A week later..
"I haven't seen you smile this hard in a while" "I don't think I've ever seen her really smile" "you'll get used to that. I still remember the time she won the 100m and there still wasn't a smile on her face"
"Shush I got my braces tightened the night before" Sahari lowly explained as she slid on her team sweats over her pros. "And y'all need to stop chatting about me like I'm not in front of y'all" she continued. "Would youse ratha us talk shit behind ya back?" Amara asked putting on her cleats. "Got me there" Sahari mumbled then flinched when they all heard a whistle over the intercom.
They quickly put all of their belongings in their lockers, and Sahari put her cleats around her neck. Then they followed behind the rest of the girls to the track. The trio walked shoulder to shoulder, continuing to lowly talk to each other. Everyone sat in a circle, and watched the coach, and 2 assistant coaches walk up in their winter gear and tablets.
"Good afternoon ladies" "good afternoon coach" "I know y'all can do better than that. I said good afternoon ladies" the teens smiled. "GOOD AFTERNOON COACH" they repeated loudly, well everyone, but Sahari who was wincing from the sudden loudness.
"That's more like it. Now y'all sound like a team that's ready and excited about the 2015 track and field season. As am I, and Coach Ashly, and Trevor. Firstly I wanna again welcome our two freshmen, Lesley and Erin" everyone clapped as the younger girls smiled and blushed. "And our newest addition, our senior, Amara" there was less claps, making Sahari and Amara roll their eyes and shake their heads together.
"The older girls already know this, but we expect the best. You know what you can do, we've watched what you can do. Don't disappoint us" the coach spoke with all seriousness. "Okay everyone stand up and spread out. We're going to start our stretches, and we'll have the captain Alison lead them today"
....
Sleep was the only thing on Sahari's mind as she exhaustedly, and sorely walked out of the school building and to her car. When she was opening her door, she heard two sets of footsteps and laughing. "Hari don't tell me you're going home already? Come join us, we're getting smoothies to celebrate getting through the first practice" Celeste asked her.
"Are you sure?" Sahari asked, her and Celeste only hung out during school and track hours. Her and Amara have never hung out, and only train together.
"Girl yes, we can tell Mara all about our rivals" Celeste excitedly suggested. "Hmm I would love to know about who we're going to beat" Amara made known, talking to both of them but her eyes focused on Celeste.
'Mara? Hmm they've gotten closer' Sahari thought, eyeing the two girls across from her who hadn't left each other's sides since they all met up in the locker room.
Sahari's thoughts started going elsewhere and she quickly stopped them. 'Sahari everyone isn't like that. Don't be a weirdo' she thought and sighed. Then she nodded "I'll follow you" she told Celeste, and Sahari watched as the duo walked to Celeste's car, whispering and giggling to each other.

Home ð
Sahari slightly pouted when she noticed Jayla's car wasn't in the drive way as she pulled in. She grabbed her backpack and track bag, and went inside the house, before she even got fully into the house Juno jogged up to her and immediately started asking questions.
"I've been coached by the same 3 people for 4 years, you already know how it went" Sahari told him as she threw away her empty smoothie cup. When she realized Juno wasn't letting her walk past him without her telling him every single detail, she gave in.
She told him how amazing Amara is even after her injury, and how good it feels as a coach to see her teaching in action. She asked where Jayla was and he told her the grocery store, she wanted to cook Sahari's favorite supper. Red beans and rice with cornbread.
They talked for almost an hour before Sahari made it to her room. She opened her door, but immediately closed it back when she saw Cateleya sleep on her bed. Her heart dropped as her hand went over her mouth. She had been avoiding and dodging Cateleya for a whole week.
She was scared, and it wasn't her usual fright.
She was scared like the day she got caught sneaking food by Yellow. She had that feeling in her stomach that reminded her of when her grandmother caught her with the toy car she found at the park and brought home.
She was scared of knowing how Cateleya saw her after the night they spent together. Scared to know the reasons behind why she wanted to do those acts again. She didn't want to face certain facts about herself that she wished wasn't true.
She did something irreversible with one of her favorite people in the entire world. She wanted to forget about it for a second. She wanted to live in a world where it didn't happen, where she didn't see her mother then let her friend touch her in a intimate way, and then react harshly, and again hurt her friend.
Sahari didn't want to think about what everything meant. She wished she never saw her mother, but she was still stuck about Cateleya. Like she always was. She just wanted to forget about it all for a second.
The second turned into a week.
Sahari didn't realize she was crying until she tasted the saltiness on top of her lip. She wiped her face, and took a deep breath. There was no way to avoid Cateleya now so she was just going to have to face the fact she was about to lose one of her best friends. She slowly opened the door, but quickly saw she didn't need to because Cateleya was still sleep.
Sahari decided this was Gods way of giving her a little extra time to think so she quickly grabbed her pajamas, and got in the shower.
When Cateleya woke up she instantly noticed that Sahari was home. If not from the sound of the shower then Sahari's backpack, now on the floor. She was pissed, and her nap made it worse because she had a dream about Sahari.
