Chapter 45: Freed from the chains

The group makes it to their final destination. Outside the sounds of demons fighting and the icon ravaging the buildings. The Syrenity building was destroyed and the group had to jump from the building that the were in to another rooftop where other demons were.

It was a long jump but they made it. BJ poked his head up to see a Revenant screech in his face. Duke jumped up and shot it's rocket launchers off, disarming it. The others hopped up and kept shooting the demons while E2M1 blares in the background.

During their battle a Tyrant and a Doom Hunter dropped in. Stan's blood punch was ready so he shot his meat hook at the Tyrant pulling himself over and blasting it then staggering it with the blood punch. The others watched as Stan used his doom blade to slice it's leg off causing the Tyrant to fall onto it's back and slicing its head off.

Duke sees a Pain Elemental flying towards him. He whips out his trusty ol' Gold M1911s and shoots it's eye out killing it. Keen and BJ dealt with the Doom Hunter while the gals put up with the bunches of Imps and other fodder demons.

Soon the rooftop was clear and they proceeded to jump from that rooftop to the destroyed side of the Syrenity building.

Hayden: If you cannot stop him - Earth has no hope for survival.

Stan looks around and jumps to a wall and then to another. The other 5 follow making it to the Virus building where a Mancubus is battling a couple Mecha-Zombies that were annihilated by the 6.

They climb an elevator shaft and a familiar woman is heard. The UAC spokesperson. She says, "Can someone kill this idiot please?!" The 6 see Stan is visibly angry but just stay quiet seeing the Icon destroy a bridge they needed to use to get across. All hope isn't lost when Geltahmiin points out the window cleaning stands that they could jump and climb.

Stan takes a running start and makes it over. Duke follows along with the rest. There were tons of demons in the building when they made it. The group just keeps slicing, dicing, and shooting the demons.

They hop off that building to one that was recently destroyed by the Icon. During their building parkour, the gang encounters yet more demons that easily gets destroyed.

Hayden: He is close - across that bridge

BJ: Okay, let's go.

BJ runs across the bridge using his machine guns to blast the demons away with the others. Stan sees the way to the Icon and punches the wall to get through dropping down into a destroyed building. Charlie drops down next to him along with Geltahmiin, BJ, Duke and Keen.

Hayden: Now is the time. Two titans meet - as it was written.

The icon climbs up and roars at them. Geltahmiin grins under her helmet and whistles. She stands there for a moment while the guys and Charlie shoot at the Icon's armor destroying some of it.

Suddenly a mechanical roar is heard. Everyone, even the icon looks over and sees a robotic dinosaur-like creature run into it destroying some of it's armor plating.

Stan: Whoa. Kiryu right?

BJ: I remember him.

Geltahmiin: I told you he'd help

The gang watches the two fight. The icon looks over and punches the robotic dinosaur. Kiryu starts a flash freeze stopping the icon in it's tracks. He roars and rips a chunk out of Kiryu's side then bashes him across the face with it.

Kiryu retaliates by shattering more of the armor plating on his body. The icon shoots flames from the pentagram on his forehead freeing him from the ice. Kiryu's body starts regenerating fixing the damage done by the Icon.

The Icon head-buts Kiryu shattering the armor on his head. Kiryu takes this moment to hold him still for the moment.

Geltahmiin: Stan! Shoot the BFG at the Icon's head! His brain needs to be exposed.

Stan: On it!

He aims the BFG and lands a direct hit on the Icon's head causing his skull to shatter making his brain exposed. Geltahmiin takes out the sniper she loaded with the serum. She shoots a shot at the icon's brain sending a green stream throughout his body.

Geltahmiin: Damn. He needs more than one dose.

She shoots another at his brain sending more green streams through his body. The Icon goes limp and falls to the ground. A few minutes later he stands up groaning loudly.

Geltahmiin: Hey kiddo!

The icon looks at her and tilts his head.

Geltahmiin: Can you understand us!

The icon nods and notices his body and feels it. He lets out grunts that sound like fear and sadness. They could be translated to, 'Am I free? Am I finally free?'

Geltahmiin: You have free will once again!

The icon tries speaking but it comes out as grunts and roars. Geltahmiin chuckles and shoots another dose of the serum.

Geltahmiin: That should do it. You should be able to speak now. I can't return you to your normal form. Too risky kid.

The icon gets down to eye level with her and says, "Where... Is my... dad?"

A portal opens up behind Geltahmiin and the others. A man that Stan is familiar with walks through

???: I'm here son...

Geltahmiin growls a bit in the man's presence.

Stan: If it isn't Valen

The Betrayer: Good to see you too Slayer.

Geltahmiin points a gun at the Betrayer's head while she says, "Give me one good reason to why I shouldn't pull the trigger right now."

The Betrayer chuckles saying, "I know you're still angry at me for what I did wretch but I'm only here because of my son."

Geltahmiin: Understandable.

The Icon: D-Dad... is that... you?

The Betrayer: Yes it's me. I'm so sorry for what happened to you. I-I made a terrible mistake.

The icon: You just... couldn't live knowing...  I was dead... and made a deal with... the dark lords.

The Betrayer: But you're you again. Besides the giant demon stuff. Thanks to the Slayer, his family and friends you're free.

Stan: Well Valen, why don't you join your son in rampaging throughout hell and getting revenge for tricking you?

The Betrayer: That sounds like fun. What do you think son?

The Icon: I would... love to do that... thank you all.

Geltahmiin: No problem. Now go get your revenge!

The Betrayer nods and sits on the Icon's shoulder as they go back into Argent hell to kill the demons.

Charlie: So... That was fun!

Stan: Indeed it was.

Charlie giggles a bit and moves her helmet up revealing her lips and does the same for Stan and begins to make out with him. BJ shrugs and does the same with Geltahmiin.

Geltahmiin: Save your energy love, because tonight, you me and Allison are gonna have celebratory sex~

BJ: Sounds like fun~

Duke and Keen are just practicing their secret handshake while the others are kissing. After a while Hayden opens a portal back to the hotel for them. BJ picks Geltahmiin up while Stan does the same for Charlie and walks through with him. Keen and Duke follow soon after.
