Livianaâs POV
âHow did you find this place?â Dante asked as we roamed around the area.
âI didnât find it. It was introduced to itâ I said.
They all looked at me confused.
âThe moon goddess. The moon goddess brought me hereâ I said.
Pa and King Kale looked at me stunned.
âFiguresâ Dante said with a shrug.
âSince when?â he asked again.
âAfter I woke up from the coma and disappeared. I woke up hereâ I said.
Danteâs brows furrowed.
âSo this is where she brought youâ Dante said with a frown.
âIs this where you disappear to often?â he asked further.
I nodded.
âYes. I meet the moon goddess when I go hereâ I said.
âYou meet the moon goddess often?â Pa asked in shock.
I nodded.
King Kale chuckled in amusement.
âBehind there is a place for all of you to stay inâ I said as I pointed to the waterfall.
I had already set up a little place for them to sleep in and Iâll bring them food when I go back.
âLivianaâ King Kale called my name.
I looked at him.
âCan we talk?â he asked softly.
I smiled and nodded.
Pa and Dante gave me a nod and they walked away from us.
King Kale and I sat by the edge of the water and we sat there silently for a moment.
âHow have you been?â he finally voiced out to break the tension between us.
I looked at him as he looked back at me.
âIâ¦Iâm glad to finally meet youâ¦dadâ I said.
King Kaleâs eyes watered with tears.
âMy daughterâ he muttered as he pulled me in for a hug.
The tears Iâve been holding on to for a while was finally let out.
I hugged my father tightly, terrified that he might suddenly disappear again.
Every story of him from mom was engraved in my memory.
And although I havenât spent enough time with him yet, I felt as if I knew him my whole life.
We both cried into each otherâs shoulders as we held each other.
I felt at home.
I felt safe and warm.
But most of all, I felt relieved and thankful.
After 18 years, I was able to finally be held by my own father.
Although I was contented and happy with Pa all those years, knowing that I have them both now makes it even better.
After that, we ended up talking about things in my life.
The memories of my childhood.
My friends.
My school.
My everything.
We talked about anything and everything to catch up.
He shared his stories about his own past and how he met mom.
âHow about you? How did you meet your mate?â he suddenly asked.
âWe met on my 18th birthday when my wolf suddenly changedâ I started.
âBut I ran away from himâ I said with a chuckle.
âWhat? Why?â he asked.
âI didnât want to meet him so soon, dad. I had a lot of things on my hands that time and meeting my mate would add up to my troublesâ I explained.
âThen, how did you guys meet each other?â he asked curiously.
âWe met at school despite masking my scentâ I told him.
Dad nodded in understanding.
âThen, you got marked by him then?â he asked.
I shook my head.
âNo. It took months for us to mark each otherâ I said.
He looked at me stunned.
âHow did you resist the bond?â he asked baffled.
âI had my priorities straightâ I said with a shrug.
Dad chuckled.
âYouâre quite the character, Livianaâ he said with a smile.
I chuckled.
âMom said my personality was like yoursâ I said.
He smiled but it didnât reach his ears.
âDid she now?â he said and I nodded.
âDo you meet her often too?â he asked.
I nodded again.
âI do. I meet her in my dreamsâ I said.
Dad looked in front and stared into the water.
âI miss your momâ he said sadly.
âThereâs no day that I donât think of the both of youâ he continued on.
âWe couldâve lived a happy life together as a family but I couldnât protect the both of youâ he said as he clenched his fists.
I reached out to hold his hand.
âItâs not your fault, dad. It never was and it never willâ I said and his eyes softened as he looked at me.
âMom still loves you and looks up at you like she did when she was still with us. Every time weâd talk about you, sheâd only say good thingsâ I said.
âI disappointed herâ he said as a tear fell from his eyes.
I shook my head.
âMom isnât disappointed in you. She never was. She doesnât blame you for anything either. In fact, Iâm sure mom is glad youâre alive. Thatâs the only thing that mattersâ I said.
Dad looked down as he started sobbing.
I caressed his back as he cried.
After a while, we joined Pa and Dante.
Once Pa looked at me, I made my way to him and hugged him.
We hugged each other tightly.
âI missed you so much, kiddoâ he said.
I smiled.
âI missed you too, Paâ I said and he smiled.
He tucked in a lose strand of my hair behind my ear as he looked at me.
âWas it hard?â he asked worried.
I gave him a small smile.
âIâm fine. Edmond and his family helped me a lot. The other pack leaders also supported me in leading the packâ I said.
Pa sighed in relief.
âIâm gladâ he said and planted a k**s on my forehead.
After that, I went out and got us some food for dinners and I also bought some groceries for them.
I needed to be back in the pack house by tomorrow morning because Amaris has been whining to get back to our mate.
Yes, sheâs clearly the clingy type.
âLiviana, when can we meet your mate?â Dad suddenly asked.
I almost chocked on my food.
âOh I uhmâ¦well, not soon, I think. Heâsâ¦busyâ I lied.
Luan was not busy.
He mostly just hangs around the pack house with El.
And when heâs not with El, heâs flirting with me.
âReally? But heâs a student like you, right?â dad said.
âYeah but he uhm he sometimes work part-time. He also helps the pack members trainâ I lied again.
The only work Luan does is follow me around and seduce me.
He does help in training the pack but he doesnât do it regularly since everyone was still intimidated by his mere presence.
Pa and Dad looked at me with a raised brow.
âIs there something we need to know about your mate, Livi?â Pa said.
I gulped.
Yes.
But not today.
âCan we not talk about him right now, please? Weâreâ¦.having a loversâ quarrel right nowâ I lied once more.
Pa and Dad looked at each other and nodded in understanding.
My uncle looked at me with an amused expression.
I bit my lower l*p guilty from lying so much.
After dinner, we all sat outside by the edge of the water.
We talked about random things.
None of us dared to bring up what had happened in the palace.
I guess we didnât want to ruin the mood.
Atleast for now.
Weâre bound to discuss it soon.
But for now, we just wanted to enjoy each otherâs presence.
Even if we could only meet secret while they are hidden away from everyone.
Then, everyone left to rest for the night while I stayed out and stared at the water.
âLivianaâ
I turned to look and saw the moon goddess.
âMoon goddessâ I said as she sat beside me.
âWhy arenât you resting yet? Youâve had a long dayâ she asked worried.
I gave her a small smile.
âMoon goddess, can I ask something?â I asked her and she nodded.
âOf courseâ she said.
I took a deep breath.
âDoes Luan really have to go through something so cruel?â I asked.
The moon goddess looked at me a little surprised.
But then she gave me a sad smile.
âHis father made his decision a long time ago. Itâs unfortunate but I can no longer do anything about itâ this moon goddess said.
I bit my lower l*p.
âWhat if⦠Luan hates me in the future if I take his fatherâs place?â I asked.
The moon goddess looked at me worried.
âDo you think he will?â she asked back.
I sighed and shook my head.
âAtleast I think he wonâtâ I said.
There was a moment of silence.
âI donât want to hurt himâ I muttered as a tear felk from my eye.
I donât want to hurt the person I love.
