Chapter 2216 A Desperate Battle!

Libby?!

No one expected Libby to be the first to lunge toward Quintus.

In fact, fearing she wouldn’t make it in time, she dove forward at the last moment, throwing herself sideways to shield Quintus from the incoming strike–no hesitation, no reservation.

Her small body crashed into Quintus, sending both of them flying several yards before hitting the ground

Aurora and the others finally found their voices, their shouts of shock ringing through the battlefield.

Solana, overcoming her fear at last, roared in fury and spewed fire toward Aora, who leaped into the air, narrowly dodging the raging flames.

With him momentarily off Quintus and Libby, the Wolf Warrior Unit seized the chance to unleash a barrage of gunfire, forcing Aora into a defensive retreat, at least for now.

“Hey, troublemaker! Wake up!” Quintus, still conscious despite the brutal impact, gritted his teeth and gently patted Libby’s pale face.

Her eyelids fluttered. Her face was ghostly white, save for an unnatural flush of red, the pain she was enduring written all over her features.

“Hey! Wake up!” Quintus patted her again, his voice growing more anxious, his panic evident. Sure, she was a pain in the ass, but he didn’t want her to die.

“M–Mr. Quintus…”

After what felt like forever, Libby finally managed to crack open her eyes. A weak smile struggled onto her lips. “I… I’m not a coward… or dead weight… right?”

Her smile struck something deep within Quintus–like a beam of light piercing straight through his chest. He trembled, feeling something inside him shift.

She had shaken him.

It took him a moment to suppress the stinging sensation in his eyes before forcing a grin. “But if you die, you’re still just a weakling. And I don’t like weaklings.”

Libby smiled, too.

That smile drained the last ounce of strength she had left. She could no longer speak, but deep down, she swore to herself, I have to survive. I have to prove to Mr Quintus that I’m not weak!

“Hey, hey! Troublemaker! Wake up!” Quintus called out to her again before carefully lifting her in his arms, intent on getting her to safety.

But Aora hadn’t left. Seeing Quintus rise to his feet, Aora’s face twisted into a demonic snarl, “Quintus! I’m going to tear you apart, limb by limb!”

SA! Solana’s instincts screamed at her–without thinking about the danger, she charged toward Aora from behind. But she wasn’t fast enough.

“Screw this! We’re taking you down with us!”

At that moment, Ironskull and Ostrich also threw caution to the wind, launching a direct attack on Aora.

They went all out. But even with their full strength, Aora barely seemed to register their presence. With a casual swing of each arm, he sent both of them flying in opposite directions.

With firepower like this, surely Aora would be defeated now, right? But before Eve could even respond, the crumbling wall suddenly erupted outward. A burst of force sent shards of stone flying at them like deadly projectiles.

Eve barely managed to step back in time, shielding herself.

“Hahaha… I’m going to kill every last one of you!” Aora laughed maniacally. “I am Mr. Tanner’s ace!”

Though he looked a little battered, it was clear–the missile hadn’t really harmed him.

Despair settled over the battlefield.

Seeing their comrades wounded and fallen all around them, Aurora and Eve couldn’t hide the despair in their eyes.
