Chapter 34

Mr.Billionaire Meets Ms.Clumsy

"Look." Emilyn wave the phone in front of Christopher's face when she got into his car.

"Stop waving in front of my face I can't see." He chuckles and grabs a hold of her arm stopping it from moving.

"Look is my first article about you," Emilyn said. "My name is on it." She pointed to the name above the title.

"I'm so proud of you baby." Christopher turns to give her a charming smile on his face. "You did great." He scrolls through the article. "Look how great these pictures came out."

"Andrew and Savannah helped me choose those pictures," Emilyn told him. "Especially Andrew, he has a keen eye on these things." A deep rumble came out from his chest. "Are you okay?" Is something wrong?" She asked him with a worried face.

"Who is this Andrew guy? Are you guys close?" He asked.

"You met him before remember." Emilyn reminded him, Christopher furrows his eyebrows. "The guy who was with me when you bought those pictures of both of us."

He tilts his head back and thinks, "Do you remember? He is a little shorter than you with brown hair and brown eyes." Emilyn describe.

"Yeah, I think so," Christopher said. "Are you guys close?"

"Yup," Emilyn nod her head. "quite close, he is a good friend in my workplace."

Christopher sat in his seat silent, not saying anything for a while. "So how is your grandma? She got admitted to the hospital today, right?" Christopher change the topic "Why aren't you with her?"

"She chases me out of the hospital, telling me to go back home to rest." Emilyn sigh.

"She just wants you to be comfortable so that you don't have to sleep on the hospital chair."

"I know." She sigh. "I hope everything goes well."

"When is the surgery?" Christopher asked, passing back her phone.

"Next week," Emilyn said, taking back her phone. Out of the window, Emilyn spotted someone familiar walking down the street. "Christopher." She grabs on his arms. "Look." She pointed out the window. "Is Ana."

Ana stops and stares at the car that they are in suspiciously. She begins walking closer to the car, Emilyn hold tightens on Christopher's arms. "Can she see us?"

"Angel, if she can see us. She will be screaming." He said.

"What am I going to do?" Emilyn asked frantically. "I can't let her find out, not now."

"Calm down, okay. I got a plan." Christopher said. "Climb into the back of my car and crouch down." Emilyn did as told. Once, she is crouch down in the back seat. Christopher took off his jacket and cover her.

"Hey," Christopher said rolling down his window.

"What are you doing here?" Ana asked.

"One of my friends lives in this area." He told her.

"Hmm," Ana said, "Can I ask what happen to you and Emilyn? The last time we talk, she said you guys are not talking."

"Not talking?" He asked with an amused tone. "What is trying to do?" Emilyn thought, she hit the back of his sit. Christopher glances side-ways and Emilyn scowled at him. "What else did she say?" Christopher added.

"Not much, just say that you guys aren't friends anymore and she tries to avoid you at all cost," Ana said. "So what exactly happened to both of you?"

"I don't know, you should ask her why is she avoiding me." Emilyn can feel the smirk on his face.

"Anyways, I'm going to head up. Emilyn is waiting for me." Ana said.

"Hey, if you see Emilyn again. Tell her to call me."

"Alright, I'll try my best." She said. Emilyn waited for a little while for Christopher to give her a signal.

"She's gone," Christopher said. Emilyn took off the jacket and stand up to sit on the seat

"Thank god." Emilyn let out a breath. "I better be going now, Ana is going to ask lots of questions if she doesn't see me up there." She grabs her bag in front of the seat.  "Hold up, my phone and bag are in front of the car seat. Did Ana notice my phone there? No way right?" Emilyn thought.

"Hey, what are you thinking," Christopher asked.

"Nothing, I'm going now," Emilyn gave a kiss on his cheek. "Bye."

"Wait." Christopher stops her and pulls her close cupping her left cheek into a kiss. "You think I'll let you go with that." He smirks.

Emilyn's lips turn into a shy smile, "I have to go now." She said softly.

"Alright, text me once you got home." Emilyn rolled her eyes at him, being all protective again.

"Yes, I know," She groans. "You don't have to remind me every single day."

"Says the girl who doesn't let me walk her up." He scoffs.

"We talk about this already." Emilyn sigh.

"I know, I know." Christopher sigh. "Go ahead, don't want Ana to get suspicious when she sees you not home." Emilyn nod

Emilyn rushes upstairs, when she opened her house door, she found Ana standing right in front of the door with her arms crossed and an eyebrow raise. "Hi, how long have you been here?" Emilyn awkwardly said.

"Long, my legs are about to give in." She said.

Emilyn closes the door behind her, "Then, why didn't you sit and wait. Don't have to suffer like this." She told her.

"Where did you go?" She asked.

"I went to get some ice cream?"

"And where is your ice cream?" Ana asked looking down at Emilyn's hands.

"Oh, I ate it on the way home."

"Right." She nod. "Then, did you see Christopher's car downstairs?"

"Christopher?" Emilyn asked, scrunching her eyebrows. "Why would he be here?"

"I don't know, I'm supposed to ask you that question." She said. "How come I saw your bag and phone on his car seat?"

"What?" Emilyn incredulously gasp. "What do you mean?" She avoids eye contact. "My stuff is common, maybe it could be some else."

"Call him," Ana said.

"Why would I call him?" Emilyn scoff. "I told you that we are not on speaking terms anymore."

"Call him, now." She insisted. Without a choice, Emilyn slowly took out her phone from her pocket. She glances at Ana. "Do it," Ana told her. "Or I will do it for you." She tries to grab Emilyn's phone.