She thought of everything she was going to say and she felt ready, but the moment she saw the bathroom door knob turn, she quickly hid under the blankets.
Sahari immediately noticed that Cateleya was up, and for a quick second she thought about going back into the bathroom, but she doesn't.
She instead slowly and hesitantly gets into the bed, she didn't get a reaction from Cateleya until a few seconds later. Cateleya turned to her with watery eyes, and Sarahi feels an overwhelming feeling of guilt. "I-" "you've ignored me for an entire week" "I know, I'm sorry. I just- this whole thing isn't easy for me. I just can't-" "you just can't like me" Cateleya assumes, not bothering to hide the hurt in her face or voice.
"I-" Sarahi words get caught and she sighs. "It's fine. Don't worry about it" Cateleya mumbled, and starts to get out of the bed. Sarahi immediately reaches forward and grabs her waist "I said it isn't easy, b-but I-I still want to try" she shakily admitted, and she gets the urge to throw up, but swallows it.
"Really?" Cateleya asked, searching Sarahi's eyes "yes. I thought about it while I was in the shower. I uh liked everything we did that night" Sarahi lowly admitted. Continuing to swallow her shame and guilt.
"I liked it too" Cateleya shared and Sarahi is surprised when she sees Cateleya look shy for the first time since they were kids. "Can I kiss you again?" Cateleya asked, and Sarahi sees fear in her eyes, but Cateleya sees the same in her eyes. Sarahi nods, using all her energy to say "I would like that"
Cateleya wasted no time putting a finger under her chin, and lifting Sarahi's head to reach her lips. A soft peck makes Cateleya smile then connect their lips again. Her tongue slowly moving into Sarahi's mouth and Sarahi reacts by her thumb pressing into Cateleya's waist. Their tongues fight as Cateleya explores her mouth. She starts to suck on Sarahi's tongue and Sarahi moans into the kiss.
She unconsciously starts to push her pelvis into Cateleya's which makes Cateleya grab her boob, and start groping her.
Sarahi start to feel the ache in her lower area, and pulled away making Cateleya pout which Sarahi immediately pecks out of reflex. "We have to stop, they're just in the living room" Cateleya smirked, and put her head in Sarahi's neck. "Lee" Sarahi softly groaned as she felt kisses then she laughed when Cateleya began to suck.
She put her hand on Cateleya's chest, and gently pushes her. "Jayla will kill me if she sees a hickey on my neck and Ju will help her hide my body" Cateleya snickers while nodding then pecked her lips.
"Then let me suck where she can't see" Cateleya whispered, and her hand cupped Sarahi's pussy. Sarahi feels her face get hot, and she fights her urge to mindlessly agree. "I'm still sore from the other night" she reluctantly admitted, feeling embarrassed. "You don't have to be embarrassed about that" Cateleya told her after being able to read her best friend's face.
"We don't have to. I just can't get you out my head. I just want to feel you on my tongue, taste you and make you feel good. See you shake in my arms with that cute ass smile you do when you're about to- sorry. 'M doing a lot, I don't mean to, I just missed you" Cateleya explained, sighing.
She had to remind herself that this was all new to Sahari. She didn't want to scare Sahari away.
Sarahi didn't say anything. She grabs Cateleya's face and kisses her. Trying to show how hungry she was for her also because she would never be confident enough to say it with words.
"Go lock the door" Sarahi whispered against Cateleya's lips. Cateleya got up so fast that she didn't pay attention to her surroundings and ended up tripping on Sarahi's backpack making them both hysterically laugh.

8:04 pm.
The two cuddled silently, both thinking hard about what just occurred. Cateleya didn't hate it, she didn't hate anything surrounding Sahari, but surprisingly neither did Sahari. She knew she was going to be praying and asking for forgiveness the moment Cateleya left, but right now she wanted to focus on Cateleya.
"I just wanted to tell you it's not personal" Sahari lowly told Cateleya making her lift her head in response. "When I hesitated, you said "you can't like me" and I want you to know that it's not about you. There's not another girl that I'm waiting for that'll show me why I should disobey God or my beliefs. It's about me" "I know that.."
"Do you? It's hard waking up everyday knowing I don't like- it's hard knowing I still don't feel comfortable in dresses or skirts. I fight within myself every single day, from the moment I leave my room to the moment I get back into my bed for the night. It's worse on Sundays or when I'm studying the Bible at night and I look down and see a sports bra and not a padded or push up bra.
There are days where I feel like throwing away everything in my closet and filling it with clothes that I'll hate just to settle some part of me. I don't have to be the part, but I can at least look it right?" Cateleya wiped Sahari's tears as she blinked away her own. "You are going to love femmes" Cateleya softly joked, knowing Sahari had a lot to learn, but she did too. She hoped they could learn together.
"You aren't alone Mi Amor, I promise you" "well it feels like it. I wish I could just be normal then none of this would matter" Sahari mumbled, poking out her bottom lip. "Sahari never say no shit like that again. Straight people are not the standard, I mean just look at our parents... them muthafuckas messed up big time with us" Cateleya reminded.
