Chapter 15

14. The Job!

Dark Temptation!

Author's POV

"You are not focusing enough on practice."

Arthur kicked Garry in guts. They were training in the lawn.

Arabella gasped after watching the way they were fighting. Arthur was moving faster than wind, so fast that it was hard to see him clearly due to his quickness. She remembers seeing Oliver fighting the same way.

They both were dangerous and she could just imagine how much they have trained themselves to be so skilled in martial arts.

Arthur's phone rang and he stopped making Garry sigh in relief.

"I need to take this."

He excused himself from Garry and went inside the house.

When he walked inside Arabella called Garry.

"Sir!"

Garry looked at the gate and saw Arabella standing outside. He looked at her confused but went to her.

"Arabella? What are you doing here?"

She grew nervous.

"I want your help."

Garry looked back, scared that Arthur might see her. If he has decided that he doesn't want to do anything with Arabella then he will ask her to leave and after looking at her, he has suspected that she is in trouble. He didn't want to break her innocent heart.

"Come this side!"

He opened the gate and went out.

Arabella followed him away from the gate where Arthur won't see them.

"Is everything okay? And are you sure that you need my help and not Arthur's?"

He was still confused.

She nodded while wiping her nervous sweaty hands on her dress.

"Actually, I am in need of money."

Garry frowned.

"Then I can't do anything in this, Arthur has money not me."

"No, wait!"

She called him growing stressed.

"I am not asking for money... Please listen to me."

She nervously tapped her foot.

"I need money and for that I want to do some job."

Garry nodded in understanding. He felt bad for misunderstanding her.

"Ohh, I see... But Arabella, I don't have a job for you... And do you have any educational documents."

She shook her head.

"No. I had to leave my school but I don't think the job I am asking for needs education."

Garry frowned.

"What job?"

She cleared her throat awkwardly.

"In the morning, I heard that you need a cleaner..."

She said hesitantly and his eyes widened.

"I have done cleaning. I know how to do it."

Garry looked around tense.

"Arthur will kill me if I hire you as a maid."

He can't do that after knowing Arthur was interested in her.

"Why?"

She was confused.

"Does he have some problems with me? Did I do something to anger him?"

His heart wrecked at her innocence.

"No, it's not like that."

He sighed and rubbed his face in dilemma. He gave it a thought but then realised that Arthur was really interested in her and he is turning his back just because she is a minor. Maybe her presence around him would change his mind.

For the first time his friend has shown interest in some girl who is actually innocent and not using him, Garry wanted them to pair up and he was ready to take the risk.

"Okay, we can do that."

He smiled.

"But you are minor, it's illegal to hire you as an employee."

Her face fell.

"I know and that's why I came to you. I thought you already do illegal things so it won't be a problem here."

He laughed at her smart reply.

"Good that you think... By the way, why do you want a job. Anything serious?"

"Matilda, our head nun is in hospital. We need money for her medicine and treatments."

She replied.

"I see!"

He nodded.

"How much are you expecting?"

She couldn't understand how to quote.

"I don't know how to answer that, I have never done this."

He smiled at her naive reply.

"You will be paid well... Don't worry. You can join tomorrow."

She smiled.

"Thank you!"

"My pleasure!"

He nodded in acknowledgement. She turned around and started walking on her way.

"I hope I survive tomorrow morning. Arthur is going to kill me for this."

He huffed.

Arabella went back, the distance between the orphanage and their house was almost twenty five minutes by walk. It was already evening when she reached the orphanage.

"I am not feeling good about this."

Julie said as they went to their respective beds after dinner.

"They are criminals. You know that last time we almost got killed."

Arabella could understand her fear.

"I know. Trust me, I am more scared than you but we need money."

"You are right... But can you do that? I am worried for you."

She was scared and Matilda was also not there to guide them.

"If they wanted to hurt me then they would have done it by now. They know that I am from an orphanage so I don't think it's going to be a problem. I'll just do my job and will come back quickly."

Arabella replied while switching off the lights.

Julie was hesitant.

"You are right and considering your nature, you won't create any problems like me... But still, be careful. I'll ask sister Selena to give you phone for emergency calls..."

Arabella smiled.

"Thank you!"

"So you are saying that they are twins and the second one is a little kind than the first one."

Julie asked curiously.

Arabella sighed.

"I don't know who is more kind and good. But the first one saved me from the bullet and the second one helped me with the money at the right time, he also saved me from my uncle. But does that even matter now, they won't even know that I am working in their house and I'll leave the job when Matilda comes back. Simple!"

She said it but she herself doubted if it was going to be really that simple!

Meanwhile Arthur was laying in his bed and was struggling to sleep. When his eyes were closed, her face was flashing in his mind and when he was opening his eyes, she illusion was teasing him. Nothing has allured him like this before.

"Good that she left. Her presence around me was dangerous."

He sighed.
