Chapter 1059 They Became So Distant His eyes were suddenly gloomy when he saw the incoming call on the screen.

He stared at Kisa’s name for a few seconds before he threw his phone aside. He did not plan to answer her call.

But, when the ringtone almost ended, he suddenly picked up his phone. He then used his thumb to press the accept button.

However, he did not speak after the call was connected.

It was Kisa who initiated the conversation.

“Why… did you call me?”

Gilbert felt inexplicably angry.

He lightly said, “Nothing. I pressed it by accident.”

“I see… H-How are you? How’s your trip?”

“I’m fine.”

Kisa grabbed her phone tightly. During this conversation, she felt extremely estranged from him. She felt so estranged that she was a little upset.

She bit her lip. She could not help but explain to him, “Actually, regarding that contract, I…”

“It’s fine. I’ll end the call if there’s nothing else!”

Gilbert wanted to end the conversation.

Kisa pursed her lips. She said, “Okay. I’ll let you get on with your work.”

Gilbert quickly ended the call.

Kisa stared blankly at the dark sky outside her window. She was not sure how she felt..

Gilbert threw his phone aside. He felt more annoyed after he accepted the call.

At the same time, he secretly scolded himself for being weak. He had already made up his mind to ignore Kisa and not pick up her call anymore.

But, he could not resist answering the call when he saw that it was from her.

He impatiently clutched his head. He then got up and poured himself some wine.

Just when he filled up half of the glass with wine, his phone suddenly rang again.

His heart trembled. He quickly went to answer the call. But, because he acted too hastily, he accidentally hit the glass of wine with his hand. All the wine inside the glass spilled out and dripped onto the gray rug.

Gilbert did not have the time to clean it up. He took a few big steps forward to the couch. He immediately picked up the call without looking at the caller’s identification.

“Hello?”

“Hey, you answered my call pretty fast. You sound excited too. What happened? Whose call were you waiting for? Did you mistake me for someone else?”

Kohen suddenly laughed in a playful manner.

Gilbert instantly furrowed his eyebrows very tightly. He sounded cold as he said, ” What’s wrong?”

“Nothing. I’m going to have a party tonight. Come join us.”

“I’m not interested!”

“Come on. I told many beautiful women that you’d be coming tonight. They’re all waiting to see your graceful bearing personally. So, join me. Don’t embarrass me.”

“It’s none of my business if you look bad!” Gilbert said coldly.

“You!” Kohen was furious. “I can’t believe this is how you treat me after all the help I’ve given you.”

Gilbert pressed his lips together. He remembered how he helped him as he murmured, “Alright. What time? Send me the location.”

“Eight o’clock tonight. I’ll send you the location.”

Gilbert sat on the couch after he ended the call. He smiled ironically..

He thought Kisa had called him again.

Eight o’clock at night. Gilbert punctually arrived at the party location that was sent by Kohen.

He was never interested in parties.

But, Kohen agreed to work with him and invested some of his money and influence into GK. It kind of helped him to preserve GK’s scale and power. And, this prevented other rival firms from attacking his company.

He was very grateful that Kohen did that for him.

After all, other than Kohen, no one was willing to help him.

After he got out of his car, he raised his eyes to look around. In front of him was Kohen’s private villa.

The party was held in the yard. The yard was gigantic, and the lights were dazzling.

Kohen walked toward him not long after he got off his car.