Sahari faintly nodded, "my mom fucking hates gay people, and I came out her chocha flirting with the pretty ass nurses" Cateleya continued and Sahari playfully rolled her eyes. "It's bobo when I think about it. Like my brother can be a gangbanger, but her catching me with a girl in my room has me walking around with a black eye for a week. Silly ass shit" Cateleya nostrils flared, as she thought about that day.
"What? You never told me about that. I thought you said she just fussed at you and grounded you?" Sahari questioned, "yeah, I only told Ace. I wanted to tell you, but I don't know... I felt like you would agree with what she did" Cateleya explained.
"I- I" Sahari sighed "I don't agree with her blacking your eye, it's not right" "yeah well I'm over it now. I just wanted to show you that straight people can be far from normal. This older lesbian that Ace and I hang with told us that we'll never love ourselves if we look at straight people to be our moral compass and I agree" Cateleya continued.
The word "lesbian" made Sahari flinch, but she hid it well.
"I have something to tell you, but don't get mad" Sahari told Cateleya making her eye the girl that looked nervous. "Do I want to know?" Cateleya asked, "umm it's nothing horrible, but you'll probably be pissed..." "spill"
"After I saw my mom that day... I finally responded back to her texts. We've been texting and getting to know each other" Sahari revealed, while she fiddled with the strings of Cateleya's basketball shorts. Cateleya didn't immediately respond so Sahari gave her a minute to take it in. "Alright" Cateleya mumbled "alright? That's all?"
"I don't know what you want me to say" "so you don't wanna call me stupid?" "I will never call you stupid for wanting to know the woman who birthed you... I might be hypocritical about sum shit, but not that" Cateleya shrugged.
Personally Cateleya didn't understand why Sahari felt the need to know her birth mother especially when Jayla was in the next room making Sahari's favorite supper, but she kept that to herself.
"Maybe not, but I know what you're thinking and it's exactly why I'm not telling them, and I need you to promise you won't either" "I don't know Mi Amor, out of all the people in the world you know I don't like lying to Ju and Jayla and I don't really like being put in the middle of this..." Cateleya made known. "Please Lee. Promise me. I don't ever ask you for anything. I just need this one thing to myself for a little while, I'll tell them soon" Sahari begged.
Cateleya sighed "only if you seal the promise with a kiss" Sahari chessed, putting her head in Cateleya's chest for a few seconds.
She pulled away then put her head up and Cateleya didn't even let her meet her halfway before bending down, resting her hand on Sahari's neck and connecting their lips. Sahari's grip on Cateleya's strings was so tight that she unconsciously pulled Cateleya closer to her.
Lost in their own world for a moment, they both jumped when they heard the door knob twist. "Um why the hell is this door locked and neither one of y'all pay nan bill around this muthafucka?" Jayla asked while she lightly pounded on the door.
The two teens started panicking, both quickly putting on their shirts. "Sorry ma'am I was showing her the new uniforms we got, and I forgot to unlock the door" Cateleya said the first lie that came into her head as she opened the door. "Mhm" Jayla slowly scanned the room as her arms rested on her chest.
"Don't let me found out differently... I heard about you Lee" Jayla mentioned jokingly, but also serious. "Huh? I'm innocent" Cateleya replied as she laughed. Jayla smacked her lips "girl I was born at night, but not last night, I'm not about to play with you" Jayla chuckled.
"And y'all got the window open like it's not cold as hell in here already" Jayla mentioned as she shivered, and closed the window. Cateleya looked down at the floor, slightly bending down as she silently laughed. When Jayla turned around she quickly dropped to the floor "you looking for something?" Jayla asked and Cateleya swallowed her laugh and nodded.
"I asked her to help me find my socks, I think I dropped them under the bed" Sahari lied, and covered her mouth with her blanket when she realized she just lied. "Oh well I just came in here to tell y'all that the food was done. I wrapped some up for you and your baby brother Lee. Babe is ready to take you home whenever you're ready" Jayla announced and Cateleya nodded.
She slid on her Nike slides, catching Sahari's attention "you're leaving now?" She asked, trying not to show too much sadness. "Yeah, might as well. I got homework plus an extra practice in the morning" Cateleya responded, even though she wished to be back in bed cuddling with Sahari.
Sahari pouted and Cateleya had to look away because she wanted to kiss her.
Cateleya grabbed her lanyard, put it around her neck then leaned close to Sahari "I love you Mi Amor" and ignored the urge to kiss her lips by kissing the corner of her mouth. The act still made Sahari close her eye for a seconds.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" "Can't. Bible study" "right forgot" "but I'm free after practice on Saturday" "then I'll see you Saturday?" "Saturday" the two smiled at each other, and Sahari watched as Cateleya grabbed her backpack and left out the room.
"You're glowing Little Mouse, babe said your practice was amazing" Jayla mentioned as she stared at Sahari from the side. "Huh? Ohhh umm yeah" Sahari turned to Jayla and gave her a closed smile. "Well I wanna hear all about it" Jayla said as she slipped off her house shoes, and climbed into the bed. When she got under the covers she instantly snuggled with Sahari.
"Well you know how I've been helping..."
