Chapter 636

Comeback Of The Adored Heiress

Chapter 636:

Clayton was taken aback as he listened to the shocking news of all the events that had unfolded in his absence.

Wesley was known for his mischievous and unruly behavior, yet he always managed to maintain a sense of decorum. How could he have thrown the company into such disarray?

When the project manager mentioned Jada’s involvement, it clicked for Clayton—Jada had clearly been a major catalyst in the turmoil.

“Mr. Lambert, you need to intervene! If you don’t return soon, we’re at our breaking point,” the project manager said, his voice trembling.

In just a few weeks, the company’s stock price had plummeted to its lowest point. If things continued down this path, bankruptcy loomed on the horizon. Wesley had certainly made his mark, pushing a century-old firm to the brink of collapse.

Disappointment weighed heavily on Clayton. After a short conversation, he ended the call and immediately dialed Wesley.

“Grandpa, what’s the matter? Aren’t you supposed to be on a retreat?” Wesley answered.

“Wesley, you need to stay away from Jada. She’s trouble! Have you completely disregarded everything I’ve taught you? How could you sever ties with the other families?” Clayton’s voice was full of anger.

Clayton hadn’t felt this enraged in years.

Wesley clenched his jaw and responded, “Grandpa, they started it.”

“You were the one who ended the partnerships. And you still think it’s their fault? All my efforts in teaching you seem wasted. You owe them an apology and must reinstate those partnerships immediately!” Clayton’s fury was evident.

Yet, Wesley remained quiet.

“Are you even listening to me anymore?” Clayton asked, his frustration building.

“Grandpa, I am listening… Since you handed over the company to me, please let me try something. I’ve discovered a promising project that I believe will take our company to greater heights!” Wesley said with conviction.

Clayton was stunned by Wesley’s stubbornness.

“Alright, then. Explain this new project that has you so excited.”

Wesley replied, “Perfume creation. Jada is remarkably talented, and I plan to market her products internationally…”

Before Wesley could continue, Clayton’s anger erupted.

“Enough! Obey me and follow my instructions!”

Wesley responded, “I’m sorry, Grandpa. I’ve been under your guidance for the last ten years, but now I’ve matured. I want to carve my own path. Please, let me have this opportunity.” With that, Wesley ended the call.

Clayton was overwhelmed with frustration, feeling like he might burst. He realized that his overprotectiveness had made Wesley an easy target for manipulation by others. Now, Wesley wouldn’t even listen to him!
