Allison stopped him right away.

“Mr. Williamson, you two should talk,” she said. She finally managed to push Verruckt aside and found her chance to leave.

“I need to use the restroom,” she muttered.

Seeing how flustered she was, Verruckt chuckled, almost as if he were making fun of her for getting so embarrassed.

He shrugged and gave a casual “hmm.”

Feeling relieved, Allison turned and walked out.

Once she was in a safer spot, she quickly grabbed her earpiece and contacted Kellan.

Allison remembered that Verruckt had to deal with the cruise ship issue earlier.

“Where’s Gordon now?” she asked.

“He’s at the docks, near the secret base where Bill is expected to show up,” Kellan answered.

Allison let out a quiet breath of relief.

That meant Verruckt wasn’t after Gordon.

Once the call ended, Allison left the restroom.

As she walked down the hallway, she overheard voices coming from the office.

“I wonder how the test subject’s doing.”

“I’m curious about Alice and her connection with Verruckt.”

“Verruckt just left. Now we can finally relax.”

Allison’s brow furrowed slightly.

The suspicious stares were becoming a bit of a problem. They would stop her from getting near Verruckt’s bookshelf, which meant she couldn’t take Lilian away.

So, once she stepped into the office, Allison started scanning the room.

Her eyes immediately focused on the blinds. If she lowered them, they would completely block the outside view. But with Verruckt gone, keeping them down too long might raise some suspicion. Still, she decided to give it a shot.
