Chapter 1070
My Substitute CEO Bride
Chapter 1070
At Baroqueâs headquarters, Lauren and Harrison were having tea with the general managers of various departments in the chairmanâs
office. Everyone present had been with the company for over 20 years, making them veteran figures.
âWe received another order worth 3.5 billion dollars from Sagen. I suggest allocating some of it to the branch offices!â The first to speak was Seamus Chezk, the general manager of the Business
Department.
Despite being 55 years old, he exuded vitality. He had a pair of sharp eyes that held more authority than even the chairman, Harrison.
Jalen, the general manager of the Production Department, frowned and glanced at Seamus coldly. âThe branch offices only have a little over 400 employees and are lacking in technical personnel. Theyâre facing even more terrifying backlogs of orders than we are here.
âHera, that girl, is still young. Her workload is no lighter than ours!â
He lifted the teacup from the table, took a sip to wet his throat, and
casually added, âMr. Chezk, are you not familiar with the saying that
greed leads to the swallowing of the snake by the elephant?â
It was obvious he was blaming Seamus for taking on too many
orders.
âI understand that, but the chairmen of those companies had personally come over, and these are all well-known entrepreneurs.
How could I refuse?â.
â
Seamus was also helpless. If it were just some small businesses
sending orders to them, he could have perhaps found an excuse to decline them. However, these were all medium to large enterprises with assets exceeding a hundred billion or even 200 billion.
Baroque could not afford to offend them, let alone a small general manager like himself.
âLetâs think of ways to raise funds.â Jalen Cross shook his head with a bitter smile. He was not targeting Seamus. They had worked together for over 20 years, he knew Seamus inside out.
There was a time when Baroque had no orders and Seamus had been worried sick, causing half of his hair to turn white.
Seamus looked at Harrison and Lauren, âMadam, if we canât manage
it, letâs just send out the orders and get them done. With Innovate Collective missing out on the cooperation with Universal Group, there should be a lot of vacancies in equipment. They probably wonât refuse!
âNo.â Laurenâs expression changed instantly. âTheyâre our archenemy. Theyâve been suppressing our company for years. Baroque will never
work with them.â
She did not mention the most important thing, which was that Innovate Collective had sent hitmen to assassinate herself and
Harrison this morning.
Harrison, who rarely smoked, lit a cigarette and took a deep drag
before speaking, âIf we continue like this, Baroque will inevitably be overwhelmed. The only way to change the situation is to expand our
production lines infinitely.â
Three essential conditions were required to expand production lines- space, employees, and equipment. The cost of renting space and hiring employees was not too high, but purchasing the equipment needed was the biggest problem.
Lithography equipment was extremely expensive, especially since most of the orders received required 12nm chips. Previously, Baroque had a billion prepaid by Drake Group to buy seven 12nm lithography
machines.
However, the production capacity was still far from enough. Not only that, it did not even meet Drake Groupâs demands.
Seemingly having made an important decision, Harrison stubbed out the half-smoked cigarette in the ashtray and turned to Lauren. âWith our companyâs current qualifications, how much money can we
borrow from the bank?â
âWe can probably get around 300 million, but itâll take 15 days to process,â Lauren replied.
â15 days is too long!â Harrison smiled wryly. After a moment of silence, he whispered again, âHow about we approach Mr. Watson? Considering Nashâs relationship with him, he definitely wonât hesitate to invest in Baroque!â
âNo way!â Lauren immediately rejected the idea and glared at
Harrison fiercely.
Harrisonâs face flushed. He naturally understood Laurenâs thoughts. She did not want to rely on Nashâs connections to solve the problem. Nash had already helped the company so much. If Walter invested in Baroque, it would definitely be seen as an act of favor that Nash had
to repay.
Just then, Harrisonâs phone vibrated Annoyed, he was about to decline when he saw that the caller was Helena. He hesitated and glanced at Lauren as if seeking her approval.
âWhy are you looking at me when your niece is calling you?â Lauren found it somewhat amusing. It seemed he saw her as a fierce tiger.
Harrison answered the phone. âHelena.â
âUncle, I heard from Dad that Baroque is short of money lately. Iâve already sold my company and have 700 million dollars. Iâll transfer it to you later!â
âHelena, youâ¦â
