Soft circles drew around smooth skin, shows or nature's art painted the clear window of the apartment, the night had many sound asleep but two lovers burned the midnight oil, enjoying each other's company, a rainy night came with its heaven-given soundtrack, washing every hue into a strong and soulful vibrancy
Gabrielle's blonde locks fell over her face as she dusted her eyes over someone she considered perfect. Though Ember's attention wasn't on her, she could feel the girl's palm press tenderly on her thigh, drawing gentle circles on her skin to show that she was still engaged with her presence
Gabrielle's eyes roamed the brunette's body since she couldn't enjoy the view she most craved, Ember's smile. Unfortunately the board member was caught up in a novel, leaving Gabrielle to find art in her body
The girl's eyes roamed over every inch of her skin, claiming it as her own. Her skin wasn't pale, it reminded her of rich honey under the sunlight with a tender texture, she made sure her fingers caressed her skin because she watched from afar for too many weeks. Now she simply couldn't keep her hands off the girl and she wasn't afraid of being called clingy, Ember was just as affectionate as her, sometimes even more hence the dark purple bruises on her neck from teeth marks
A small shade of pink made it's presence on Gabrielle's cheek at the thought of an hour ago, where the fraction of their bodies became a whole number. The only way possible for her to enjoy maths but who could blame her
Ember in her eyes had always been perfect, from her physical features to the way she carried herself. There wasn't a single thing she hated about the girl yet it was different from Ember herself. Gabrielle knew the brunette was miserable in her own skin before but there's been a change in her that she couldn't describe
That flirty girl she met became a woman who had problems, just as everyone else. Only her problems weren't as typical. Somewhere along that stress, she lost herself but it's been coming back day after day and Gabrielle couldn't be happier
"I admire you" Gabrielle giggled
Ember raised a brow as she lowered the novel that hid her face away from the blonde girl
"Me?" she questioned
"Yes you" the singer chuckled as she propped herself up on her knees which sank deeper into the soft bed. Ember tilted her head slightly, holding a raised brow
"There is nothing to admire" Ember mumbled, bringing her eyes back to her book
"Well for one, I've never seen someone stand up for themselves like you"

"You fucking idiot" Gabrielle chuckled
"I'm serious"
"So am I" Gabrielle pouted
Ember pressed her lips thin together as she glanced over to her girlfriend, Gabrielle made sure to give her, her best death glare but simply managed to look like an uwu girl since she was already stained red and had on Ember's oversized sweater and socks from the cold weather
"Alright, what do you wanna say?" Ember questioned, placing her novel on the stand and turning to face the girl
"That I love alot of things about you, especially your bravery"
"Yeah well it takes balls to walk up to a straight girl and ask her out" Ember chuckled
"SEE. Exactly you're proving my point. You're brave, courageous-"
"Hot" Ember added with a smirk
"Oh so incredibly hot" Gabrielle playfully scoffed
"This I know" The brunette wiggled her brows slightly
"But you're also the strongest person I know" Gabrielle mumbled, fluttering her eyes over to the brunette
"It takes the strongest and most caring people to make it out of what you go through. You took that part of you that was broken and make it a ghost, a ghost that's falling away to become nothing. I know your past haunts you and still messes with what you're doing today but you're not allowing it to control you. You're making life pay for what it placed you through and I love it. What remains is now... Ember. The Ember that I fell for, strong and ready to move on" Gabrielle said
By the end of her words, Ember's cheek had been completely stained pink from the force of holding back herself. The tightness of her throat from not wanting to cry became too overwhelming, tears came as if, at long last, her accumulated ocean of brine was trickling through
The brunette stayed still with her rivers flowing down her cheek, not sound left her throat but her heart felt valued
It had taken her years for someone to see her in such a light, a light where she mattered as a person and not as a skillset
"You're strong, you can stand alone and take care of everything you need to... But you don't have to anymore. I want you to know that. All I need from this is a sense of mutual love and nurture" Gabrielle muttered once again
To see Ember in such a state didn't scare her one bit, she enjoyed to sight of watching her cry but only at the fact that she was realizing she was appreciated. Tears that waited years to be shown
The singer draped her leg over Ember's waist, straddling her stomach as she placed her wrists on her shoulder, using her thumbs to swipe away the running water on her girlfriend's cheek
