Chapter 217
Seeing that Andrew had personally driven over, Frank dropped his serious. attitude from earlier and leaned against the car window. He was back to
his usual carefree self.
âAndrew, Iâll need Madelynâs help this week, so donât take it out on me.â
âGet lost!â Andrew glared icily at him.
Frank stood up and scratched his nose before speaking to Madelyn, who was seated in the passenger seat, âIâll have to trouble you, Madelyn.â
When Frank finished speaking, the car sped past him with a gust of wind
from the exhaust.
Through the rearview mirror, Madelyn saw Frank standing in the same. spot, talking to Rowan. He even patted Rowan, who looked rather disdainful, on the shoulder.
She knew that Rowan was very close with Andrew and Laura when they were at Felasko. Although everyone else liked Elena, Rowan never did. Instead, he always preferred to be with Andrew and Laura.
Andrew grabbed Madelynâs hand and placed it on the gear shift, asking, How did you manage to convince Frank? He can be very demanding.â
Andrew was implying that Madelyn was merely a fresh graduate. There was no way Frank would have been impressed with her designs.
Madelyn glared at Andrew. âObviously, Iâm rather talented.â
âDonât think so highly of yourself. Tell me the truth!â
âThe truth is Frank likes my design. Iâm now responsible for the Glomscape project next to Glomhill.â
âHe let you handle Glomscape?â
âYes. So, why donât you let me manage Glomhill as well, darling?â Madelyn cheekily looked at Andrew, whose gaze was filled with suspicion.
Recently, the company had been keeping in touch with Unity Studios so that they could collaborate with Naomi. While the studio agreed to accept projects, they did not say a word about her. Clearly, Naomi was unlikely to take on the job.
Seeing how Andrew remained quiet, Madelyn asked coquettishly, âWill you let me have the job or not?â
âNo! If you really want to handle the project, show me a draft first,â Andrew said while pinching her hand.
Madelyn could do whatever she liked with the studio, but Andrew always kept business and personal matters separate. Thus, he couldnât let his company get caught up in her antics.
Madelyn wasnât angry at all even though she knew he didnât trust her. She merely scoffed. âLet me warn you in advance. I wonât be free in the future.â
The way she spoke so confidently about her ability only made Andrew laugh even more.
âWhat are you laughing at?â Madelyn asked.
Andrew replied, âNothing much. Come back home whenever you donât feel like working anymore.â
Did Andrew think she was just messing around? In that case, why did he even set up such a large studio for her? At that moment, Madelyn felt
somewhat lost.
Andrew asked, âAre you able to pay your employeesâ wages this month?â
âWeâve already accepted two projects now. Jessie still has a few on hand, and weâre waiting for the new architects to begin work. Paying their wages definitely wonât be an issue.â
âYouâre just riding on the name of Unity Studios. If you canât establish yourself within a short time, your studio will just go up in smoke. No one will seek you out in the future.â
Madelynâs studio was merely riding on the name of Unity Studios. It would only take three months before her studioâs true capability became
Caparez
apparent.
Madelyn wordlessly looked at him. âWhy do you keep talking as if Iâll have. to close my studio?â
âNo, Iâm reminding you that if you donât work hard for the next three. months, youâll truly have to shut down your business,â Andrew emphasized the last four words, making Madelyn sit up straight in frustration.
She had not even opened the studio for a week, yet here he was, talking about the business coming to an end. His words truly infuriated her.
Seeing how angry Madelyn was, Andrew affectionately patted the back of her head. âDonât be angry. At least, my darling is willing to put in effort.â
Did he mean that she was merely throwing a tantrum? Madelyn became even more speechless.
By the time they arrived at Serenity Villa, dinner was ready. Although it was just simple pasta, Madelyn and Andrew enjoyed it. In fact, they liked having simple dinners.
Andrew had carbonara pasta while Madelyn had bolognese pasta. She saw the bacon bits in his carbonara pasta and couldnât help but say, âI want a bite of your food.â
âSure.â Andrew nodded before placing the plate before her and asking, â Why donât we exchange our food?â
âNo way. I want bolognese pasta,â Madelyn mumbled through a mouthful of pasta.
