Chapter 210 I Will Do It Myself

âThereâs no time, hurry,â Julia urged, looking at the doctor. âDonât bother with anesthesia. By the time it takes effect, itâll be too late
The doctor hesitated, asking. âSo, you want us to proceed with the surgery without it?â
Thisâ¦â
âWhatâs the problem? Are you hesitating now? Canât you handle a simple procedure?â Julia snapped. âYou didnât hesitate when it was time to collect your payment!
The doctor stammered. Iâve never performed surgery without anesthesia.â
Just pretend sheâs had it! Understand?â
Juliaâs impatience was growing, and she kicked the doctor in frustration. âFollow my orders! If something goes wrong. Iâll take responsibility!â
âAlright,â the doctor muttered, reluctantly agreeing.
Without anesthesia, it was going to be a brutal, painful procedure.
Caroline bit her lip, fighting the overwhelming emotion. âJulia, youâre completely insane!â
Julia raised her hand and slapped Caroline across the face. âSilence!â
Just then, the sound of hurried footsteps drew closer, stopping at the door to the operating room.
âThis is it! Itâs here!â Nashâs voice echoed. âOpen the door! Julia, I know youâre inside! Open up!â
The relentless pounding on the door shook the entire room.
Nash stood at the door, banging it with all his strength, even attempting to kick it open.
But it was useless.
Frantic, he shouted, âJulia! Do you hear me? Let Caroline go! Donât make another mistake!â
Julia pretended she hadnât heard a word.
âNash! Nash!â Carolineâs voice cracked as she screamed, âIâm in here! Save me!â
Upon hearing her, Nashâs pounding grew more desperate.
He took a step back and charged at the door with his body, but it still didnât budge.
The door was locked tight, and two bodyguards stood in his way. Alone, Nash couldnât break through.
After several failed attempts, he stepped back, exhausted and helpless.
David stood nearby, his hand casually tucked into his pocket, observing with a detached, almost cold demeanor.

His presence, dressed immaculately, seemed entirely out of place in the dingy, tense atmosphere.

âWhat are you standing there for? Give me a hand!â Nash demanded, âCarolineâs inside! She just screamed for help!â
David remained still, unfazed.
âYour wife is the one in danger!â Nash yelled, his voice rising. âAre you really this heartless and indifferent?â
David responded calmly, âMy wife wonât be harmed. But your child is about to leave this world. Youâre not saving Caroline, Nash. Youâre just trying to protect your child.â
âYou!â Nash sputtered, his voice shaking with disbelief. âHow can you still focus on things like this right now? Saving a life is what matters!â
David pressed his lips together and looked toward the operating room without a word.
Nash sneered. âFine, if you wonât help, Iâll do it myself. Get out of the way!â
With only one door separating them, and the poor soundproofing of the old building, every word exchanged between David and Nash was clearly audible inside.
Julia spoke, her voice laced with bitterness. âDid you hear that, Caroline? They both came. Unfortunately, neither of them came to save you. Mr. Ellison stands by doing nothing, and Nash is only concerned about his child.â
Caroline shut her eyes, tears flowing freely.
She had heard every word.
Each sentence felt like a wound, slicing deeper into her heart.
In this world, no one had ever truly cared about her.
