Chapter 281
The Contract Marriage
Because of this mess, it was very soon 5 PM in the afternoon.
Christian looked at the time and drove the two back to Villa of Cooper Family. Seeing the two of them get off the car and Ruby held his brotherâs hand as they walked into the villa, Christian smiled in relief.
He then started the car again to go to Municipal Hospital.
Julian let Ruby bring him upstairs into Rubyâs room that she originally slept in. Once the two of them walked in, Julian held her tightly in his arms and lowered his head to kiss her lips.
âRuby! I thought I was going to lose you this time. I thought I would never see you again!â Julian kept kissing her cheeks and her hair, telling her about the pain of missing her for the past few days.
He couldnât say what he missed her. He missed her. That endless longing was going to torture him until he went crazy.
Ruby leaned in his arms and felt his fiery passion for her. She raised her head and looked at his face.
She reached out and gently caressed it.
In these two or three days, she also could not say that she didnât miss him. She really missed him. In the past, when they were together, she was not clear about her feelings for him. This time, she truly understood that he was not by her side. What does life mean. . .
âRuby, Iâm sorry! Itâs all because Iâm too useless. If I could see with my eyes, I wouldnât let them bully you like this! Ruby, Iâm sorry. . . â
âJulian, Iâm fine. You donât have to worry. Didnât I come back now?â
âI was scared to death. When you werenât by my side, I had realized that my life was a complete mess.
Ruby, promise me that you wonât leave me again, okay?â Julian hugged her tightly, afraid that once he let go, she would fly away like a kite in his hands.
âOkay. . . I promise you. . . I will never leave you again. . .â Ruby nodded in surprise.
Julian looked happy, but he still did not believe it. âRuby, is what you said true? You really will not leave me again?â Julian asked back excitedly.
Ruby looked at Julian and slightly pursed her lower lip, then said slowly, âEn. . . But you have to promise me one condition. . . â
âSpeak. As long as you promise to stay by my side, I will promise you anything.â Julian couldnât wait to speak.
âYou cannot divorce Sister Vivian!â
Julian frowned. âWhat is this condition? No! I canât agree to it! Ruby, I donât just want you to only stay by my side, but I also want to give you a home! I want to live with you openly and aboveboard, and not live like you are now, which makes you unable to see the light. Do you understand?â
âThis is the promise I made with my father when I left home today. In the future, he wonât marry me out again. The prerequisite is that you canât divorce Sister Vivian!â Ruby replied with a heartache.
âNo! I canât agree to this condition! I want to give you happiness, I donât want to be with you like this!
Ruby!â Julian held Rubyâs hand tightly. He really could not accept such conditions. The life he wanted was not like this.
Ruby heard his words and smiled in relief. âJulian, as long as I return to your side, I donât care about my status. Just let me stay by your side, okay?â
âRuby! Why did you have to make such a condition for me? Why?â
âBecause my father said that if you and Sister Vivian divorce because of me, then he will die in front of the Cooper Group! My father is a man who can do what he says. I canât joke with his life. Promise me, okay?â
âHow could this be? How could this be?â Julian held her tightly in his arms, feeling unspeakable pain and self-blame.
He originally thought very well that as long as he divorced Vivian, he could give Ruby a home, marry her, and live with her freely and openly.
But now. . .
He could not give her anything!
Knowing that he was not feeling well, she gently wrapped her arms around his waist and pressed her face against his chest: âActually, you donât have to be sad. Didnât you say. . . That you want me to give birth to a child for you?â
âSo what if I have a child? I canât even give him a title. . .â Julian shook his head in self-blame.
âAs long as you donât divorce Sister Vivian, I can do anything for you. . .â
âYou idiot. . . Why are you so stupid?â
Because Ruby finally returned to Julianâs side, everything seemed to have returned to its original state.
It had been a week since Stephen and Simona were born.
After a week of recuperation, Sarah had long been able to get down from the ground. On the seventh day of Stephenâs birth, Sarah was brought back to the villa by Christian.
Because she had to take care of the two children, Daphne asked someone to clean up Sarah and Christianâs original room and let Sarah live in the bedroom on the first floor again. Daphne also added a large baby bed in the bedroom. She let the two children rest together.
Of course, on the day Sarah went home, Vivian was also picked up by the driver at Cooper Family, but asked the driver to send her back to her motherâs home.
After experiencing Rubyâs matter, Vivian did not care if the children were all fed by Sarah. Anyway, she had the promise of Rubyâs father, so she also did not need to worry about Julian divorce with her.
