Chapter 585
Trading My Ex for His Uncle
Less than half an hour later, Cyrus arrived.
Seeing Damon standing coldly at the entrance of the villa, he felt a bit awkward and greeted him, âDamon, why didnât you let me know you were coming? I could have sent someone to pick you up from the airport.â
âI came to ask Clark a few questions. Whatâs been going on with him these past few years abroad? Why does he look like this now?â Damon asked.
Just as Cyrus was about to respond, Clark appeared, dragging a suitcase behind him. Without acknowledging either of them, he placed the suitcase in the trunk and tried to get into the car.
Cyrus quickly stepped in front of him. âClark, where are you going?â
âNyla is still alive. I need to go back and find her,â Clark said.
Cyrus was stunned. âWhat did you say? Nyla is alive? Thatâs impossible!â
M Five years ago, Nyla had fallen into the sea, and Damon had sent people to search for her for a month, but they had found nothing. How could she still be alive?
*Clark, have you forgotten to take your medication again? Iâll call a doctor to check on you,â Cyrus said.
Clarkâs eyes flashed with disgust as he snapped, âIâm not sick! Uncle Damon told me Nyla is alive. He wouldnât come all this way just to lie to me!â
Besides, Damon hadnât regained his memory and didnât even know about the past. It was even more unlikely that he would deceive him.
âEven if sheâs alive, itâs impossible between you two. Donât you remember what Grandpa said? If you go back to the country, heâll cut off our familyâs financial support immediately!â Cyrus reminded him.

After Damon had been hypnotized to forget Nyla, Richard had been worried Clark might slip up if they stayed in the country. He had sent them abroad and forbidden their return, providing them with 1.5 million dollars a month for living expenses.
In Meristate, Clark had tried to return home several times, but each time he had been stopped by Richardâs men.
Over time, he stopped trying, and his spirit faded, turning him into who he was nowâ
someone who drank all day and slept, unwilling to do anything else.
Clark halted in his tracks.
After a long silence, he coldly stated, âThat wonât happen. Weâve been together for so many years. Once I return, Iâll properly apologize to her and keep pursuing her until she forgives me.â
With that, he moved toward the car.
Frustrated, Cyrus slapped him hard and scolded, âClark, can you calm down for a second? How much longer do you want me and your mother to worry about you? If you dare to leave today, your mother and I will die right in front of you!â
Clark clenched his fists and turned to look at Damon, rage boiling in his eyes. âThis is all your fault, Damon! I wouldnât be living like thisâunable to go home, without any purposeâif it werenât for you!â
Damonâs expression remained cold. âYour lack of ambition has nothing to do with me.â
âHah!â Clark sneered and stepped closer, his eyes blazing with years of resentment. âIt has everything to do with you! Oh right, I forgotâ
you lost all your memories of Nyla, so now you can pretend none of this concerns you.â
Damonâs eyes widened as he snapped, âWhat do you mean? Speak clearly.â
âI know everything, but why should I tell you? Youâve ruined my life! Youâve made it so my parents and I can never return to the country! Why should I share the truth with you? If you really want to know, go back and ask my grandfatherâyour beloved fa-â
Before Clark could finish the word âfatherâ, Cyrus struck him hard.
âShut up! Do you even realize what youâre saying?â Cyrus berated.
