Chapter 43

Alexandra's POV

"Brandon you look tired. Is everything okay?"

"Yes sweetheart. You don't have to worry about anything." He hugged me.

"Brandon you have to share everything with me. I need to know." I cupped his face.

"Let's not think about anything right now. I want to hold you and forget about our problems for a while." He said looking intestines into my eyes.

"Okay. Come." I guided him towards our bed and he laid his back on the head board. I laid between his legs my back to his chest.

I hissed because my back was still not completely healed.

"Are you okay sweetheart?" He asked alerted.

"Yes I'm fine." He played with my hair and I closed my eyes.

"Alexa. I want to be the one to hold all the worries. You don't have to worry about anything okay? You're the queen you'll worry about our people only. I want you to go to town tomorrow. I heard what you did to Codie. It was amazing from your part. And that's the only duty you'll do. Other than that I'll take all the responsibilities. Okay sweetheart?"

"Okay. I'll be more than happy to go to town. But other towns need to be checked on. Oh and by the way what happened to the orphanage?"

"How did you know?" He asked.

"Well. I know everything." I smirked. He rolled his eyes.

"All the money we got for our wedding was donated to them. We have to visit the children soon together. I used to go there everyday. I must go at least 3 days a week."

"Let's go tomorrow I miss Aurora. That girl will be trouble when grows up." I laughed.

"She's so cute. I hope we'll have a girl like her." I blushed at that.

"We're still young there's time." I said.

"Yeah. But eventually we'll have children running around the castle. Mini me and mini you." He smirked.

"How many children do you want?" I asked teasingly.

"I want five." I gasped.

"What? Hell no." His face fell.

"Why not?" He faked his hurt face.

"Because it's not easy giving birth." I rolled my eyes.

"You'll have to cope." He kissed my hair.

"You're unbelievable."

"And you're so beautiful. And I want you now." I giggled.

"You're ready your highness ." Laura said.

"Thank you Laura. I really appreciate your help." I smiled at her.

"It's a blessing to be able to help a queen." She chuckled. I laughed.

"Bye." I said and left to see Conor waiting for me.

"Good morning Conor." I said with a big smile on my face.

"Good morning your highness. Ready to go?" He asked.

"Yes I'm ready." He followed me to the carriage.

10 minutes later we were at the town. Because of last incident Brandon has doubled the guards with me and He threatened them that if I don't go back in one piece, they'll be cut in pieces. I grimaced at the memory. I don't want to even imagine their- ok stop Alex. That's disgusting.

"I want to visit Codie first." I told Conor and he nodded.

We stopped in front of her house and I got out. Conor came down.

"Royal carriage! Her highness queen Alexa is here." He said in a loud voice.

10 seconds later the door opened and a grinning Codie was standing at the door. Well I suppose it is instead of knocking. Brandon loved the attention so he made Conor do that. Lots of house doors has been opened and they were all looking and shouting 'long live the queen.'

"Your highness!" She squealed.

"Codie." I hugged her tight.

"Mom it's the queen." Codie yelled.

"Let's go inside."

"Of course come in." She beamed. I entered her house. It was much better than before. I asked Lea if we could dix Codie's house and she gladly accepted.

A middle aged woman was laying on the bed inside. But she looks so much better. Her face wasn't pale anymore and full of life.

"Hello." I said entering her room.

"Your highness." She gasped and tried to stand up.

"Don't please. You should rest."

"I'm sorry we didn't know you're coming."

"Well I came for two reasons. One Codie is coming to work at the castle. And two I just wanted to check up on you."

"What? I'll work again at the castle." She was like a little kid jumping happily.

"Yes Codie. I'm the queen. I hire whoever I want." I smirked and they both laughed.

"Thank you your highness." She bowed.

"You are welcome. I must get going I have more visits to make. It was nice seeing you both." I smiled at them and Codie escorted me out.

Next destination is the most poor place in the town. And by poor I mean those who have enough food and clothes. Uncle Ace made sure that no one was left hungry in this kingdom.

"Are you sure you want to come to this part of the town?"

"Yes Conor I'm sure. Maybe they have something they want or need. I'm here to hear them." I left the carriage and walked on the streets with 10 guards and Conor.

"Your highness." They all said and bowed. I smiled at them.

"I'm here to see if you need anything." I said with a confident voice. They all shook their heads.

"Your highness!" Someone shouted. I turned around to see a little boy.

"Yes?" I crouched to his height.

"Mommy needs something." He said widening his big blue eyes.

"What is your name?" I asked him.

"Aaron." He said.

"Hello Aaron. Where's your mommy?" I asked him. His face broke into a huge smile and took my hand guiding me to where his mom should be.

Aaron stopped in front of a graveyard. And looked at me.

"Is your mommy here?" I asked him.

He only took my hand again and we entered it. There was plenty of graves. We stopped in front of one of them and he sat next to it.

"Mommy needs company and some flowers." He said with sad eyes. "She's alone in there." He pointed to the floor. My eyes were teary but I instantly wiped the tears.

"So you want me to talk to your mommy a bit so she won't be lonely?" He nodded eager.

"Hey Aaron's mommy. Your son has the most beautiful blue eyes. I guess like yours."

"Yes! Mommy had the most beautiful eyes." He giggled. "See mommy? The queen in here for you. You're important!!" He jumped up and down.

"Yes she is Aaron. Now tell me about her a bit."

"She was so beautiful. Her and daddy were madly in love they would kiss when I'm not looking but I caught them." He laughed.

"Where's your father?" I asked him.

"My daddy is a warrior." He stated proudly. "He's training to become stronger. That's what he told me."

"Oh really? How old are you Aaron?"

"I'm 7." He said showing me 7 fingers.

"My sisters are 7 too. They are twins."

"Really? Can I meet them?" He asked eagerly.

"Of course. Let's go." I hold his tiny hand."

"Wait!" I looked at him confused and he walked towards his mother's gravestone and kissed it. "Bye mommy. I love you. Stay safe."

A lone tear escaped my eye but I wiped it instantly not wanting him to see it.

"Bye Aaron's mommy." I said not knowing her name.

"Let's go now." He said and held my hand again.

We walked back towards the carriage.

"Conor. I want bouquets of flower on her grave twice a week."

"Yes your highness. As you wish." He said.

"Let's go now."

"We'll come visit mommy again together right? She was happy with the company."

"Ok course sweetie. We'll come again."
