Chapter 24

"Chaeyoung-ah, are you okay?" Y/N asked her cousin who was in the back seat of her car. She could see through the rear view mirror that Chaeyoung was sulking.

"Chaeyoung-ah?" Y/N asked once again when she didn't get an answer.

"Oh I'm sorry, what did you say?"

"I asked if you're okay." Y/N repeated.

"I'm okay." Chaeyoung sighed. Anyone can tell she's lying.

"Alright, you girls go home now. You have classes tomorrow, so don't stay up too late okay?" Y/N said when they arrived at her house.

"How long are you going to stay at your apartment?" Tzuyu asked.

"I'll come back tomorrow. You girls don't worry about me."

"Okay." Tzuyu sighed and with that Chaeyoung and Tzuyu left the car leaving Y/N and Nayeon behind.

"You're very quiet." Y/N noticed when they were back on the road. Nayeon's been quiet the whole ride.

"Can you take me to a hotel?"

"Hotel?" Y/N raised her eyebrows.

"Yes, just the nearest hotel. Wherever it is."

"Why a hotel suddenly?" Y/N got confused.

"I just want to stay there."

"No." Y/N shook her head.

"What? Did you just say no?" Nayeon looked at Y/N for the first time this car ride.

"Yes, I said no. You don't even have money on you. How will you pay for it?" Y/N questioned. How can she leave Nayeon at an unknown hotel late in the evening?

"I'll figure it out."

"You don't have any clothes either. You're wearing mine." Y/N reminded her.

"Why can't you just do what I tell you to do?" Nayeon asked harshly. Y/N is a bit taken aback. The only time Nayeon talked to her like this was when they first met.

"Because it's not safe. I'm not going to leave you at a hotel. You're going to stay at my apartment wether you like it or not."

"You're so fucking bossy all the time. Stop acting like you have control over me." Y/N's eyes widened upon hearing that. She kept silent for about a minute until she decided to pull over to the side of the road.

"What is this about?" Y/N asked.

"Nothing. Just keep driving." Nayeon shrugged it off.

"What did I do to you for you to suddenly act like this?" Y/N knows that Nayeon got jealous but isn't this a bit too much?

"You keep telling me what to do and what not to do. You're not my girlfriend nor my friend, so stop acting like you have a say in my life."

"You didn't have a problem with that until now. Why is it a problem now?" Y/N raised her eyebrows.

"Tell me, why are you letting me stay at your apartment?"

"To keep you safe. Do you expect me to leave you on the streets?"

"It's not your job to keep me safe!" Nayeon suddenly yelled.

"Then who's job is it?! Is there anyone else that's trying to protect you? I want to protect you. Why won't you just let me!?" Y/N yelled back. It's rare to hear Y/N yell like this so hell yeah Nayeon was taken aback.

"Because this is all an act! Stop acting like you care about me because I know you don't!" Nayeon yelled once again and silence followed afterwards. Y/N didn't really know what to say. She can't deny nor confirm Nayeon's statement.

"See? You're not even denying it. Just take me to a hotel please. I don't want to be around you." Nayeon demanded weakly. Y/N started the engine and went back to the road.

"Why are we here? I asked you to bring me to a hotel." Nayeon asked when they arrived at Y/N's apartment.

"And I already said no. Now let's go, unless you want to sleep in the car." Y/N said and got out of the car. Nayeon had no choice but to follow. She could go to a hotel herself, but the chance that reporters will see her is pretty high.

"You know I get that you're jealous but isn't this a bit too much?" Y/N asked once they entered the apartment.

"Jealous? Who said I'm jealous?" Nayeon denied.

"Then why are you acting like this?" Y/N is quite annoyed by this.

"Just leave me alone." Nayeon was about to walk away but Y/N stopped her by holding her arm.

"I get that you don't like Irene, but there's no need to be mad at me. I didn't do anything."

"Do you like her? Do you like Irene?" Nayeon asked out of the blue. Y/N knew that this was about her.

"No, we were friends in the past that's all." Y/N denied. It's the truth though, the two never had interest in each other like that.

"Then why were you blushing? Why were you two flirting?" Nayeon asked in a scary tone.

"That's just how the two of us are. But wait a minute, why do I have to explain myself to you?" Y/N furrowed her eyebrows.

"You don't. You didn't do anything, I'm the one that's stupid enough to think that you actually care about me."

"I do care about you. Wether you want to believe it or not, I care about you." Y/N approached her but something about her tone lacked sincerity.

"Look Y/N. I don't know what your intentions are. I don't know wether you like Irene, Sana, Minho or someone else and I don't really care about that but please stop acting sweet towards me. We had a one night stand and that's it, okay? Nothing more will come from this."

"Is that why you got jealous? Because it was just a one night stand?"

"Y/N please stop. It doesn't matter."

"It matters to me. I know that it wasn't just a one night stand to you." Y/N informed.

"So what? What would you do if I tell you that you're right? What would you do if I tell you that it meant more to me? What would you do if I fucking told you that I think about you every single day?" Nayeon pushed Y/N's chest lightly and Y/N couldn't answer. Silence overtook her because she does't know what she would do.

