Melody smiled as she shook her head.

Thankfully, Boris was nearing retirement. His guilt from just now did

not seem like it had been an act either.

He would probably not betray Baroque ever again after the second

chance Hera had given him.

“Lily, Robin, come in!”

Hera turned toward the door and called out.

Lily entered the office and returned to her desk to continue working

on her computer.

Robin entered the room with his comrades.

“Ms. Hera!”

All five bodyguards stood at attention.

Hera nodded in greeting and said, “You’ll be working as my

bodyguards for the time being and will receive as much pay as Robi

does!”

Robin was stunned. “Ms. Hera, I’m the head of the department. Why would they receive the same pay as me?”

One of the women frowned and raised a leg so that she could kick

Robin in the crotch.

Robin had fast reflexes, and he immediately covered his crotch with

stumbling several steps backward.

Robin glared at the woman as he shouted, “Jasmine Wend, have you

lost your mind? How dare you strike your superior? Do you think I

won’t dare to fire you?”

Jasmine said coolly, “Bodyguards are evaluated based on their skills,

not on their titles!”

Melody gave the bodyguards looks of amusement. She had not

expected these new bodyguards to possess inner energy.

Though it was nothing to boast about in the world of martial arts, it

was more than enough for them to work as bodyguards in a company.

“I’ll promote you to be the general of the Security Department, Robin. These five will work exclusively for the president and receive pay and

benefits allocated for the head of the Security Department!”

Hera was extremely pleased with these bodyguards, especially the

fact that two of them were women. It meant she would be well-

protected even when she went to the bathroom.

“Thank you, Ms. Hera!”

Robin was extremely excited, and he even gave Jasmine a mocking

look.

He looked just like a rooster that had won a battle.

However, Jasmine did not pay him any attention. In fact, she did not

even look at him.

Hera turned to Robin and said, “Robin, find out what Xena’s phone

number is for me!”

Robin immediately took his phone out and typed something on it. “I

have her number. You can speak to her directly!”

Hera finally understood why Nash had handed this responsibility to

Robin.

The man was reliable.

Why had she never realized there were such talents in her company?

The call soon went through.

A cold voice rang-out from the other end of the line. “Who’s this?”

“Should I address you as my dear former classmate or as President

Davis?” Hera asked calmly.

“Are you… Hera Lewis?”

“So, you can recognize me by my voice. Looks like you haven’t forgotten me!”

“Indeed!” Xena said coolly. She did not seem interested in saying

much more to Hera.

“Xena, as your former classmate, I’m very happy about everything

you’ve accomplished today. Deco Electronics and Baroque Group ar both chip production companies, and it’s inevitable we’ll have to rub shoulders in the business world one day.

“I don’t care if you target us using conventional business methods,

but if you pull any dirty tricks out of your sleeve, don’t blame me for

not going easy on you despite the fact we used to be classmates!”

Hera said aggressively.

“I have no idea what you’re talking about, Hera!”

“I’ve said everything I’m supposed to. What happens next is up to

you!”

Hera hung up the phone after finishing her sentence.

She returned the phone to Robin and got to her feet as she said, “The

morning meeting is about to begin. You should join us in the

conference room, Robin!”

Robin took the phone back and thanked Hera before leading the group of five out of the office.

Melody turned to Hera and asked, “What do you plan to do with Deco

Electronics?”

“I have no plan. I just wanted to scare her!”

A slight blush appeared on Hera’s pretty face.

Melody chuckled. “Given her current position, do you think you could

scare her?”

Hera said nonchalantly, “I might not have been able to in the past, bu I’m sure she’ll think over my words carefully after today!”

She got out of her seat and headed toward the conference room afte

saying that.

Melody then recalled the fact that Innovate Collective had been

acquired by them.

Deco Electronics would definitely reconsider, given the fact that

Baroque had Innovate Collective on their side.

As Melody watched Hera walk away, she seemed to catch a glimpse

of her old self.
