Chapter 20

Twenty - Humanity

The Witch And His Wolf // Kai Parker

Humanity

Kai stood up from the kitchen floor. The blood Abbie had given him helped a lot. The floor and counters were covered in blood, and Abbie was nowhere to be seen. "Abbie where are you!" he angrily yelled. He followed the trail of blood into the living room where he saw Abbie drinking all her blood bags. She looked like a wild animal. Ironically, she looked wilder than when she was a werewolf. She stood up and looked at him like she was going to eat him. Kai looked around him and noticed the bag with sticks next to him. He quickly grabbed one stick and held it up in front of him. "Don't worry, pretty boy. I need you," she said while grinning through her bloody teeth. He lowered his weapon, "For what?"

A day later, Abbie and Kai were walking to school. "So, this plan of yours, are you ever going to explain it?" Kai asked. "No need, because you're not needed yet." He rolled his eyes and moved his arm across her shoulder. Kai quite enjoyed Abbie without her emotions. He couldn't easily manipulate her anymore, but she was far more entertaining. "You know, we can also go and do something a bit more... fun," he winked at her. "I would love to do some fun," she said and winked back at him, "But, I have things to do." Kai sighed, "At 1 pm at school? What possible things could you do?" Abbie looked at Kai dead serious, "You're being winey."

"I'm not sure if I'm liking this 'no humanity' Abbie. She's bossy," he joked. She didn't respond, instead, she focused on the school building they were approaching. Abbie started looking like a bloodhound hunting for prey. They entered the hallway. It was busy as usual, except, because it was lunchtime most people were in the cafeteria. Abbie didn't waste any time and began walking towards the cafeteria. "Kai, where were you?" Jo asked him and stopped them both in their tracks. Jo seemed genuinely worried about Kai, which was quite unlike her.

"You didn't show last night, and mom and dad didn't seem bothered about it. But with Carrie out there, hungry for blood, I was worried she might have hurt you," she rambled. "As if Carrie could hurt me, besides I was with Abbie the whole night," he said and pointed his thumb towards her. "Couldn't you have paged or called me?" she asked. Abbie started getting annoyed, "Come." She grabbed Kai's hand and led him to the cafeteria. Jo quickly walked behind them, "Why are you walking away? What's going on?" They both kept ignoring her. All three stood still in front of the cafeteria, which was full of people and incredibly loud.

Kai raised his eyebrow, "And now?" Abbie scanned all the tables and noticed an empty chair. "Watch." She walked over to the chair and dragged it to the center of the cafeteria. She stood up on the chair and yelled, "Everybody, listen!" Everybody focused their attention on Abbie. "Tonight at 12 pm, I'm going to have a party at my place. It will have beers and loud music!" Everyone began whispering to each other. Jo scratched her head and looked at Kai, "What is going on with Abbie?" He turned to Jo. "She switched her humanity off," he casually mentioned and looked back to Abbie. Before Jo could ask him anything else, he walked away to Abbie, which left his sister confused behind.

Abbie got off the chair as people began surrounding her, asking for more details. Kai pushed the people aside and together with Abbie started walking away, "Was this your plan?" Abbie proudly nodded, "Carrie will definitely show up to the party, and it will all end tonight. Besides, the party will be fun," she paused and mischievously smiled, "and delicious." Jo desperately caught up to them. "What did you mean with switched her humanity off?" she asked them both. "It means all my human emotions are gone, idiot," Abbie told her. They both walked out of the building and disappeared out of nowhere, which left Jo all alone.

Abbie had vamp-speeded away to a liquor store nearby while having Kai on her back. It was the easiest way of transportation. Even though, it was broad daylight no one was around to see it. At least, if you didn't count Jo. "Why did you tell her I switched my button?" Abbie asked as they entered the liquor store. "I didn't know that was secret information," Kai joked and began looking through the wine selection. "It isn't, but Jo might ruin things. Like, trying to get my emotions back." Kai nodded, "That does sound like a Jo thing to do, but don't worry I won't let her." Abbie randomly grabbed bottles of liquors and put them in a bag. "I couldn't care less what these people drink tonight, as long as they taste good."

They walked to the register and put the many bottles of alcohol on the counter. The old man behind the register began laughing, "I might be old, but not that old! You two definitely aren't anywhere old enough." Abbie looked into his eyes, "You will let us go with this liquor, and you will forget us." The old man repeated her words as a zombie, "I will let you go with that liquor, and I will forget you." Abbie cheerfully smiled, and they walked out of the store.

A bit later, they entered Abbie's empty house. They both locked eyes with each other after noticing the blood that was still everywhere. "That needs to go," Kai said, and she agreed. The blood was hard to remove. The smooth surfaces like the counters were less difficult and easily removable, but the blood on the ground was different. Since it had been a while, the blood had stained the carpet badly. "Just roll up the carpet and throw it in the basement. I'll deal with it tomorrow," Abbie commanded Kai. That didn't take long and shortly after the house was squeaky clean. Almost as if an attempted murder didn't happen.

After that, the people began showing up at the house. Every time she opened the door, she directed them all to the kitchen where the alcohol was located. They were far more delicious drunk. As the hour went by and the party became busier she just kept the door open, so anyone could enter, even Carrie. She walked over to Kai and whispered something in his ear, "The door is open. The plan is ready." The music was incredibly loud, but luckily he could understand it. He nodded, and they moved to the more dancing part of the living room.

