“Oh my goodness! Thank the heavens you are safe.” Adeline uttered in relief as soon as she saw me,

She dashed towards me and hugged me firmly.

“Goodness! I’m so happy that you are alive. Thank you for being alive. Oh my goodness,” she took Emma from my arms.

“Oh, my princess. She must have been through a lot. Is she alright?” Adeline asked.

“It’s a lot to talk about but we are all fine and I think that’s the most important.” I replied.

I was exhausted. I felt an ache all over my body and I was starting to feel sleepy at the same time I just wanted to scream. I didn’t know how to express myself. Everything at that moment wasn’t tiring.

“The doctor will be here in three minutes, Logan informed us as he walked in with Ethan in his arms.

“Thank goodness they are both safe. Anyone wants to explain to me what happened and I hope the kids are just sleeping and it’s nothing more than that.” Adeline spoke.

“To cut a long story short. The driver who came to pick me up turned out to not be the driver Logan sent to come to take the twins and I. Secondly I got kidnapped and the twins were separated from me. The person who had orchestrated this turns out to be Jade. I explained all in one breath.

“She beat and hit me promising to ruin me and threatened to kill the twins and send their heads for me to see after all I caused her so much pain and I don’t deserve to be happy. She did a lot to me and I thought it was done for the night until she came back some hours ago.” I paused to take a breath.

“To cut a long story short. Logan had already taken her dad and he promised to kill him if she didn’t let the twins go. She asked for him to kill her dad as her goal was more important than him. Logan was able to locate her and where I was and came to my rescue.”

“Jade was taken to where her dad was so that she would watch him die after all she doesn’t seem to care and her dad’s death doesn’t faze her. She eventually gave in just as Logan was about to kill her dad. She told us where the kids were and led us there and it ended up in her house.

“We got the twins but just as we got into the car, she asked for her men to shoot us down, proving to us that she did not let go even after she said she’d let go, I explained the whole story to her while expecting her to understand it.

In just one night, that all happened? All my goodness. I won’t lie when I say that’s a whole lot. In just one night you went through a lot but what I’m most grateful about is that you are safe and so are the twins. Adeline said.

“Logan. Thanks for bringing her and the twins back.” Adeline said to Logan

They are my family after all. It’s the least I can do for them.” Logan replied.

The sound of the doorbell got my attention.

“It’s the doctor, Logan said as he made his way to the door to open it.

He opened the door and a middle-aged man dressed in a suit and wearing a white coat on top walked in with a box in his

hands.

“Welcome, Logan said to the doctor.

I wouldn’t expect Jade not to harm them but she didn’t which was surprising because she had even gone as far as wanting to send their head for me when she’s done killing them so what stopped her? I couldn’t help but wonder.

“At least she didn’t harm any of that. That’s better. Now we can rest knowing well she hurt them but at the same time she should be getting prepared to die. Logan uttered.

“What do you mean by that?” I asked inquisitively.

“What I mean is simple my love. Jade went against me and also broke the bargain and for that, she has to pay. Why don’t you just try and rest after all you seem a little tired while I handle the rest of the business?” He suggested making me worry.

“Where are you going to?” Jade asked.

“Why don’t you rest sweetheart? I will be back before you wake up and that’s a promise.” He assured me, moving closer to me but I wasn’t sure I wanted to let him go yet.

“Adeline please help me watch over her and the kids. I know everyone is tired but please be safe and rest. I’d be back and I promise you that.” Logan said.

“I will be waiting.” I said deciding not to press him anymore about his plans because he wouldn’t tell.

He placed a kiss on my forehead before turning to leave and he made him go out through the door.

“Come on, let go and get you cleaned up. Firstly we have to put the kids to bed because they deserve it. Tomorrow or rather today seeing it’s almost morning will be a long day. Adeline sighed.

I nodded my head in agreement. We both took the kids from where they lay on the couch to my room as I wouldn’t be sleeping away from them not after what happened tonight.

I and Isabel placed the kids on my bed before I went to shower. While I showered she watched the kids. I came out of the shower shortly and got dressed in my pajamas.

Shortly afterward, I slept off. I didn’t know for how long I slept but when I woke up. I heard voices. Adeline wasn’t in the room but I could hear her voice and another familiar voice.

Shortly the door to my room opened and Logan walked in with Adeline.

“You are awake.” He said as she walked towards me,

“You are back,” I mumbled.

“I told you, didn’t I? I’d come back. He reminded me with a smile on his face.

“Thank you,” I said to him.
