Luanâs POV
âWho the hell are you?!â I growled at the man as I was restrained by his men.
I was caught off guard when they suddenly came.
It was too late to do anything and I was quickly captured.
They just suddenly came in the palace.
They appeared out of nowhere.
There was no warning whatsoever.
They had easily infiltrated the palace.
I can hear the rest of my men outside as they try to go inside the palace but they couldnât.
It seems like all possible entrances were blocked from the outside.
That only means that this whole thing was planned thoroughly.
The unknown man just eyed me but didnât speak.
âI said who are you?!â I growled angrily.
He turned his back from me and looked at a different direction.
I looked at the direction where his attention.
My eyes slightly widened as I watched a woman make her way down to us.
Liviana?
No, thatâs not possible.
But how come she looks so much like someone I know?
Suddenly, an image popped into my head.
Diana White?
Livianaâs mother?
How is this possible?
But how come she hasnât aged much considering itâs been 21 years?
I donât think itâs possible.
Then is she Livianaâs?
Is she my mate?
But she looks so different from the Liviana that I know.
This woman had silver hair and her eyes were gold.
Or so they appeared to be.
Who is she?
And why does she make my heart beat so rapidly?
Is she really who I think she is?
Or is it because I want to believe sheâs the person I think she is?
She kept a neutral expression on her face as she made her way down.
Then, I saw her clench her fists as she looked away from me.
She looked at direction of my father and I saw how her jaw clenched and her eyes darkened.
Her eyes sent shivers down my spine.
Then, her hands suddenly lit up.
My eyes widened in shock like my men.
But the ones who captured us looked at her as if it was something they could see everyday.
âYou fcking monster!â she suddenly growled when she reached my father.
She held him by the neck while her hands were on fire.
My fatherâs eyes widened in shock and fear as he looked at her.
I tried to break free to help my father but couldnât.
Her hand burned his skin and he screamed in pain.
I wanted to stop her but couldnât.
âLiviana!â the man who captured me shouted as he rushed to her side.
My eyes widened.
Did I just hear him correctly?
He called her Liviana.
I looked at her direction as my heart started beating uncontrollably inside of my chest.
I couldnât speak as I just stared at her.
It really is Liviana.
My mate.
My mate is alive.
I watched as he pulled Liviana off of my father by the waist and held her close to him.
âAHHHHH! Let me go!â Liviana screamed.
Then, the ground suddenly shook beneath our feet and a strong wind circulated around the room.
What was happening?
Was Liviana the one causing all of this?
How?
âLiviana!â the man said again.
Then, he held Livianaâs face and forcibly made her face him.
Livianaâs chest heaved up and down.
She looked livid.
The man held her by the waist with one arm and the other held her face.
My brows furrowed as I clenched my fists.
Why was he so close to her?
âLook at meâ he said to Liviana.
Who is he to her?
âLivianaâ he called her again.
Liviana still looked out of it.
âHeyâ he called her softly as he tapped her face.
Liviana looked at him.
My heart sank at the way she looked at him.
He gave her a small smile.
âBreatheâ he told hersoftly.
Liviana gulped as she took a deep breath.
It was like they were in their own little world.
âThatâs it. Breatheâ he said looking into her eyes.
Just them.
No one else but them.
We watched as Liviana took deep calming breaths.
Then, the fire in her hand dissipated and her eyes turned back to its normal blue.
Livianaâ¦
My Liviana.
âGood girlâ he said to her and brushed his thumb on her cheek with a smile.
My jaw clenched in jealousy.
Liviana sighed as she placed her forehead on the manâs chest and closed her eyes.
My heart clenched inside of my chest.
She looked safe with him.
They remained like that for a while.
Then, Liviana raised her head again and looked around as he let her go.
Everyone was looking at her in shock and fear while my her men remained still.
Then, her eyes met with mine.
I looked at het wide eyed as I stared straight into her blue eyes.
I saw her gulp.
âLivianaâ I muttered and tried to go to her but her men stopped me.
I struggled to get out of their hold.
âLiviana!â I shouted as I tried to get out from her men.
Liviana bit her lower l*p as she looked away.
âLet me go! Liviana!â I shouted again.
I just want to hold her.
âLiviana! Pleaseâ I said and she looked at me again.
I just want to talk to her.
I just want her by my side.
After years of hoping that she was still alive, sheâs finally back.
But I canât even hold her in my arms.
My eyes watered as I struggled to go to her.
I just wanted to hug her and k**s her.
Tell her how much I missed her.
Tell her how much I love her.
And that Iâm sorry I couldnât protect her.
Liviana clenched her fists as she turned her back on me.
Noâ¦please.
Livianaâ¦
âLiviana!â I screamed again.
Please, look at me.
Please, talk to me.
Pleaseâ¦
Livina glanced at the direction of my father.
Her eyes had already turned back into golden ones.
My father had a burn on his neck that was slowly healing while Livianaâs men restrained him.
âLetâs have a duelâ Liviana suddenly said.
âA fight to the deathâ she added.
My eyes widened.
A fight to the death?
No.
She canât.
She shouldnât.
I donât want her to get hurt.
I looked around and none of Livianaâs men reacted.
They didnât seem a tad bit worried about her.
I looked at Liviana again.
I watched as she moved her hands and water suddenly came out of nowhere and went to my fatherâs burned neck healing him.
My mouth slightly gaped open.
How?
