Luanâs POV
I shouldâve been there sooner.
I never shouldâve let her out of my sight.
Now, sheâs suffering.
In pain.
Again.
I stared at Liviana as the machines connected to her body made me want to go mad.
Sheâs been in an induced coma for a week now.
The injury she acquired was even worse than the when she got shot by silver bullets.
If only I was there to protect her.
Flashbackâ¦
âDante is so going to kill you if you show your face to him with Livianaâ El said chuckling. I smirked.
âNot if I kill him firstâ I said as I punches one of the rag dolls.
Weâre currently in Cresent Moonâs training area while waiting for Liviana to finish her meeting.
I already miss my mate.
I hope she finishes up soon.
El and I kept training instead as we waited for the meeting to finish.
But then I sensed it.
My brows furrowed.
I rushed to go back to their pack house.
âLuan! Where are you going?â El asked confused as he followed me.
I didnât answer.
I stormed in to the pack house and made my way to thei meeting room.
âLuan, Liviana will be pissââ
We both stopped when I opened the meeting room and no one was there.
Not a single soul in the room.
âLiviana, where the hell are you?!â I immediately mind linked my mate.
Did she forget that she has her mate with her?!
âIâm sorry. Iâll get back to you after all thisâ she replied completely and completely cut me off.
I growled.
One that I knew resonated not only inside the house but outside.
âWhereâs my fcking mate?!â I growled angrily as my eyes glowed bright green.
I saw as El gulped and backed away from me cautiously.
Then Edmond, my mateâs Beta came in.
He bowed at me in respect.
âIâm sorry, your majesty. Our Alpha has left to help a pack that is under attack by rogues. It was an emergencyâ he explained.
Another growl emitted from my chest.
Here she goes again with her reckless behavior.
âTell me where is exactly right nowâ I said sternly. Edmond met my eyes but quickly looked away.
âI donât think the Alpha wouldââ he tried to say but got cut off.
âThe Northern pack. Liviana is on the way to the Northern pack. Itâs an hour away from hereâ Livianaâs so called uncle butt in with jis usual blank impression.
I just looked at him for a moment and I knew then why heâd tell me where Liviana is even when we donât get along.
I rushed out of there.
âAbe, get me a jet immediatelyâ I mind linked my cousin.
âWhat? A jet? For what?â he replied.
âStop asking and start moving. Iâll be there in 10â I replied and cut him off before I shifted to my wolf.
I need to get to Liviana.
I need to protect her.
I need to stay by her side.
âPrepare yourselves. Weâre going somewhereâ I mind linked my guards and warriors.
âYes, your majestyâ they replied.
I ran faster and faster then ended up arriving at the place we are staying in.
I shifted back and a guard brought me clothes as we made our way to the backyard.
There I saw the private jet, the Warr and my cousins.
âWhat the fck are you up to, Luan?â Abe said in disbelief but I ignored him.
âWeâre going to the Northern pack territory. Thereâs a rogue attack going there and I want all the rogues to be dead and I want Crescent Moonâs Alpha Liviana unharmedâ I said with authority.
âYes, your majestyâ they said and started board the jet.
âLivianaâs in harmâs way?â Cassandra asked worried.
I sighed and nodded.
âIâll be back soon. Please check up on Livianaâs pack soon, bring them a bunch of more guards to protect their pack and tell them itâs from me so theyâd give you all entranceâ I said and didnât wait for their response.
I boarded the jet and it left almost immediately after I settled down.
I felt anxious.
Worry.
Fear.
Liviana is only starting to open up to me.
Weâre starting to get along well.
If anything bad happens to her, I donât know what Iâll do.
I canât lose her.
No.
Sheâs my mate.
The only one Iâll ever want to be with.
No one else.
I tried shaking off the negative thoughts.
I tried to reach out to Liviana but she wasnât responding in any way.
My wolf, Deimos couldnât contact Livianaâs wolf as well.
We were both getting anxious and agitated of the thought of having our mate away from us.
I donât know how many minutes passed but it felt like hours of flight when we finally landed.
I was the first to get off then shifted immediately and my warriors shifted after me.
I can already smell it.
The burning scent and the scent of b***d and rogues.
I growled and sprinted into the woods as I made my way to where the scent was coming fast.
I need to find Liviana quick.
We reached the territory and my warriors started to eliminate one rogue to another.
I saw how shocked everyone was of the sudden reinforcement.
But I wasnât here for them.
I was here for my mate.
I kept trying to find her.
I searched and searched.
Until I caught her scent.
I ran to that direction.
I kept getting closer to the scent.
And when I finally saw my mate being held by another male, my whole body shook in anger.
No one else should be touching my mate!
Sheâs mine!
I growled loudly and it resonated in the whole area before I jumped out of one of the bushes.
Livianaâs eyes met mine and I saw a sense of relief in her face.
My beautiful mate.
The hunter and the rogue in its human form was holding a pup and they looked at me in shock.
Iâm sure that by now they have figured out that Iâm of royal status because no average wolf had fur like one thatâs of royal b***d.
I growled again and the rogue let go of the pup in fear.
The pup came running to Liviana while I immediately attacked the rogue.
I pounced on him and bit him on his neck before ripping his pathetic head off of his body.
Then I turned my attention back to my mate.
Livianaâs eyes met mine and my eyes softened for a second seeing what situation my mate was in.
I just wanted to pull her to me and hug her.
Tell her sheâs safe with me.
But I need to finish off this hunter first.
I continued to growl and snarl at the hunter as I made my way closer to them.
The hunter shook in fear as he backed away from me with my mate and the pup.
âDonât you dare come near!â the hunter warned but I didnât budge.
The hunter cussed.
Then he yanked the pup out of Livianaâs hold and pushed him to ground before aiming the silver dagger at his direction.
Livianaâs eyes widened and before I knew it, she got out of the hunterâs hold and protected the pup with her body.
My eyes widened as I saw the silver dagger pierce through Liviana.
No.
I heard Liviana gasp and then the hunter proceeded to attack me.
I was able to dodge him but as soon as I got hold of him, I saw red.
I clawed his face and he screamed in pain. I bit onto him and tore his limb one after another.
I was going crazy.
âLuan, our mateâ Deimos reminded me.
I finally tore off the hunterâs head then I rushed to Livianaâs side.
The pup from earlier was holding her as he cried and kept shaking my mate to wake up.
âWe need a doctor here right now!â I mind linked my warriors.
I shifted back to my human form.
âLivianaâ I said carefully changing her position with the dagger still on her back.
âLiviana please. You need to wake up and stay awakeâ I said as I tapped onto her face.
No response.
âBaby, pleaseâ I said as I desperately tried to wake her.
âLiviana, I canât lose youâ I said as I felt something warm on my face.
A tear.
Please.
End of Flashbackâ¦
She was rushed to their pack hospital immediately but one of my doctors was in charge of her treatment.
It was bad.
We almost lost her.
She had to be revived twice.
And now sheâs in the ICU.
I held Livianaâs hand and brought it up to my lips as I planted a k**s there.
âPlease wake up, Liviana. I miss you so damn much, babyâ I said as a tear fell from my eyes.
Liviana, please.
