Chapter 2208 Why Experience Always Wins!
Not just the assassinsâeven Frederick was caught off guard by the sudden change in direction.
This isnât part of the plan!
âHahaha!â Terence burst into hearty laughter the moment he saw Frederickâs stunned expression. âFrederick, if you didnât expect this, imagine how those b*stards chasing us must feel right now!â

Despite his age, Terence clearly still enjoyed outplaying his enemies. The mere thought of their shocked faces sent him into fits of laughter.
Frederick, however, remained confused.
Shane, on the other hand, smugly stepped in, acting as if he had it all figured out. âHeh, I saw through this from the start! The moment I noticed that I didnât recognize a single one of the representatives, I knew Old Mr. Quillen was pulling a classic decoy trick!â
Of course, Frederick already knew that much.
The real representatives had already set off toward Zovince in separate vehicles. Sure, traveling by road was slower than taking a plane, but with Terence and the Wolf Warrior Unit drawing all the attention, theyâd slip past any enemy blockades unnoticed.
But one thing still didnât make sense to him. âOld Mr. Quillen, I understand why we used decoys, but why did we suddenly turn around? Couldnât we just continue heading toward the airport?â
Before Terence could answer, Shane smirked. âYou really donât get it, do you, Frederick? If we kept heading straight for the airport, weâd get there too quickly. But by leading them in circles, weâre buying more timeâ keeping them occupied so they canât chase the real targets!â
âHaha, exactly!â Terence confirmed with a chuckle.
Shane, feeling immensely proud of himself, quirked a smug brow at Frederick. âGood thing weâre not love rivals. With my superior intellect, you wouldnât stand a chance!â
Frederick rolled his eyes, unimpressed. While he would admit that Shane was a little quicker on the uptake, when it came to looks and height? No contestâhe had the clear advantage.
âBut Shane isnât all right,â Terence continued, still amused. âBuying time is just one reason. The bigger issue is Gautier Verkade. If heâs working for Tanner, thereâs no way he sent just one squad after us. He must have planned for multiple layers of ambushes, ensuring we never make it to the airport alive.â
It finally dawned on Frederick. If Terenceâs prediction was correct, then pressing forward toward the airport wouldâve certainly been suicide.
âHaha! Old Mr. Quillen, predicting their prediction of our prediction? Thatâs some real highâlevel strategy!â Shane whistled, not even bothering to check if Terence was actually right. Either way, he was happy to kiss up to the old man.
And in doing so, he felt a deep sense of prideâwhen it came to social maneuvering, Frederick was still leagues behind him!

He hadnât yet realized that the buses were filled with decoys. He simply assumed Terence had somehow caught wind of the ambush ahead and changed course, ruining their carefully laid plans.
âRelax, Aora, Azure reminded him calmly. âEven if that old fox takes a different route, it wonât change the outcome. If they canât reach the airport, they canât get to Zovince.â
Aora froze for a momentâthen his lips curled into a wicked grin. âYouâre right! If they never make it to Zovince, theyâre as good as dead anyway!â
âExactly!â Azure smirked. âAll we need to do is stall them. Keep them running in circles, keep them from boarding that plane, and theyâll be completely helpless. We donât need to be in a hurryâthey do!â
Aora let out a sinister laugh, his bloodlust returning. âLetâs take our time⦠and enjoy playing with them.â
Aora and Azure, both highâranking fighters, had been honing their strength through their training in Dragonâs Reversal Essence. Keeping up with the two buses was an effortless task for them.
Even with the Wolf Warrior Unit trailing behind, as long as they didnât engage in direct combat, their pursuers couldnât do much about them. However, as they followed the convoy, something started to feel⦠off.
The buses were veering further and further off course, eventually heading toward the outskirts of Yeringhamâfar from the expected airport route.
âWhat the f*ck? Where the hell are they going?â Aora finally picked up the oddity.
They had assumed their targets would be desperate to make it to the airport. But instead, these people werenât anxious at all.
âSh*t! I think weâve been tricked!â Azure suddenly slapped his thigh in frustration.
âWhat do you mean?â Aora, already irritated, grew even more agitated.
âThereâs a real chance that the people on those buses arenât the Chamber of Commerce representatives!â Azure explained, his mind racing as he put the pieces together. âThat old fox has been leading us on a wild goose chase!â
âAaargh!â Aora let out a furious roar, dragging out the sound in sheer frustration. âThat d*mn old b*stard! Iâm gonna kill him!â
Azure knew there was no reasoning with Aora when he was enraged, so he could only follow him as they moved to intercept the buses.
To their surprise, the vehicles didnât try to ram their way through. Instead, they came to a full stop.
Frederick had no idea what Terence was planning, but since the old man insisted on getting off the bus, he had no choice but to followâalong with Shane.
Behind them, Eve quickly led her troops forward, wary of an ambush. But Terence simply raised his hand, signaling for them to stay calm. Without hesitation, he took the lead, leaning slightly on his cane as he approached the assassins.
Aora narrowed his eyes. Does he not know who I am? Or is he just this reckless?
Yet, before he could speak, Terence gave him a polite nod and said, âYou must be the leader of the Great Four Envoys under Teddy Tanner.â

âHaha! My friend, Iâve already got one foot in the grave,â Terence said, chuckling. âDo you really think I fear death at this point? I simply stepped out because I wanted to have a little chat. You see, us old folks do enjoy our conversations!â
Aora scoffed. âEnough with the small talk! The people on those busesâare they fakes?â
âAh, so you finally figured it out.â Terence let out another hearty laugh. âTook you long enough!â
âSon of a-!â Aora clenched his fists, grinding his teeth. âHow the hell did you pull this off? Our informants saw the representatives enter your family estate!â
âHaha, that was the easy part,â Terence said, clearly enjoying himself. âYou see, back in the old days, Chanaea had an entire tunnel warfare strategy My family estate is quite vastâit wasnât difficult at all to have my guests slip out unnoticed while you were busy watching the front door.â
Aoraâs face turned red with rage.
âBlame yourselves for not acting fast enough,â Terence said with a shrug. âAfter the fall of the Five Poison Sect, I knew this was the next move youâd make. I simply outplayed you by a few steps. By now, the real representatives should already be well on their way to Zovince. I doubt youâll be able to catch up!â
Frederick frowned slightly. Why is Mr. Old Quillen revealing all of this? Wonât that just make them chase after the real targets?
But Eve understood immediately. Terence wanted Aora to think the representatives had taken the plane- that way, he would make the wrong call and not even attempt to pursue them by land.
And sure enough, Aora was livid. He roared in fury and lunged forward.
âYou old b*stard! Iâll kill you!â
However, Terence foresaw his reaction and leisurely pulled his coat open just before Aora could reach him, forcing Aora to a halt.
In fact, Aora stepped back in horror, for beneath the elderâs coat, his body was strapped with explosives.