Since she could not see, she did not mind. She might as well go back to her motherâs house to rest.
After she had recovered, she would return to the Cooper Family.
Because Sarah had two children to take care of, plus Daphne had to take care of her husband, so Daphne really did not have time to go home to take care of Sarah, so Samantha followed her daughter back to Villa of Cooper Family.
Because it was the first day Sarah went to the Cooper family after giving birth, Daphne took the initiative to take care of Ethan in the hospital and let Christian return home.
Although there was a chef at home and they could order any kind of food they wanted, but for dinner, Christian still personally cooked a sumptuous dinner for his wife.
During dinner, Christian let his wife and mother-in-law go to Stephen to play in the living room.
Today, the house suddenly became lively, and Julian was in high spirits. He ate dinner very quickly.
After dinner, he let Ruby take him to the sofa first. When he heard Christian laugh happily with his daughter, he couldnât help but ask Hannah to give Stephen to him.
When the babbling little guy came into Julianâs arms, he couldnât help but laugh.
âBig Brother, does he look like me?â Julian asked as he smiled and touched Stephenâs face in his arms, which made the little guy protest unhappily.
âYes, he looks like you. Julian, when Stephen grows up, let him join the army with me.â Knowing that his brother would not agree, Christian smiled and joked with him.
âOkay! Let Simona take over the Cooper Group. Then you will be in trouble. If this girl becomes a strong woman, most men will stay away from her. You can hardly find a husband for her Big brother.â
Julian was in a good mood. He smiled and joked with Christian.
âOur Simonaâs charm is unparalleled. Even if she takes over the Cooper Group, she will definitely mesmerize everyone.â Christian kissed his daughterâs face as he spoke.
âBig Brother, Dad has been recovering well these days. When are you going to return to the army?â
âIn few days. Sarah just came back today. Dad is still in the hospital. We will talk about it after everything settle down.â
âIf the army is busy, you donât have to worry too much about the family matters. Sister-in-law and Vivian have already been discharged from the hospital anyway. My mother is in the hospital. Furthermore, there is still advanced care. You donât have to worry too much. If there is any situation at home, I will call you at any time.â
Julian understood that after Christian had become commander, his work had become busier than before.
âOk, I will handle the matters in the army. Donât worry.â He was really worried about his familyâs current state.
While the two of them were talking, the others also finished eating and walked over. Sarah took Simona from Christianâs arms and let Christian eat dinner.
No one knew if he was hungry or not. But as Sarah walked over and he saw his mother coming, little Stephen stuck out his little tongue and started crying in Julianâs arms.
âWhy is he crying?â Julian who had never taken care of a baby was at a loss.
Hearing the crying, Sarah turned to look a Stephen. Looking at the anxious look on the little guyâs face, Sarah first gave Simona to her mother, then walked to Julianâs side and carried Stephen over.
She carried him back to her bedroom. Just as she walked to the sofa and sat down, the little guy was already impatient to eat his dinner.
Sarah looked at him and smiled. She stretched out her hand and lifted the hem of her clothes. The little guyâs small mouth impatiently moved over and held onto his motherâs chest. Stephen then closed his eyes and started to eat with all his might.
Sarah looked at Stephen who was eating happily in her arms, smiled and reached out her hand to touch his face. Halfway through eating, Stephen suddenly turned his head from his motherâs arms and looked at his mother who was staring at him. He suddenly smiled happily and revealed his pink gums.
Then, he returned to his original position and continued to eat milk.
When Stephen was about to finish eating, Christian walked in. He walked to his wifeâs side and sat down.
Christian looked at Stephen in her arms and smiled. Then he looked at his wife beside him. He raised his hand and gently rubbed her hair. Suddenly, he moved closer to her face and kissed her lightly.
Sarah turned her face and smiled at him.
âIf you feed two children at the same time, will you feel wronged?â Other than their own child, the other one was Vivianâs!
Sarah smiled and looked at Stephen who was in her arms. She gently said, âI donât know if I have feelings for this little guy in these few days, but every time I see him, I feel very close as if. . . as if he is also my child. I never felt that he was not my own child. I donât know if it was because you who gave him his name, every time I hear his name, I always have an inexplicable feeling. I have never hated him. How can I feel wronged?â
âItâs rare for you to think that way, so I feel relieved.â
Sarah smiled again. âDonât worry. I wonât treat him badly just because he isnât our child. Even if Simona feels wronged, I canât let Stephen be wronged. Donât you agree?â
Christian smiled and kissed his wife again. âWhat fortune did I, Christian Cooper, have in my previous life? How could I have such a good wife?â
