Chapter 601

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 601:

“Hello, Peyton,” Jervy Turner greeted.

Peyton Acosta, the dreadlocked figure, waved dismissively. “Those who don’t know their place need to be taught a lesson,” he said coldly.

Jervy nodded obediently, replying, “Yes, Peyton.”

Then, Jervy sneered at the woman, taunting, “What a fool! If you’d just behaved, this could’ve been handled privately. But no, you had to make a scene for everyone to see, didn’t you?”

With swift motion, Jervy tore at her clothes. The woman, drowning in despair, struggled futilely against his grip. Back home, such scenes would have sparked immediate police intervention, but here, they were disturbingly commonplace.

Peyton showed no sympathy; his eyes sparkled with twisted excitement. In this place, they had taken advantage of countless others. They treated them as nothing more than playthings.

The woman squeezed her eyes shut, steeling herself with a grim resolve to end it all by biting her own tongue.

“Stop!” a voice suddenly commanded.

The woman opened her tear-filled eyes and saw Howard. His face twisted with disgust as he declared, “I’m trying to focus on my work here, and this chaos is only going to hinder me.”

Jervy stood his ground defiantly, but Peyton, after a moment’s contemplation, gestured for Jervy to stop. After all, Howard was the brilliant tech genius they had brought in for assistance. Offending him would yield no advantages.

“Get lost!” Peyton barked.

With a reluctant sigh, Jervy dragged the woman away. Peyton led Howard to the lab.

“How much longer until it’s ready?” he asked.

Howard replied, “It’s going smoothly. About half a month more.”

A glimmer of greed sparkled in Peyton’s eyes. “Do a good job, and there will be rewards for you!”

Howard stifled his disgust and nodded in acknowledgment. The Serpentine Palers had tasked him with developing a new weapon that could potentially shift the balance of power in Aswil’s military landscape.

Howard agreed, determined to create something groundbreaking. However, his true aim was to obliterate the Serpentine Palers. Yes, he longed to destroy them—that was his ultimate goal.

Donning his work clothes, Howard immersed himself in his experiments. Suddenly, Peyton’s voice cut through his concentration. “Oh, I got you an assistant.”

An assistant?

Howard felt a wave of puzzlement wash over him. Then, he saw a familiar face step through the door. It was…

“Corbett?”

Had he been released from prison? Howard’s eyes widened in disbelief.
