After getting home and setting up their new gaming space, Jake and Alex were about to dive into their new video games when their mom walked in with a playful smirk.

"Alright, boys, before you get lost in screens, how about an old-school game night? I picked up some board games while we were out."

Jake groaned jokingly. "Board games? Mom…"

Alex, however, perked up. "Which ones did you get?"

Mrs. Faulkner set a stack of games on the table. "I got Monopoly, Clue, and Uno. Pick your poison."

Jake exchanged a glance with Alex and sighed. "Fine, but only if we get snacks."

Mrs. Faulkner laughed. "Deal. I'll grab the popcorn and drinks. Set up the game."

The boys agreed on Clue, intrigued by the mystery aspect. As they set up the board, their mom returned with a tray of popcorn, sodas, and a bowl of candy.

"Alright, gentlemen, prepare to be outsmarted by your mother," she teased, taking her seat.

The game began, and soon, laughter and playful accusations filled the room. Jake tried to bluff his way through, while Alex focused on piecing the clues together. Their mom, however, played strategically, throwing them both off with clever moves.

After a tense final round, Alex smirked. "I accuse… Professor Plum, in the study, with the candlestick!"

Jake and their mom exchanged glances as Alex checked the envelope. He grinned widely. "Yes! I win!"

Jake groaned. "Lucky guess."

Their mom chuckled. "Alright, rematch next week?"

Jake and Alex nodded, enjoying the rare family bonding moment. As they packed up the game, Mrs. Faulkner stood and stretched. "Alright, boys, bedtime."

The boys groaned but obeyed. After getting ready for bed, they climbed under their blankets. Just as Jake was about to turn off the light, Alex looked over at their mom with hopeful eyes.

"One more game? Just a quick one?"

Mrs. Faulkner narrowed her eyes playfully. "Alright, but on one condition—you both have to be in bed and asleep right after. No arguing."

Jake and Alex quickly nodded in agreement, eager for another round. They pulled out Uno for a fast-paced game, the competition fierce but fun. In the end, their mom emerged victorious, much to their dismay.

"Told you I'd outsmart you," she teased, ruffling their hair.

Finally, with full bellies and satisfied smiles, the boys crawled into bed. Jake turned to Alex. "That was actually kinda fun."

Alex smiled. "Yeah, it was. I like having game nights."

Mrs. Faulkner peeked in, smiling. "Goodnight, boys. Love you both."

"Night, Mom," they said in unison.

As the house grew quiet, the brothers knew that nights like this were what truly made them a family.
