Chapter 516
Between Ruin And Resolve: My Ex-Husband’s Regret
Chapter 516:
âIf youâre done, then I suppose itâs my turn.â He swept his gaze over the room, his eyes like a scythe slashing over the fields. âAs long as I keep the company afloat, I will do things my way. It is not for you to interfere with my affairs. If you have any objections, speak to my assistant, and I will buy out all your shares, once and for all.â With that, he slammed his palms against the table and stood. âMeeting adjourned!â
He walked out of the conference room without a backward glance, leaving the shareholders exchanging furious glances with each other.
âAre you all right, Mr. Wall?â Samuel asked with concern as he trailed after Noah.
âIâm fine.â Noah waved off his concern. âLook into the specifics of the Howe Groupâs collaboration with the Perry Group.â
âYes, sir,â Samuel replied immediately.
Noah returned to his office and began reviewing urgent documents.
The next morning. The hospitalâs VIP ward.
âMmâ¦â
Sadie slowly opened her eyes, though her vision was slightly blurred, as if she was looking through a thin mist.
She blinked in an attempt to clear her vision, but her efforts had no effect.
âYouâre awake?â a gentle voice asked beside her.
Sadie turned in its direction and vaguely saw a figure in all white, likely a nurse, changing her dressing.
âWhere⦠Where am I?â Sadieâs voice was hoarse and weak.
âIâm glad youâre awake, Mrs. Wall. Youâre in the hospital,â the nurse said softly, her hands moving with practiced efficiency as she tended to Sadie.
Sadie fell silent.

She tried to squint and open her eyes wide, but everything around her remained a blur. What was happening?
Panic set in immediately.
No matter how hard she tried, Sadie could only make out indistinct outlines of her surroundings.
âI⦠I canât see anythingâ¦â she said, her voice trembling.
âPlease stay calm. Iâll call the doctor.â The nurse quickly set down what she was holding and hurried out of the room.
A few moments later, the doctor rushed in, followed by several nurses.
The doctor conducted a thorough examination, carefully checking everything from Sadieâs pupil response to the interior of her eyes. He was meticulous, not overlooking even the smallest detail.
Once he finished, Sadie swallowed nervously and asked, âHow is it, doctor?â
âDonât worry, maâam. Itâs just a side effect of the trauma,â the doctor said calmly as he put away his equipment. âYour brain suffered a severe impact, which caused temporary damage to your optic nerve. It should recover on its own over time.â
âReally?â Sadie felt a wave of relief, but the worry still lingered. âHow long will it take?â
âIt varies from person to person. Some recover in a few days, while others may take months,â the doctor explained patiently. âThe most important thing right now is for you to rest well and maintain a positive outlook. That will greatly aid your recovery.â
Sadie nodded, finally feeling a sense of ease. As long as she could recover, the time it took didnât matter.
It was only then that she remembered something else. âHow long have I been unconscious?â
âYouâve been in a coma for four days. Mr. Wall has been by your side the entire time. He just left a little while ago.â
