Narrator's pov

The heart was an interesting organ because it worked more than just that. It kept us alive but it controlled our emotions effortlessly
The intense pounding in their hearts echoed through their ears, numbing their reasoning and introducing lust
Self control was hard to keep under when they were both so close to each other
The brunette's forehead pressed against the singer's. The tip of their noses gently brushing against each other as their bodies debated over leaning forward or to pulling away
Something about their moment was so intoxicating, their eyes squeezed tightly together
Rotating magnets was the only thing to describe the way they felt, the way their bodies reacted. A force, pulling them in
"Kiss me" Ember whispered
Gabrielle was fighting everything within her being to not lean in and finally touch those lips she had been thinking of for so long
And so many nights
Their heads started to spin and those butterflies in Gabrielle's stomach wasn't making it easier. She knew she wanted to, but there was just one thing holding her back
A battle of what was right and what was wrong. And it wasn't even because of her sexuality
All she's done her whole life was love a man. One man and it's never changed until a few months ago when it ended
But she had never gotten the opportunity to think beyond that or question herself
Frankly she never had a reason to question herself, that was until she met Ember
There was just something about Ember that she couldn't explain, especially with how much her body reacted to her
That lingering feeling in her brain was the only thing holding her back. That fright of something new and unexplored
What if she wasn't ready, what if she was wrong, a bunch of what ifs that she would be answering her whole life and never taking that risk if she gave into
But her heart was fighting and it was fighting with all its power, fueled by her emotions and battling her mind through it all
Her internal fight was written all across her face. Ember's eyes opened slightly to meet those green orbs she loved so much but instead she was met with Gabrielle squeezing her eyes shut tightly as if she was in deep thought
Panic shot through her veins immediately. Making the girl uncomfortable was the last thing she wanted
Maybe she was reading those signs wrong all this time, there was something about their moment that made it seem as if the singer wanted it too
But to see her frowning so deeply could only mean that she was uncomfortable or disgusted with Ember
Or that's what the brunette thought in her mind. Little did she know it wasn't the case, Gabrielle was actually fighting everything inside herself to not lean in and give into her feelings
"I- I'm sorry" Ember whispered, slightly pulling her face away from the girl
Gabrielle's eyes flung wide open when she felt that missing heat and touch of the girl in front of her
"Wha-what?" She muttered
The brunette pulled her face away a few inches, enough to give the singer some space to feel comfortable where she wasn't being pressured
"I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that. Hell, I shouldn't be forcing myself onto you. Fuck. I'm sorry" Ember said, pulling her brows together
Regret was stapled onto her chest as she realized what she was doing. Since the beginning, the blonde had told her multiple times about her interests and Ember clearly wasn't one of them
Yet she still continued and continued to flirt, perhaps those pink stains on Gabrielle's cheek everytime she flirted with her wasn't because she was blushing
Maybe it was because she was uncomfortable
"N-"
"It's okay. I'm so sorry. I'll just, go" The brunette said again, placing her palms flat on the grass to push herself up
The panic started to kick in within Gabrielle, that battle was still on going and something was winning
She felt her emotions stir like a cluster of spark plugs in her abdomen. Tension grew on her face and limbs, her mind replaying an image in her head that she desperately wanted to happen but it was falling out of her hands the more seconds that went by as Ember got up
Her breathing became more rapid, more shallow. Her mind was racing as fast at it could with her heart. Her skin tingled where Ember always touched her and her heart would beat erratically in her chest so hard that she thought it might fly out. Yet there she was, letting the girl slip away when she had her one chance at acting on it
When was she ever going to admit to herself what us readers knew all along?
But she was too afraid to admit it, too scared to think that she liked Ember. A lot
Too scared of what might happen if a specific person found out
"Fuck, come here" Gabrielle hissed
Within a second, her hand gripped Ember's forearm and pulled her back down
The blonde leaned forward and pressed her lips against Ember's, Their skins tingled the second they touched
It was a feeling she had never expected, a feeling she had never felt. It was new, it was fresh and it was scary all at the same time
But God did Gabrielle love it. She loved the intensity of it all, she loved the feeling of the girl's lips on her own. Her thoughts, her frustration, nothing mattered in that moment
Her loft lips brushed against Ember's and they melted, the taste of her sweet watermelon lipgloss invaded her senses. The blonde's eyes closed tightly as Ember captured her bottom lip between hers
An electric shiver went down the girl's spine as she felt her body shudder in pleasure
Her hands locked the nape of Ember's neck as she moaned against her mouth
Soft, it was the only way she could describe the girl's lips. Soft and delicate, something she wasn't accustomed to
For all she had kissed most of her life was rough lips of a man who refused to shave his beard lower than three inches
This was simply perfect, she lost herself in that moment and fed into the feeling
Ember's flat tongue ran across the girl's bottom lip, earning a small hum as she lowered her trembling bottom lip
A strong tongue fought with the blonde's causing sparks to egnite with every touch, every feel of her curves
Gabrielle's head was dizzy from lack of oxygen. She refused to pull away, afraid that the moment would be just a memory and regret would follow
She needed to pull away but her demand for pleasure was overpowering her other senses
She was becoming light headed, the burn in her lungs and the overwhelming feeling of her senses thorough her entire body was coaxed in goosebumps. A few more seconds and she would pass out
But Ember broke away before she could. The brunette's chest started heaving heavily as her eyes bored into green orbs
Neither made a sound, nothing left their lips except their heaving breaths
Their lips trembled slightly, as their chests slowly tried to return to normal
Green met green, their eyes showed the emotions their bodies didn't. Ember looked into those light green eyes that showed her soul so brightly, they glowed under the sun and her dilated pupils made her look ever more flushed. Ember's insides were turning, the thought of the girl's regret was on her mind
But she was more than surprised
Unfortunately for Ember, her surprises didn't end there
"Gabrielle!" a voice shouted, making both girls snap their heads around
A man held a smile, his floppy raven hair pushed back with the wind as he jogged over towards the two girls. His smile seemed to get wider when his eyes landed on the blonde
Any positive feeling Gabrielle felt inside, flushed away when she realized who it was approaching them
Ember furrowed her brows, seeing that the girl's red cheek turned pale in just seconds
It was something Gabrielle was avoiding, someone she didn't want to confront as yet
But that wasn't an option anymore
"I've been looking all over for you" The boy chuckled, placing his palms on his knees as he hunched over being out if breath
"Oh shit, sorry I didn't realize you have company" the boy grinned as he reached his hand out for Ember to take
"Hi, I'm Gabrielle's boyfriend"