âLet him goâ Liviana told her men.
They did as they were told.
My father touched his neck and his eyes widened when he realized that his burn completely healed.
I tried to get out from their hold but still couldnât.
Fck!
âA duel in our human formâ Liviana said.
My father smirked at her.
âArenât you being too confident? Or is it because you know you can use whatever tricks that you have against meâ he said and pointed at Liviana.
Liviana raised a brow at him.
âI wouldnât waste my energy in using my abilities in a mere duel with you. I can take you down with my eyes closedâ she said.
My father chuckled.
âHow can a mere she-wolf go against me and win?â he said smugly.
I needed to stop them.
Liviana chuckled in disbelief.
âYou irk meâ Liviana said.
âYouâre all wordsâ she added.
My father frowned at her.
Then, he made his way towards her.
I wanted to break free and go to them.
I canât bare to see Liviana get hurt.
Not again.
Never again.
As soon as my father was close enough, Liviana glanced at her men.
âMove back and form a circleâ she told them.
Her men did as they were told.
As soon as all of us were out of the way, a circle of fire was made around Liviana and my father in the middle.
I gulped.
âA battle to the death. No one from out of the circle can stop us until someone is either dead or barely aliveâ she said.
Noâ¦
A smile formed on my fatherâs lips.
âAnd how can you assure me that none of your men will get in the way?â my father said.
Liviana glanced at her men.
âIâm sure theyâll enjoy the show so they wouldnât bother getting involvedâ she said with a shrug.
She seemed calm and composed like she always was in any fight.
My father furrowed his brows at Liviana.
Liviana eyed him.
Then, they started to circle each other.
âLiviana!â I called her.
This needed to be stopped.
I canât watch Liviana and my father do this.
I tried hard to break free from Livianaâs men.
I need to protect her.
Suddenly, my father started to attack Liviana.
I nervously watched them.
Liviana easily dodged him.
My father executed his attacks one after another.
Liviana was swiftly avoiding his attacks.
She was faster than I last remember.
All her moves were precise and light.
My growled at Liviana in anger when he couldnât land a single attack on her.
I still kept trying to break free.
âArenât you trying to hard?â Liviana said and faked a yawn.
My father glared at her.
âMy turnâ she suddenly said.
Her feet quickly moved and before my father even knew it, she was already behind him.
She locked his neck in her arms as she choked him.
My father tried to pry her arms away from him as he struggled to breathe.
He couldnât do it.
âHow embarrassing it must be to you to be strangled by âa mere she-wolfâ like myselfâ Liviana mocked and let him go with a push.
My father gasped for air as he held his neck.
I was still trying to get to them.
Liviana circled my father.
âDo you know how much I want to kill you right now?â she said.
My father looked up at Liviana.
She stopped in front of him.
âI know what you did. I know everything you did, you bastrdâ Liviana suddenly said in gritted teeth.
My brows furrowed.
âI know that youâre the reason why I lost my parentsâ she started.
My eyes widened.
What?
âI know that you kept my fathers in captivity so you can keep the throne for yourselfâ she continued.
My mouth gaped open.
My father was the one who held King Kale in captivity?
âI know that you killed your own wife, your sonâs mother to hide everything that you were doingâ she added.
I stopped breathing.
What?
I saw my fatherâs guilty expression.
No.
This canât be.
Did heâ¦did he really kill my mother?
But why?
Why would heâ¦
âAnd you tried to kill me when you found out who I actually was. Even when you knew that I was your sonâs mateâ Liviana said.
My eyes widened even more.
He tried to kill her?
My father tried to kill Liviana?
He tried to kill my mate?
âBut you failedâ she said.
My father looked at her with jaw clenched and furrowed brows.
I was starting to lose it.
My life felt like a lie.
âDid you think it would be that easy to kill me?â Liviana said as she stepped closer to my father.
âDid you think that youâd be able to get rid of me as easily like you did with your wife and my mother?â she said and she aggressively pulled my father by the collar and held him by the neck.
âDid you think Iâd give up that easily?â she said and lifted him up.
I could see the pure hatred in her eyes as she looked at my father.
âYou shouldâve at least made sure that I was actually deadâ she said.
I watch as the color from my fatherâs face faded as he ran out of oxygen.
âYou shouldâve made sure that I wouldnât come backâ she said.
As soon as my father stopped struggling, Liviana let him go and threw him to the side.
âI decided that Iâm not going to kill you right now. Iâm going to make you suffer longerâ Liviana said.
âYou donât deserve an easy deathâ she added and turned around.
But then, my father suddenly got up on his feet and tried attack Liviana.
My wolf gave me strength and it was as if everything turned black.
âLiviana!â I heard someone shout.
Before I knew it, I had gotten out of Livianaâs menâs hold and took a sword.
I faced my father as I pierced the sword through his stomach.
My father and I looked at each other in shock as we looked at the sword pierced through his stomach.
The smell of b***d hit my nose.
I just stared at my father as I saw the betrayal in his eyes.
My jaw clenched.
Why did he do all of this?
âLuanâ¦â I heard Livianaâs voice.
I was too embarrassed to face her now.
My father fell to his knees as I removed the sword from him.
I held the bloody sword in my hands.
âWhy did you do it?â I said as a tear escaped my eye.
âWhy?â I said again.
My father fell on his side.
I fell on my knees sobbing as I watch my father die.
And I was the reason.