"No, no. I'll do it." Emilyn shakes her head and press Christopher's number and let it ring.

"Put it on speaker," Ana said and she froze.

"Speaker?" Emilyn scrunches her eyebrow. "Is it necessary?" She asked hoping Ana would say no.

"Yes, put it on speaker." Emilyn hovers her finger over the speaker icon, but Ana presses her finger down. Emilyn scowl.

At the third ring, he picks up. "Hey, baby. You got home already?"

"Oh god, I'm dead. Dead I tell you." Emilyn said in her head.

"Baby?" Ana asked. Emilyn bites her lip and looks in the other direction.

"Uhm...who is this? I think I got the wrong number." Christopher said.

"Don't pretend." Ana scold. "Get your butt up here Christopher Evans!" She shouted.

"Oh, I can't. I'm already close to my house."

"Don't lie, I know you are still downstairs," Ana said. "Don't make any excuses and get your butt up here, before I drag you up here myself!" She shouted

He sighs, "Alright. I'll be right up."

"Remember to get your hat and mask," Emilyn reminded him before ending the call.

"Hat and mask?" Ana question. "Why does he need that?"

"We try to keep it low-key, don't want the public to know about us," Emilyn told her.

"You got a lot of explaining to do." She smirks. "Wait, till Finley hear about this." Emilyn groan.

They waited for Christopher, in the meantime; Emilyn sat on the couch tapping her feet on the floor. "I'm going to get that," Emilyn stood up from the couch, as the doorbell ring.

"Go ahead," Ana said with a smug look.

Emilyn sigh and open the door, "Hey." he took out his mask. "What's going on?"

"She found out when she was talking to you in the car," Emilyn said. "She notices my bag and phone on the car seat."

"Both of you get in here!" Ana shouted.

Emilyn steps aside to let Christopher in first before closing the door. "Well, well look what we have here," Ana smirks. "So, what do you guys have to say for yourself." She crosses her arms in front of her.

"Yes, we are together," Emilyn blurted out.

"When?"

"4 days after your engagement party."

"4 days?" Christopher said. Emilyn nudges him to stop talking, but he didn't stop. "It was the day right after the party." She glares at him. "What?" Christopher asked, looking at Emilyn's glaring eyes.

"Pay up." Ana chuckles.

"Fine." Emilyn hesitantly said. "But, I have to give you another time. I don't have any 100 dollar bill in my wallet."

"What is this 100 dollar bill stuff?"Christopher asked.

"We made a bet when are you and Emilyn getting into a relationship," Ana told him. "So, I won. She has to pay up."

"And what to do if she wins?" He asked.

"I'll get her anything she wants to eat."

"See you made me lose my food." Emilyn hit him on the arm. "If you shut your mouth then I'll get to win." She huff.

Christopher digs out his wallet from his trousers and took out a 100 dollar bill. "What are you doing?" Emilyn ask.

"Helping you pay." He passes the 100 dollar bill to Ana.

Emilyn pulls his hand back, "No, I pay it by myself."

"Don't worry, I can help you pay for it." He gives it to Ana and she accepts it.

"Thank you," Ana said with a smile. "Easiest 100 dollars I ever earn." She places it happily in her wallet. "How could you take that so easily?" Emilyn asked her. "He offers, why don't I take it." She shrug.

"I'll pay you back," Emilyn told Christopher.

"No, is fine." He said. "Don't fret."

"Nope, I'm still going to pay you back."

"Don't fight it. You won't win." Ana chuckle. "Stay for dinner?" she asked.

"Uhm...sure." He replies.

"Great, I'm not taking no for an answer." She said and went into the other room to order the food. "I'm getting Chinese." She shouts from the kitchen.

"I don't mind," Christopher shouts back. Emilyn pull him towards the couch and sigh, "What's wrong?" He puts his hand over her shoulder.

"Nothing, is just that it isn't how I want her to find out."

"Then, how do you want her to find out?" He asked with an amused look on his face.

"I don't know, maybe something like we were hanging out and I just blurt it out nice and easy," Emilyn told him.

"But isn't this easier too." He said.

"I guess." She shrug.

"At least, you clear everything to your friends."

"Not yet, there is still Finley."

"Finley?" He asked, frowning his eyebrows. "Is he Ana's fiance?"

"Yeah, he is going to be shocked."

"Hey, Finley check out who is here." Ana came out with her phone in her hands. They turn around to see what is Ana doing.

"Is that Christopher Evans in Emilyn's house?" Finley said.

"Yeah, and you never guess what she just told me," Ana told him and giggle. "I'll let her tell you." She smiles and turns the camera facing Christopher and Emilyn. "Go on tell him." Ana urged.

Emilyn closes her eyes and said, "we are dating." She said. For a while, there was no sound, but then a burst of sudden laughter grew. Emilyn opens her eyes a little to see Finley laughing.

"You got to be kidding me." He laughs even more. "You can't be dating him." He wipes his tears from laughing. "Don't play me like that."

"Is true," Emilyn said. "I'm not joking. Christopher tells him."

"Is true." Christopher intertwines their hands and brings them up and shows them to Finley.

"Oh, you are not joking." Finley stops laughing. "When did this happen?"

"The day after your engagement party," Emilyn told him.

"Oh." He bobbed his head. "When I come back, I want to talk to you." He said.

"Who?" Emilyn asked

"Him." Finley pointed at Christopher.

"Okay, sure. Just tell me when and where I'll be there." Christopher said.

"I'll have Emilyn tell you." He said and end the call.

"Looks like someone is going to get a lecture." Ana sing.
