Abel arrived at Starhill Garden half an hour later to pick up Emmeline. The two of them. then went to Levan Mansion.
Lunch was already set on the table, and the children were seated around it.
The four little ones didnât have to go to kindergarten today because it was the weekend.
Nowadays, even kindergartens assign homework, making it seem as if the children are in elementary school.
âDaddy, Mommy,â Timothy began solemnly, blinking his obsidian-like eyes, âdo you know. why Grandad and Granny invited you here today?â
Emmeline and Abel were certain in their hearts. The following day was Old Mr. Rykerâs birthday, and they were invited to discuss the celebrations. Was there anything they overlooked?
At this important gathering, all of the guests would see them. They couldnât afford to be careless.
However, Emmeline and Abel pretended not to know and teased the four children.
âMommy doesnât know; whatâs the matter?â
âDaddy doesnât know either. Daddy didnât do anything wrong, right? Are Grandad and Granny going to punish Daddy?â
âNo way,â Sun grumbled. âDaddy is the best daddy, and Grandad and Granny know it, so how could they bear to punish you?â
âThen what is it?â Abel asked, his heart melting as he glanced at the childrenâs beautiful features.
âGuess?â Moon asked, tilting her head, âYou can guess with me.â
âThere will be a reward if you guess correctly,â Star said, clapping his chubby hands. âI have a lot of prizes that I made myself, and if Daddy and Mommy guess correctly, they can go to my room and pick one.â
âWow! Is there such a good thing?â Emmeline asked, blinking her eyes excitedly. âThen I have to make Daddy guess hard, and Iâll help him guess as well, and if we guess correctly, we can go to Starâs room and pick a prize!â
âLet me guess.â Abelâs starry eyes fluttered, his face innocent. âDid Grandad become wealthy?â
âHahaha,â the four kids chuckled. âDaddyâs eyes are filled with dollar signs.â
âThen it must beâ¦â Emmeline said, âGranny is becoming more and more beautiful.â
âHahaha!â the four children laughed again. âGranny is indeed becoming more and more beautiful, but Mommy guessed wrong.â
Rosaline stood next to them, smiling as she watched the familyâs laughter.
âWhat could it be, then?â Emmeline pouted, seeming to be confused.
âLet me make a guess,â Abel said. âIs it because you were praised again in kindergarten? Did you get a little sticker?â
âThatâs nothing,â Timothy replied, patting his chest. âAll four of us brothers get praised every day.â
âThatâs right,â Sun confirmed. âEvery day, we get a small sticker; nothing special.â
âI received seven last week,â Moon revealed. âOne per day!â
âMe, too,â Star replied. âI have received more than anyone else in our class!â
âSo, you still havenât guessed?â Abel asked, his brow wrinkled. âItâs really difficult.â
âDaddy, Iâll give you a hint,â Timothy explained. âThink about your great-great-grandfather.â
âGreat-grandfather?â Abel asked, shocked. âIs there something good happening with my great-
grandfather?â
âOh, youâre getting close!â she said, clapping her hands.
âDaddy, keep going; youâre getting closer to the answer!â exclaimed Moon and Star.
âThe final victory is entirely up to you, Mommy,â Abel stated. âMommy, itâs your turn to make a guess.â
âI guessâ¦â Emmeline blinked several times. Iâm guessing it must be my great-grandfatherâs birthday, right?â
âWow, Mom is incredible!â
âMommy guessed correctly!â
âWeâll give Mommy a reward later!â
âMommy got it right; itâs my great-grandfatherâs birthday!â
âOh, it was so difficult!â Emmeline pretended to wipe her brow, âbut I finally guessed it!â
âDaddy will reward Mommy!â Abel exclaimed, leaning down to kiss Emmeline on the cheek.
âDaddy is being affectionate!â Munchkin whispered as they covered their eyes, âWe havenât eaten yet;
donât make us eat dog food!â
