Chapter 52

The party is still going and Y/N is actually having some fun with her sisters, cousin and Sana. Mina joins them from time to time but she can't be always with them since she needs to join the other guests as well.

"I'm going to the bathroom." Y/N informed.

"Do you want me to come with you?" Sana asked.

"No, stay here. I'll be right back." Y/N smiled and left the place to go to the bathroom. She did her business and is now fixing her hair in front of the mirror. While she was fixing her hair, the one person that she doesn't want to face right now walked into the bathroom. Y/N immediately stopped fixing herself and prepared herself to leave.

"Chou Y/N." Nayeon said stopping Y/N.

"Im Nayeon." Y/N turned around to face her.

"Running away from me?" Nayeon questioned.

"No, I'm done here so I'm going back to my friends if you'd excuse me."

"Isn't it ironic? The first time we met was at a party and now we're meeting back again at a party." Nayeon laughed. Y/N really hates when Nayeon acts like this. It's the same way how Nayeon acted when they first met.

"Yeah, I think it was just bad luck." Y/N stated harshly which made Nayeon laugh. Y/N stared at her in disbelief. What is Nayeon trying to do?

"I'm going." Y/N said and tried to leave but Nayeon held her wrist stopping her. Y/N immediately pulled her arm away. Y/N is already known in the whole country for assaulting Nayeon, if someone sees this scene then it's all over for her.

"Why do you look so worked up? Are you sad because what you said didn't happen? As you can see I'm still the CEO of ImTech."

"I didn't say that they would bring you down immediately. It's been only three months Nayeon. It could take them another three months or maybe another three years. But I'm still standing behind what I said that day." Y/N didn't change a bit in Nayeon's eyes. She's still charming, calm and polite despite everything that happened between them.

"Too bad you'll never see that day."

"Y/N?" Sana walked into the bathroom. Y/N was taking too long so she decided to check on her. The moment she saw Nayeon her fist tightened.

"Are you done?" Sana asked.

"Yeah, I'm done. Let's go." Y/N said and Sana held Y/N's hand walking away.

"Fuck." Nayeon cursed herself out. She doesn't even know why she approached Y/N like that. The bitch in her took over and decided to challenge Y/N a bit. Ever since what happened, Nayeon has changed. Well, not entirely. She wants everyone to think that she's strong and that she can't be hurt. That's why she's basically acting like a bitch.

"You should leave Y/N alone." A voice said from behind and Nayeon turned to see Jihyo. "You did her enough harm. Are you trying to hurt her even more?"

"I'm not trying to do anything. We just talked, that's all." Nayeon fake smiled.

"I don't think you're realizing that what you did was wrong in so many ways."

"It's what she deserved." The CEO stated.

"She didn't deserve any of your false accusations. She never planned to take something away from you and as for your family, they got what they deserved. The law decided it. Not Y/N." Jihyo is slowly starting to get annoyed.

"You're wasting my time, Jihyo-ssi. I did what I had to do to save my company and I don't regret any of it." Nayeon smiled and left the place.

The next day Y/N was all over the news. It was her first appearance in three months, so it's natural that she drew some attention. However what drew even more attention is the fact that she and Nayeon were at the same party. People are questioning wether the two are okay now.

"Good morning, Ms. Chou." Dahyun smiled when Y/N walked into the company.

"Good morning, Dahyun-ah."

"Uhm you have a guest waiting for you in your office."

"Oh really? Who is it? Never mind, don't tell me. I'll see myself." Y/N patted Dahyun's arm and walked away.

"But Ms. Chou..." Dahyun tried to protest but with no success. Y/N is not going to like what she's going to see.

Y/N walked into her office and when she saw who the guest was, she wished that she didn't cut Dahyun off when she wanted to tell her who it was. If she knew that Nayeon was here, she would have told security to make her leave. But now it's too late, she's already inside.

"What are you doing here?" Y/N asked as she closed the door. People can't see that Nayeon is here. They might misunderstand.

"Well, that's not a very warm welcome." The woman chuckled.

"Are you crazy? Why would you come here?" Y/N asked in worry. She just started to clear her name, she doesn't need another scandal.