As they were dancing Abbie could smell Kai's breath. He had already drunk a lot of alcohol. She didn't care how much he drank, but she didn't want him to throw dust in her plan. Even if it had a small chance of working. She needed him sharp. In the corner of her eye, she noticed a very familiar face. The one and only Carrie. Her plan had actually worked. Abbie quickly glanced at Kai. She could easily do it on her own. She was a vampire and far stronger than he was. "I'm going to get a drink," she told him and disappeared out of his sight.

Carrie had seen Abbie too, and when she noticed she was following her, she led Abbie outside. Carrie came to a stop on a grass field not too far from Abbie's house. It was dark and empty outside. The only light was the full moon. Something Abbie still felt closely connected to. "You're a pain in the ass. A big one! So, I decided to just kill you instead of torturing you forever. Far too much trouble to do that," Carrie exclaimed and revealed her teeth. "It's funny how you're willing to throw your own life away for him. In the grand scheme of things, his death wasn't even important. You know how many people die every day?" Abbie was obviously provoking her.

Carrie clenched her teeth, "How about after I kill you I kill your mother? After all, she isn't that important in the grand scheme of things." Abbie raised her shoulder, "Yeah sure, I couldn't care less about her." There was a silence of only ten seconds but felt like an eternity. "Throwing life away for a rapist," Abbie told herself and chuckled. "What?" Carrie asked angrily. She knew that Carrie could hear her, Abbie did it on purpose. "You heard me. Your brother is a rapist." Carrie looked furious, "You're lying! Monster!" Carrie began walking closer. "I'm not, but I get it. After all of this, you can't just stop, so I will have to make you stop."

Abbie revealed her stake. Carrie stopped for less than a second but then continued. "That doesn't scare me, Abbie. I'm stronger than you." They charged at each other and began fighting. Abbie tried to push the stake into her heart but she was indeed stronger. Carrie pinned her on the ground and took her stake. Every swing that Carrie made she dodged. The little training Kai and Abbie had worked after all. She threw the stake, out of Carrie's hand and it landed a few feet further from them. Abbie vamp speeded toward and it picked it up. When she was few inches from piercing her heart Carrie dropped to the ground, which revealed Kai behind her.

He had his hand on her shoulder and was siphoning every piece of magic Carrie had. Grey veins formed around her body and she felt down, dead. Kai's face was stone cold. He looked down at the body and smirked in the delight at the magic now running through his body. "What the fuck! That was my kill!" Abbie yelled and held her hand on his throat. "Kinky," he smirked. She began hissing her teeth at him. "Motus," he chanted and she flew back. "Just get back to the party so you can get a drink. A bloody one," he said. "I will."

Kai stayed behind to get rid of Carrie's body. He whispered, "Invisique." and disappeared together with the body.  Abbie walked back to her house and noticed that the party had become out of control. People were jumping off the roof and pissing in the grass. But, she couldn't care less. She walked into her house and walked up to a girl who was all alone. She stood in a corner awkwardly with a cup of alcohol in her hand. The perfect target. "Be quiet, calm, and do not move," Abbie told the girl after looking deeply into her eyes. The girl stood perfectly still and Abbie bit her fangs into her neck. The sweet delicious taste of blood was exactly what Abbie needed after getting angry at Kai. She completely drained the girl of blood and pushed her dead body into a closet.

Abbie felt satisfied and a little while later returned to Kai who she found drinking in the kitchen. She leaned to him and whispered, "Did you dispose of it?" Kai looked at her and nodded. Abbie smiled and they walked to the more active area of the house. There they danced for the rest of the night.

The next day, hours later, Abbie woke up naked in her bed. Next to her was Kai, who was also naked. They had quite fun after the party. She stood up, put on her pajamas, and walked to the living room. The house was dirty and fucked up. Everyone had left, at least, if you ignored the dead girl still in the closet.

Her head turned to the door when she heard footsteps coming closer. The person opened the door and looked horrified. It was her mother. "What the fuck happened here!" she screamed as she looked at the state of her house. She closed the door behind her and looked at her daughter in disbelieve. Her mother had come back earlier than she said. Abbie looked into her eyes and said, "Don't move or talk." The whole compulsion thing was becoming Abbie's favorite thing. Abbie's eyes became bloodshot and veins protruded. She showed her fangs and bit her mother.

As she kept draining her mother she began feeling distressed. Until suddenly, her button switched back on. "Oh god, what have I done," she cried and let her mother rest on the ground because she fainted. It hurt so much. The tears kept rolling down her cheeks. Why was she such a monster? The only two people in the world that could make her switch her button were Kai and her mother and she hurt them both. It didn't matter if she was a human, werewolf, a vampire with or without emotion she kept hurting people. Regardless, if some deserved it or not.

She looked back at her mother, who was still bleeding out and she quickly gave her her blood. As she began to wake up Abbie looked back into her eyes, "You will forget everything that happened today and stay asleep the whole day." Her mother nodded, yawned, and fell asleep. That gave her at least a day to fix the house. "What is going on?" Kai asked and walked naked into the living room. "My mother came home." He looked down at her sleeping mother who was covered in blood. Then looked at Abbie who's mouth was also covered in blood. "I see."

Thank you for reading chapter Twenty! I hope you enjoyed it. I had quite trouble writing the beginning of this chapter. Then I accidentally took a two-week break, which means I failed at the one chapter per week challenge. But, in the end, it came out pretty good. I'm also quite pleased with the length of the chapter. I hope you will be too.
