not, why not?
2. Did the setting interest you and did the descriptions seem vivid and real to you?
3. Were there any parts that confused you? Or even frustrated or annoyed you? Which parts, and why?
4. Did you notice any discrepancies or inconsistencies in time sequences, places, character details, or other details?
5. If you had to choose, which character would get more screen time?
6. Were the characters believable? Are there any characters you think could be made more interesting or more likable?
7. Was there enough conflict, tension, and intrigue to keep your interest?
8. What scene do you remember the most?
9. When did your emotions hurt the most?
10. What was your immediate thought upon finishing? Was the ending satisfying? Believable?
11. Was there a point at which you felt the story lagged or you became less than excited about finding out what was going to happen next? Where, exactly? If you had to get rid of a character, who would it be and why?
12. What scenes felt emotionally detached?
13. Where does the voice seem bland or generic?