"I'm actually doing you a favor by coming here. You should be thanking me. I'm sure you've seen the news, we're the talk of the town again. Some reporters saw me coming here so it will make them think that everything is okay now."

"Or they're going to think that I'm assaulting you right now." Y/N said sitting down. It's clear that Nayeon wants something. Y/N needs to be careful with what she does and says, after all this might be a trap.

"Relax, why are you so worked up?" Nayeon laughed.

"Can you just tell me what you're here for?"

"I'm here to offer you a business deal." Nayeon finally turned serious.

"A business deal?" Y/N laughed. "I thought we agreed on cutting all ties between Chou Holdings and ImTech. What makes you think that I'd become business partners with you again?"

"You kinda need it. It would clear your name and save your reputation."

"I don't need your help to save my reputation. After all the reason why my reputation got harmed is because of your false accusations and now you're here offering me a deal making it seem like you're the good guy, huh?"

"I already told you it was a misunderstanding. We figured it all out right? I mean that's what everyone thinks. Just accept my offer. I'm trying to help." ImTech's CEO answered.

"This isn't a game, Nayeon-ssi. For the past three months I've been working 24/7 just to clear my name and save my company. You might not realize how much harm you did to me, but it's way more than you think." Y/N is really frustrated with Nayeon right now.

"Stop acting like a victim all the time. You're acting as if you didn't do me any harm." Nayeon is slowly starting to get annoyed as well.

"Can you even compare those things to each other? I used you to do something good. Thanks to you, I managed to put two criminals into jail. Thanks to you I got justice for the death of my birth mother. Thanks to you there are now two dangerous people inside. I didn't use you with bad intentions. The only thing I wanted was justice and I changed my plans right away when I fell or you. But you? You accused me falsely of assaulting and forcing you in front of the whole country. And you did it after we dated. At least when I used you, I didn't even know who you were."

"I couldn't go in public for three months, I've been struggling financially and my family was also getting judged because of me." Y/N decided to approach this in a calm way. Maybe if she explains it slowly and calmly, Nayeon might realize what Y/N is going through.

"You didn't just play with my reputation and my company but you also played with our wealthiness. Luckily I managed to get things back in track but do you realize what could've happened if I hadn't worked day and night to fix this? Me and my family, all of us would've been on the streets right now without a single penny. Now tell me, am I still acting like a victim? I'm paying for something that I didn't even do." Hearing this Nayeon kept quiet. She knows very well that what she did doesn't compare to what Y/N did, but she realized it way too late.

"You played with my feelings and cheated on me." Nayeon reminded her.

"I didn't cheat on you. Can't you understand? I would tell you if I had done it, but I didn't."

"Then why are you so close to Sana now? I mean the two of you were all over each other at the party. Are you two dating?" Nayeon's heart breaks just thinking about the two again.

"That's none of your business." Why would she even tell Nayeon what her relationship is with Sana?

"So you are, huh." Nayeon chuckled. "I can't believe this."

"You looked very happy with your boyfriend at the party. I'm glad he's taking care of you." Y/N diverted the attention to her.

"Yeah, I'm perfectly happy." Nayeon smiled but something in her voice felt off. "You seem happy too."

"Yeah, I am." Y/N simply answered. Of course she's not happy, she's been living a nightmare thanks to that scandal. Luckily it's better now.

"None of these would have happened if you had just sold your shares. I did what I had to do to save my company. I'm not stupid. You were going to destroy ImTech if you still had those shares." Y/N chuckled upon hearing that.

"Do you really think I need shares in your company to destroy it? It seems like you don't know me at all. If I really wanted to destroy ImTech, I would have already done it. I didn't sell you my shares for you to drop the charges. Even if I had faced a lawsuit, I wouldn't have been charged guilty because of the lack of evidence. So I absolutely had no reason to sell them to you."

"Then why did you?"

"For you to believe me and to prove to you that I wasn't lying." Nayeon doesn't know if Y/N is talking bullshit right now but she has a feeling that Y/N is actually telling the truth.

"Look I'm not here to talk about the past. I just wanted to offer you a deal."

"My answer is no. Do you really expect me to trust someone that betrayed me? I'm not like you, I can't go around and trust people that have betrayed me." Y/N said referring to Nayeon trusting her father and Jin.

