Chapter 216
The change in his demeanor only took a second. Madelyn thought it was a shame that Frank did not choose acting as a career.
She took the design draft from her document folder and handed it to Frank. âMs. Carter told me you want to finalize some details?â
âYes. Overall, your draft looks rather perfect. But I have my own requirements for certain details.â
âSure.â Madelyn didnât mind that. The biggest nightmare for architects would be to amend the overall concept. But if there were some minor changes, she could easily amend as per the clientâs request.
The two began to discuss. Meanwhile, Benson was already waiting outside the room. According to Andrewâs instructions, he would enter right away if Madelyn wasnât out within half an hour.
Madelyn and Frank indeed discussed the draft for more than half an hour. Although Frank usually seemed carefree and unreliable, he was actually very strict and demanding at work.
Madelyn and Frank seemed rather confused when Benson pushed the door open and entered.
âMr. Bardot?â Benson glanced at Frank in shock.
Frank glanced at Benson before looking at Madelyn. âAndrew truly cares. for you, but itâs not right to keep a talent like you hidden.â
Although there were many architect graduates these days, it wasnât easy to find a design that matched Frankâs requirements.
Before seeing Madelynâs designs, Frank had already met with more than 30 architects for his project, yet none of their designs matched his vision.
Since it was merely a design draft, Frank initially did not even want to look. at it. Now, he was relieved that he did.
Benson relaxed when he saw it was Frank and asked Madelyn, âDo you
still need me to wait for you?â
Madelyn checked the time. âYou can leave first. I still have an ongoing meeting.â
âAlright.â Since it was Frank, Andrew didnât need to be too worried. Thus, it wasnât necessary for Benson to continue waiting here.
After closing the door to the private room, Frank asked Madelyn, âDidnât Andrew ask you to design anything?â
Lately, Miller Group had also been accepting bids for the project. They were even hiring experienced architects and studios. Andrew had such a hidden talent like Madelyn by his side, yet he did not recruit her.
But Frank immediately realized that Madelyn hadnât been working for the past few years. Thus, Andrew probably had no clue about her abilities.
Frank wondered if Andrew would get back at him for using Madelynâs first- ever design.
âSomeone like him clearly doesnât think much of us newbies. He event asked me to prepare a draft for him. Where do I even find the time to prepare a draft within two days?â
Ever since the studio announced itself as a branch of Unity Studio, Jessie had accepted a few projects, and they were rushing to get them done.
At that moment, Frank still wasnât aware that Madelynâs studio was doing quite well. He even considered giving Andrew a headsâup to delay any retaliation plans he might have against him.
The two talked from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm before they were able to finalize certain details.
Madelyn took out her phone while speaking to Frank, âIâll send you a detailed design next Wednesday. We should be able to finalize everything. before Friday.â
âThank you, Madelyn, but donât work so hard. We can delay it a little.â
Frank was worried that if Madelyn worked overtime at night, he would be in serious trouble. By then, Andrew would definitely find ways to torture

him. But Frank couldnât bear not to use her design that was far too outstanding.
Andrew had phoned Madelyn many times, but she had set her phone on silent mode to avoid disruptions. When she finally returned his calls, he clearly sounded unhappy.
âWhat took you so long?â
âUnlike you, not everyone will listen to everything I say.â
âDid Frank upset you?â
Frank heard this and cast a pleading look at Madelyn immediately. Thus, she said sternly over the phone, âDonât be so rude to my client.â
âCome downstairs. Iâm at the lobby entrance.â
âOkay. Wait for me.â After ending the call, Madelyn and Frank took the elevator down together. As they reached the entrance, they found Rowan waiting with a respectful and stern expression.
Rowan was so irritating to look at. Madelyn would definitely find an
opportunity to send him away to the desert again. She tossed her car keys to him before getting into Andrewâs car right away.
