Chapter 393
I Am The Luna
Chapter 0393
VALERIE
Zade and I are filling Atticus in on everything we have experienced and weâre up to the part where
Zade managed to get the chip out of me and the Arkan entering.
and he was injured himself. If he hadnât removed my chip at that moment, Iâd have been dead. These
chips are being used against us. Weâre being hunted and these chips are what guide these killers to
our locations.â
Atticus is frowning deeply. The food in front of us is barely touched as we relive and talk about those
dark moments again.
And how did you get injured?â Atticus asks Zade.
âA couple days back I was⦠bored. So I went to find them and managed to track at few down, but
theyâre powerful as if theyâve had professional training and well they used poison against me. They
know our weaknesses, and have far more information than they ever should have been able to
acquire.â
So thatâs how he got injuredâ¦
My heart squeezes with fear. âYou canât go facing danger like that,â I say, trying not to think of what
could have happened. I know itâs my fault. Why else would have done something so reckless? Itâs his
way of venting.
Thatâs something Iâll be talking to him about later. I donât want to lose him. Ever.
I place my hand on his thigh, making him glance at me, once again making my heart skip a beat under
his gaze. This manâs going to give me a heart attack with the effect he has on it.
âAnd why have neither of you told anyone, especially you Valerie? You could have told Zaia, or me.â
Well, things were a little crazy, but I know Zaiaâs been worried and things have been hard already. Zade
did say I needed to.â I admit.
He sighs. âThis is far more serious. It just proves those chips can be hacked by anyone.â
âThat, and/or maybe some higher officials are in on it. You and your people need to make sure the
chipping system is abolished and that the deal to identify oneself is removed as compulsory in
companies, stores and any other public setting. You are all setting up this world for ruin. For our kinds
ruin.â Zade says.
His words are blunt and to the point, but thereâs a heavy truth in them, one that hangs between us.
âIâm calling for a meeting,â Atticus says, taking his phone out. âWe need to speak there. I know you
have not been as active Valerie, but as a member of the Subline, your words will hold power. I would
just suggest maybe keep the fact you two are together on the down low.â
âNo,â I say instantly. âIf who Iâm with is an issue to the council, then thatâs their problem. Besides, Zade
IS my fated mate, chosen for me by the goddess herself. Who are we to argue against that?â
Zade glances at me and although he doesnât react, the expression on his face almost says but you did,
although I know thatâs just my own mind. I still feel guilty.
âI donât think âusâ is anyoneâs problem and what? Do you really want me to attend this soâcalled
meeting?â Zade asks, cocking a brow.
Atticus frowns. âYes, I do. Because you have faced them.â
âAnd why would anyone believe me?â Zade asks.
âThey will. Iâve dropped a message to Zaia. She will sort something out.â
âDo you guys like just leave everything up to her to decide? This entire situation. was her decision,
wasnât it?â Zade asks.
Atticus frowns.
âItâs not Zaiaâs fault. She had a lot to do, and that was a decision that we all felt was right. We needed
to remember what had happened so we didnât make the same mistake.â I say. âBesides, look at it now.
Weâre working together to do what we need to together.â
âYou might not like Zaia, but Valerie and she are the best of friends. You might want to remember that.â
Atticus says with a cocky grin.
âNot exactly the point I was making⦠if youâre a team, why not make your decision as a team⦠why
leave her to do it all? How much do you expect one. person to handle?â he shrugs, downing his glass
of CocaâCola before pouring. another. 5
He has a point⦠it is all on her shouldersâ¦
âThen we come to today. I went to her place in the morning and realised theyâd been in her things, so I
packed it-â Zade is cut off.
âYou stayed the entire night at his place?â Atticus cuts in, now turning to me. âYes, weâre dating,
Atticus? Remember?â Goddess! Are all brothers so weird? âIâm getting a little tired of your constant
highâschool reactions. Want me to finish or shall I stop?â Zade asks, his eyes now flashing blue.
âContinue.â Atticus growls.

âAnd for the record, sheâs my girl, so get used to the idea of seeing her in my room or in my lap.â I blush
at Zadeâs words as Atticusâ jaw ticks in irritation. Zade isnât even packing on the PDA in his presence in
comparison to how Zaia andâa
Iâm cut short when Zade suddenly pulls me up from my seat and into his lap. It gasp, grabbing onto his
shoulder and I find myself staring into his sexy eyes, our noses millimetres apart.