"Fine then. It's your loss, Chou Y/N. I'm leaving now." Nayeon stood up and left. The moment Nayeon left, Y/N threw the pen that was in her hand on her table. She never gets easily frustrated but Nayeon really went over the line this time.

"What the fuck was she doing here?" Tzuyu and Jihyo walked in the office about a minute after Nayeon left. They saw Nayeon leaving the office so they immediately came here.

"She was here to offer me a business deal."

"What? How can she be so shameless?." Jihyo furrowed her eyebrows.

"Did she say something else?" Tzuyu asked.

"She kept reminding me of the past." Y/N sighed.

"Ms. Chou? Can I come in?" Dahyun asked.

"Yeah, come in. What's wrong?"

"I actually found out something very important. I think you might be interested in this."

"What is it about?" Y/N asked.

"ImTech." Dahyun said a bit worried.

"I don't want to know anything about that company." She's been ignoring all news and information about ImTech for three months now. She doesn't want anything to do with it.

"But Ms. Chou..."

"No, Dahyun-ah. Just keep it to yourself. I'm going to get some fresh air." Y/N stood up and left the office.

"What is it that you found Dahyun-ah?" Jihyo asked.

"It's about Im Nayeon's shares. I did some hacking and researching and realized that something was fishy with the amount of shares Im Nayeon has. Turns out that she doesn't have as many shares as she thinks."

"What do you mean?" Tzuyu asked.

"Her father gave his shares to someone else, not to Nayeon."

"But didn't they say that Nayeon recieved his shares?" Jihyo asked.

"Exactly, everyone thinks she did, even she herself. She doesn't know that her father actually gave his shares to Park Jinyoung."

"Oww, now this is interesting." Tzuyu smirked.

"Im Nayeon has only half of the shares that she thinks she has. Meaning she only has the shares that Ms. Chou gave her. Her father's shares belong to Jinyoung."

"Seems like Y/N was right after all. They're definitely planning something." Jihyo stated.

"Should we tell unnie?" Tzuyu asked.

"Good luck with that. She doesn't even want to hear the name of ImTech. She asked me to stop gathering information three months ago but I didn't just in case." Dahyun informed.

"I don't think we should tell her." Jihyo shook her head. "Y/N might want to stop whatever Jinyoung and Mr. Im are trying to do. It's for her own best to not get involved with them again."

"How about Nayeon? I mean she could end up on the streets." Tzuyu asked.

"She kinda deserves it for not believing Y/N. She warned her yet Nayeon decided to believe her stupid father and brother. Maybe this will make her realize that Y/N was just trying to protect her." Jihyo said and the others agreed.

"Where the fuck were you?" Jinyoung asked the moment Nayeon stepped into her office.

"Home."

"Stop lying, I know you went to Chou Holdings. It's all over the news." Jinyoung said in frustration.

"So? I can do what I want."

"Didn't we tell you to not get involved with her again?"

"Chill, I was just there to annoy her." Nayeon said.

"Don't you dare going back there." Jinyoung held Nayeon's wrist harshly.

"You can't tell me what to do!" Nayeon freed herself from his grip.

"I can. I'm your fucking boyfriend for God's sake!"

"You know very well that the reason why I'm dating you is because I have to, not because I want to." They're obviously fake dating, he doesn't have the right to get mad like this.

"Even if you don't want to, you're going to have to listen to me. You can't see that Y/N girl again, understood?"

"For the last time. You can't tell me what to do." Nayeon gritted her teeth. He's been acting like a possessive boyfriend ever since the party.

"You still have feelings for her, don't you?" He chuckled.

"What the fuck, no. Why would you even think that?"

"The way you kept looking at her at the party. The way you keep watching the news because of her. And the way that you REGRET betraying her all show that you do." He emphasized.

"I don't regret anything. This is everything I ever wanted. I finally became the CEO and I don't want anything else." Nayeon informed but she knows very well that she's lying. She thought all her life that once she becomes the CEO, she'll be happy. It's the only thing that she wanted. But truth be told, she's not happy at all. Turns out that this isn't the thing that makes her happy.

"So you would be okay if I you know make Y/N disappear?" He smirked.

