"Nikolai! Oooo~ who's thissss? OH MY GOSH, your eyes are so freaking pretty!!!" The brunette says as he gets a good look at my face. "I didn't know it was possible for someone's eyes to be golden, oh wow! I think I'm in love!!" He finishes as he looks at me dreamily.
I blushed at his comments, but it was behind my mask so they couldn't see it thankfully. I then signed a quick 'thank you' to him and showed him the spot on the paper where it had my name.
"Well, I'm Lachlan!" He introduces himself to me. I smile behind my mask at his bubbly personality, it's been a while since I was treated with kindness.
"Oh goody! I see you've met Damien. He's a bit of a trouble maker but he's a good guy." The leader of the community, Rylan, says as he makes his way over to us.
I tense and feel my breathing start to get shallower as I try and hide myself, not noticing the curious gaze Nikolai was giving me. He can't do anything to me out in the open right? No, he wouldn't, not in front of Nikolai and Lachlan at least.
"Trouble maker?! He seems like a sweetheart!" Lachlan gasps out before scanning me. His eyes pause momentarily when he reaches mine before winking and looking back to Rylan.
I shuffle on my feet nervously, looking down and tuning their conversation out as I try and get ahold of my breathing.
"Is that alright Damien?" I hear Rylan say as I snap out of my momentary haze. I raised an eyebrow in question and he repeats himself.
"Nikolai and Lachlan need a place to stay. I offered your house. You have more than enough room for them anyway considering you live alone. Is that alright?" He says with fake sweetness dripping from his tone. I shiver before writing down a quick 'yes' and turning to look at the two males that I'll be sharing my home with.
Rylan was right, I did have room for them but that means I have to sleep on the couch. I only had one room, the other bedroom is currently being used for storage, but that shouldn't be too bad. I have a huge bed anyway so the two of them will be able to sleep just fine on there together.
"Rightio then! I'll leave you to it! Let me know if you boys need anything during your time here!" Rylan said as he threw me a quick glance then left, taking his guards with him as he retired to his own living quarters.
Lachlan turned to look at me expectantly so I took that as my que to walk away, glancing back briefly to see that they were following me.
I walked over to my groceries and picked them up. Nikolai offered to carry them for me but I kept my grip on them and continued walking.
We made it back to my house quickly. I unlocked the door and waited for them to shuffle in before closing and locking it again.
I quickly set my bags down and took off my mask and hoodie. It was getting really hot outside so I was a bit sweaty as I had finally got the hoodie off of me, just wearing a simple white tank top underneath.
I sighed silently as me mask came off too, almost jumping out of my skin when I heard footsteps approaching me. Right, I had already forgotten about them.
I walked to my table, quickly grabbing a piece of paper.
'Make yourselves at home. I'll just put the food away and we can settle down or something."
"Sounds great!" Lachlan said cheerily. I don't think I'll ever get used to his bright personality.
I put all of the food from the bags away quickly and then headed towards the living room, making sure to grab my pen and paper, to be where Nikolai and Lachlan were seated.
'I'll go get the bed ready for you.' I wrote, only to be met with a smirking Lachlan.
"Oooo~ y'know, most people take me to dinner first but I like your style." He says with a flirtatious wink.
Nikolai laughs heartily and my mouth hangs open in shock from what he said. I'm about to shake my hands at him and explain myself before he pipes up again, this time coming close to me as he whispers in my ear.
"Careful babe, you might want to close your mouth before I put something in it."
At this point my jaw is touching the floor and a heavy blush spreads across my cheeks. I push him away softly before I try to collect myself, taking a deep breath to try and calm my racing heart. Safe to say it didn't work in the slightest.
'That's not what I meant and you know it.' I write with a joking glare as I calmed myself down a little more so I wasn't as shellshocked. He just laughed as he read what I was writing over my shoulder, Nikolai joining in too as he clutched his stomach tightly from laughing so hard.
I scurried up the stairs to my room, getting it all ready for them as I tried to get my mind off of the events that took place only moments prior.