"That's what I thought." Nayeon said weakly and walked to the bedroom.

Y/N wanted to make Nayeon like her, but why is she feeling so bad about this? She doesn't want to break Nayeon's heart even though it'll get broken in the end. Why is she herself feeling things that she has never felt before? It can't be that she likes Nayeon back, right?

"Aish, what am I gonna do?" Y/N asked herself and laid down on the couch.

It's already 3am and Nayeon still can't sleep. Why does she feel her heart breaking right now? Seeing how Irene flirted with Y/N really did something to her. But what affected her even more was how Y/N acted just a while ago. She knows Y/N isn't serious with her. She knows that even if Chou Y/N likes her back, she'll never initiate something more because that's just how Y/N is. She doesn't want to like people, she doesn't want to let people in and she definitely doesn't want a relationship and Nayeon knows that very well. Why did Nayeon have to fall for someone like that?

Since Nayeon got bored because she can't sleep she decided to go to the kitchen to get some water. Right when she was going to go back to the bedroom she heard some voices coming from the couch where Y/N is sleeping on. She went closer and it looked like Y/N is having a nightmare.

"No, no, no. I didn't... I didn't kill them. I DIDN'T!!" Y/N suddenly started to yell in her sleep. Nayeon immediately went closer and tried to wake the CEO up.

"Y/N! Y/N! Wake up!" Nayeon shook her shoulders and Y/N suddenly opened her eyes, breathing heavily.

"What happened? Are you okay?" Nayeon caressed her hair. Y/N is all sweaty and she looks pale. It must have been a very bad nightmare.

"I'm okay, I'm okay." Y/N inhaled and exhaled deeply.

"Did you have a nightmare?"

"Yeah, it just happens sometimes." Y/N shook her head. She can't believe that Nayeon had to see this. She has these kind of nightmares at least once a month.

"Just go back to sleep."

"Are you sure you're okay?" Nayeon asked once again.

"Yeah, Nayeon-ssi. I'm sorry I disturbed your sleep."

"You didn't. Don't worry." Nayeon said and was about to walk away.

"Wait... Can you stay with me for just a minute?" The CEO asked with pleading eyes. Nayeon really wanted to say no, but how can she when Y/N looks so vulnerable? So she ended up nodding and sitting next to Y/N on the couch.

"What was the nightmare about?" Nayeon questioned.

"I can't quite remember."

"Look, Nayeon-ssi, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for us to have a one night stand and if I knew that you were going to be affected by it, I wouldn't have done it." Y/N informed.

"It's okay. We both wanted it at that moment."

"You asked me what I would do if you told me that you think about me every single day. I would tell you that I think about you every single day as well. I don't know why I do, but I just do." Y/N lied. It's not true but she can't have Nayeon being mad at her right now. Her goal is to make Nayeon trust her not to make her mad.

"Look, I didn't lie when I said that I care about you. Ever since I saw your brother acting like an asshole to you, I've felt the urge to protect you. I don't know how I ended up caring for you but I just do." Y/N went closer to Nayeon and caressed her cheek. Nayeon looked into Y/N's eyes and Y/N seems pretty vulnerable right now. Nayeon has never seen her like this before.

"You don't care about me, you just feel sorry for me because I have a shitty life." Nayeon said weakly, almost whispering.

"No, I care about you because of who you are. We've been working with each other for some time now and I've seen things about you that I'm sure that you've never shown anyone else before."

"I don't want to get my heart broken again." Nayeon pushed Y/N lightly once again. All the people she trusted before have either used her or hurt her so how can she let Y/N in?

"Who said that I'll break your heart?"

"You'll break my heart because... I like you..." Nayeon sighed and Y/N kept quiet for a few seconds. She didn't expect for Nayeon to admit it. Y/N is debating with herself on what to answer right now.

"I like you too." Part of her is telling her that she's lying yet another part of her tells her that it's the truth. Truth is Y/N doesn't know if she really likes Nayeon. It's true that she has never felt about anyone like this before, but she doesn't know what that feeling is. She had no choice but to lie right now. Either she tells her that she likes her or she rejects her, which will ruin her entire plan. Y/N can't take that risk since this is probably her only chance at revenge.

"R-really?" Nayeon stuttered. She was expecting to hear "I'm sorry I don't like you.", so she's taken aback.

"Yes. I wouldn't have had sex with you, if I didn't feel more towards you, Nayeon-ah. I'm not the type of woman to go around and have one night stands." Y/N went closer and cupped Nayeon's cheeks.

"Do you really like me?" Nayeon asked for confirmation. Her heart might jump out of her chest because of how nervous she is.

"Yes. I like you." Y/N lied but because she's such a good liar, anyone would believe her.

"In fact, I really like you, Nayeon-ie." Y/N said as she looked at Nayeon's lips. She's feeling the urge to kiss Nayeon right now, so she did. She crashed her lips onto Nayeon's and kissed her slowly and passionately. Nayeon immediately responded. Their lips are moving in sync and Nayeon couldn't be happier that Y/N actually likes her back. Little did she know that it was all just a game to Y/N...
