Chapter 44

Her king

Alexandra's POV

"Where to now your highness?" Conor asked.

"Now we go to the orphanage." I said.

"Okay." He replied and we headed towards the orphanage.

Once we arrived I got out of the carriage and brought Aaron with me. He could play with the kids a bit.

"Where are we?" He asked me.

"We're here to see more children. You'll get to play with them too." I said with a big smile. He mirrored my smile and his eyes shone.

"This way your highness." Conor said. We entered the orphanage and were greeted by the woman that I still don't know her name.

"Hello your highness." She bowed.

"Hello. I'm here to see the kids." I said.

"Yes of course follow me." I knew my way around here well but I let her guide me.

"Here are the kids." She pointed at the running adorable kids. "Children. The queen is here." They all turned to look at me and smiles were thrown my way.

"Alex!" Aurora ran to me and hugged my legs.

"Hello Aurora." I hugged her back. "This is Aaron. He's here to play with you all. Don't make him sad." I told her.

"Come." She screamed and ran to the other kids. Aaron looked at me and I nodded knowing what he wants. He soon followed her and the kids turned their attention to him greeting him.

Such pure souls. I can't believe their parents would abandon them. Poor kids they have sl*ts as mothers. Ace really did great when he built this orphanage. I wonder what these kids would have done without it.

"Did you get the money?" I asked the lady.

"Yes your highness. Thank you. And thank King Brandon for me. We were able to get all what the kids need because of you." She smiled warmly at me.

"Great. If you need anything else don't hesitate to ask. Those kids are the future of the kingdom." I told her and she nodded.

I sat on a bench and watched the kids. They ran around screaming and playing together. Imagine the world was like this playground. It would have been full of pure souls. We would be living in peace all together. But no. The world is an evil place full of evil people.

Aaron ran after Aurora to catch her. She squealed and ran faster. But still he caught her. Then he went to run after another boy.

I watched the kids for 2 hours enjoying their presence and forgetting the problems that were waiting for me outside.

"Aaron." He turned to me. "We're leaving sweetie. Wanna come?" He nodded and came to me taking my hand.

"Bye Aurora. Bye everyone!" He yelled and looked at me again.

"Bye Aaron." They all screamed and resumed playing.

"Are we going to see daddy?" Aaron asked me with hopeful eyes.

"Yes we are." He squealed and ran to the carriage. I followed him laughing. "Conor we are going to where the warriors train." I told him.

I was exhausted but the look in Aaron eyes was enough to pull me to go there. And I knew that Brandon would be there. I missed him. I didn't see him in the morning because he left very early. And I was tired from yesterday night. I blushed at the memory.

15 minutes later we arrived to a huge clearing spot surrounded by trees. Lots of warriors were training. They weren't wearing a shirt. We could here the clacking of the swords.

I got off the carriage with Aaron and saw Brandon fighting someone. Naked. Just his chest was naked. I watched his muscles bulging as he was easily beating his opponent.

"You should focus more." He said in a cold voice. A shiver ran down my spine at his voice. He was hot when he's all serious and the 8 packs on full display.

"Yes your highness." He said and Brandon helped him to get up.

"Warriors! Forget your emotions when you're battling. Whoever was in front of you. Don't be afraid. Remember your training. Remember for who you are fighting. You're the strongest of all the kingdoms. You may carry on training." He said in a strong voice. His face was emotionless but his eyes were shining with proud.

"That's daddy!" Aaron exclaimed earning Brandon's attention.

Brandon smirked when he saw me drooling at him. I immediately straightened my posture and cleared my throat. He approached us not breaking the eye contact.

"What is my queen doing here?" He asked grabbing me by the waist. I blushed.

"Uhm.. we're here to see Aaron's father." Brandon then noticed Aaron next to me and his eyes softened a bit.

"Hello young man." Brandon said.

"Hello your highness." He bowed. That was the cutest gesture.

"You can go to your dad. Tell him I gave him a break." He nodded and ran to his father who seemed surprised to see Aaron. He looked at us and Brandon gave him a sharp nod. He grabbed his son and went to sit aside.

"I missed you." He whispered in my ear.

"I missed you too." I hugged him.

"How was your tour?" He asked.

"Good. I saw Codie and told her about working in the castle. Her mother is better now-thankfully. Then I went to the poor part of the town. No one seems to have a problem and then I met Aaron. We went together to the orphanage and he played with the kids a bit. I watched them. And here I am." He listened to me rambling about my day.

"Good then. You had some fun."

"Yes I did."

"You still didn't eat did you?" I looked at the floor.

"No." I whispered. He glared at me but I smiled sheepishly.

"We're going straight to the castle after here. I'll eat something there."

"You better eat." He rolled his eyes. I ignored the topic.

"When are you coming back?"

"In two hours sweetheart. When the training is done I'll go directly to you." He winked.

"Great I'll be waiting." I said seductively. He kissed my cheek.

"I gotta go. Love you." He said in my ear.

"Okay. Love you too."