"I want someone with me when the sun gives way to the stars and when it returns to reignite the colours of the daytime. I want someone with me that brings out the best and helps to destroy the worse. All I want is your kisses, your hugs and that smile I can see in your eyes" She said, slightly tilting Ember's chin up to face her
Those glossy filled eyes held nothing but beauty, it was about time she opened her eyes up to a mirror in someone else's home rather than what she saw in her own broken shards
"Be my rest, be the reason my dumbass walks into a pole because I saw your boobs again" Gabrielle said making the two girls giggle through their tears at the memory
It was another level of beauty, seeing Ember smile through her tears. Her thumbs started to stroke to soft, moist skin of the girl's cheek
"Maybe you enjoy storms so much because you know in the end, there's peace and comfort. A time when everything is calm despite the hell that was there before" Gabrielle mumbled
That was the final straw for Ember to over the edge, the girl's already fragile heart was ready to burst open the floodgates right then and there. Her head fell forward as it landed gently on Gabrielle's collar bone
The singer could feel Ember's body begin to tremble slightly, her face started to cover itself in salty tears once more. The blonde also felt two arms snake around her waist as it pulled her in even closer. Gabrielle sucked in a breath as she felt her girlfriend's warmth invaded her skin, she would always shiver in pleasure at the touch of Ember whether she realized it or not
And so she held her close, making sure there was no space between them for anyone or anything. She belonged to her, her heart and soul found it's way to her and she had no intentions on letting it roam. She knew in her heart that Gabrielle was the girl she was looking for, the girl that made her realize
She was capable of being loved
"I always knew you were a shrink" Ember snorted against the girl's shoulder but soon followed by instant regret
"You've got to be kidding me" Gabrielle gasped, peeling herself away from Ember
"NOOO come back" Ember pouted
"Sorry, your one hour session is over" Gabrielle glared, finally pulling her body away from her girlfriend
"Girl if you don't GET YOUR FINE ASS BACK HERE RIGHT NOW" Ember groaned, seeing that the blonde was just a few inches away from the edge of the bed
"Or else what" Gabrielle gave one more glare, turning her head back to face Ember
Unfortunately for her, she wasn't leaving the bed anytime soon. A loud squeal left Gabrielle's throat as she was tugged closer to her girlfriend
Ember's fingers wrapped tightly around the girl's wrist, pinning them flat on the bed while she quickly situated herself on the girl's stomach, pinning her knees to either side of her hips and holding her there tightly with no escape
Her brown locks fell forward, covering around Gabrielle's face. As surprised as the singer was, she couldn't find the will to fight since she was enjoying it just as much. Her smile grew wide as Ember's face came leaning in
It was the simplest thing for her, with her eyes and voice, her touch and sexy confidence to take what no other ever could
Ember's wanted a love such as this for forever. Gabrielle had it as if God placed her in a pocket with a whisper and a four leaf clover. A perfect creation, all made for her
In a way, when Ember met her, she was stunned. Her soul had been alone so long it was almost unsettling to suddenly have company
To find or seek another would be condemning herself to a lifetime in darkness, knowing full well what she hid from myself before
We can never go back can we? Once we have felt the real thing. So. All these miles away with the memories of their time together. It's all so silly. It's all so real. It's all so frustrating that she had to keep some feelings inside because their journey together just started
Although their road had curves and potholes, they've found themselves on a smooth street
"Maybe you're in my life to teach me something" Ember mumbled, hovering her lips slightly over the blonde
The singer sucked in a breath as her eyes slowly trailed from her girlfriend's eyes, down to her gentle lips that teased her with its presence
"And what's that?" Gabrielle whispered before bringing her lips between her teeth
They were flames that breathe all the more deeply for being closer together. Every feeling in their bodies came to life from their company
It is then they shine brighter, both within and upon one another, becoming a source of light and love in the world, showering sparks of positive chaos into the dark
"How to love. How to be appreciated. To know that I'm valued as a person" Ember mumbled
With the fade in her smile, Gabrielle felt the presence of Ember's pain banging on a door which was breaking. So she wrapped her arms around her in a moment and let Ember's head rest upon her chest
All of her thoughts stopped as if her heart took over from her head when they were close. Next she squeezed as if she needed to remind Ember that she was here. Here with her
And she was, body and soul
Ember doubted anyone else ever felt the way she does about being in Gabrielle's arms