"What the fuck are you saying?" Nayeon approached him with furrowed eyebrows.

"You said that you don't have feelings for her so that means you won't mind if she disappears."

"Don't you dare touch her." Nayeon warned.

"Your actions and words don't really match with each other, Nayeon-ssi." He laughed. He knows very well that Y/N is her weak spot and that she still has feelings for the woman.

"I swear to God, if you hurt her, I will kill you myself."

"Then stop seeing her. Stop seeing her and I'll spare her." He threatened.

"You're really threatening me now, huh?"

"You're leaving me no choice. You're mine, not hers. I won't let her take you away from me." He stated.

"You know what? Fine. I won't see her. Just don't hurt her. We did her enough harm." Nayeon sighed. The way Y/N talked to her today, made Nayeon see how much she actually hurt her. If Nayeon were someone else, Y/N would have taken revenge already but she didn't. Nayeon can't seem to understand why she didn't. Y/N is way smarter and way more powerful than her, yet she's not using her skills against Nayeon. Nayeon can't help but start to think that Y/N actually wanted to protect her.

"You should move on from her. You two have no future anymore. Especially not after this." He smirked.

Nayeon was just working in her office when Momo suddenly came in.

"Ms. Im, Sana Minatozaki is here to see you."

"Sana?" Nayeon raised her eyebrows. What is she doing here? "Let her in." Nayeon said and Momo let her in.

"It's my first time coming here since you're the CEO. Nice office by the way." Sana laughed.

"Thanks. Why are you here?"

"Well, that's a bit harsh. I'm just here to see how you're doing. You know we used to be friends but somehow we drifted apart."

"I'm pretty sure you know why." Nayeon rolled her eyes.

"There are multiple reasons. One, our parents had an affair and two, you revealed their affair." Sana remembered as she counted on her fingers. "And ah yes, the third reason will be Y/N I'm guessing."

"Are you here to rub it in my face?" Nayeon is getting angry. She hates to be reminded of what happened.

"Of course not. I heard you went to talk to her today. She wasn't very happy to see you, you know."

"Do I look like I care?" Nayeon raised her eyebrows.

"Hmm, yeah you kinda seem affected by it."

"Look, I don't care what you're doing with Y/N now. I have a boyfriend and I'm happy." The CEO stated.

"Well, that's good to hear. I'm just here to tell you to leave Y/N alone. I care about her and she's miserable because of you. Don't you dare come back in her life and hurt her again." This is the third person already that is telling Nayeon to stay away from Y/N. The more she hears this, the more she wants to disobey.

"Don't worry, I have no interest in Y/N."

"Good. Since we're friends I decided to do it in a calm way." The lawyer fake smiled.

"Friends, huh? If you were my friend, you wouldn't have fucked my girlfriend."

"I think you got it all wrong, Nayeon-ssi. Y/N and I didn't start fucking around until after you two broke up. She came to me to heal her heart, that you broke by the way." She laughed and Nayeon just stared at her. Would Sana be telling the truth? Did Y/N actually really not cheat on her? I mean if she had done that, then Sana would be here talking about it proudly but she's not doing any of that. It would even make more sense for Sana to lie and say that Y/N cheated because that's just how she is. She likes to see Nayeon suffer.

"You kept flirting with her when we were dating." Nayeon remembered.

"Yeah, I did but Y/N didn't pay attention to me at all. I should be thanking you actually. Thanks to you, she's paying attention to me now." The lawyer smiled. "Anyways, I should go now. It's getting late."

"Goodbye." Nayeon stated in a not so friendly way.

"Bye, Nayeon-ssi." Sana smiled and left. Nayeon is left here dumbfounded. She's starting to believe that Y/N didn't cheat on her. There is actually not even any proof that Y/N really cheated on her. It was just her own assumptions, could they be wrong?

"She didn't cheat on me?" Nayeon whispered to herself. It's too late to regret things now. It still doesn't change the fact that Y/N used her and wanted to destroy ImTech. She needs to show the entire world including Y/N that no one can bring her down and that Y/N was wrong about her father and Jin wanting to bring her down. She's very sure that she'll be the CEO of this company for a long time. After all it's the only thing she has left.
