The Eclipse of the heart
BLOOD MOON: The Lycan Alpha's Little Witch
Third person's Point Of View
DIMITRI COULD FEEL a pointed piercing deep in his soul, something within him definitely shook awake. Something dark. Something wicked. It was spreading through every vein in his body, tainting his blood with darkness.
He struggled hard to contain the demon, Cessair, which threatened to be set free. But his struggles were clearly no match, for the devil within him was far stronger.
In a snap, his eyes fluttered open, shining a dangerous, burning red. The flames of hell couldn't compare to the fire that dwelt in his gaze. Cessair let out a thunderous roar from his lips shaking the earth to its core.
Dimitri was far gone now, lost in his own consciousness and his Darkside Cessair was completely in control.
Cessair wanted to burst free from his bondage but the chains wouldn't yield, it was certain that the binding spell of the witches was working. Tiny rocks within the cave fell, crumbling on the floor as another roar was released in anger.
A loud uproar could be heard from outside the cave, the sounds of screams and wolves growling in defense could be heard, they were being attacked by a being in a hooded cloak.
The screams of the very same people tasked with guarding the cave suddenly faded, the only thing that could be heard was the bold footsteps of the unknown assailant. It was Death here to set the Devil free.
"Kratos fariee la toma ki naa." Death chanted in prominent Celtic. The spell instantly sent the chains clinging to Cessair's wrists and legs crashing down, putting down the magical barrier spell. Cessair was free at last.
A fulfilled smirk found its way to the unknown assailant, knowing that their task was completed. Death vanished.
Slowly, Cessair pulled his head up. A smirk found its way to his lips, he was now free, able to wreak his chaos.
He released another growl that caused a series of howls to erupt from all the wolves reaching up to the midnight sky.
He felt a deep, insatiable thirst for blood. It was as if there was a bloody hole somewhere within him that he needed to fill. His mind was completely dark. There wasn't a single remnant of Dimitri's thoughts in his soul. It was only the devil Cessair.
Cessair in his beastly form walked out of the cave to meet the dead bodies of those tasked to keep him in, they were slashed by what looked like claws as though a werewolf had been what was responsible for their demise but it was no werewolf, it was Death who let the devil out of his box.
The curse effect could be felt negatively by every wolf in the pack. Celeste and the witches with the aid of the pack's head doctor Clarissa were tending to the wolves in the pack infirmary, trying to render as much help as possible, especially to the younger wolves, so they could survive the night.
The moon was completely swallowed by the darkness, Celeste glanced around. She could feel the ruthless hands of the curse stalking the air already. Wolves were dying, and it hurt her more that she could do nothing to help. At least not until the eleventh Blood moon rises. That was still some weeks away. That is the only chance the witches had to break the curse on Dimitri and his pack. That was the only way to end all of this.
It wasn't as easy as it sounded. The coven witches had been trying their best to find a way for years but now they finally found Dimitri's mate, the chosen one. They had everything they needed to complete the ritual.
Celeste shook quickly from her thoughts when she noticed Lance hastening towards her inside the pack house. He had a gravely terrified look on his face. It caused Celeste's heart to skip a fearful beat.
Her eyes gouged him as she hurried to his side.
"Lance, what happened?" Her gaze scrutinized him. Just like every one of the pack members, he was suffering as well. She noted the dark lines that appeared on his veins, it was shadow poisoning brought on by the curse.
Celeste crimped her brows, waiting for Lance's next words, which would almost certainly be bad news.
"He has escaped from the cave. Cessair is in control and he has gone on a fucking rampage."
Celeste's eyes widened. "No! That is impossible!" She whispered in confusion. Dimitri couldn't get out of that cave, even if the demon within him had taken over, he couldn't possibly escape the barrier spell she and the coven had placed on the cave and the binding chains holding him. She had believed he wouldn't be able to cross the boundary.
She hastened to the cave with some witches as they approached the cave. The sight before them made Celeste's body quiver. Blood was splattered everywhere, soaking the earth, and before them, was Dimitri. Only it wasn't him, but the devil Cessair at work. He was surrounded by Gabe and some pack warriors, who were trying their hardest, risking their lives to subdue him. And Dimitri was fighting against them. One by one, their bodies thrashed the earth, and his sharp claws rippled through them.
Celeste couldn't understand how the barrier spell could have failed. She herself had specially fortified it to ensure it wouldn't fail.
Celeste turned to her witches, giving the signal to them. On cue, the witches spread around the blood alpha, surrounding him while the warriors retreated behind them.
Cessair's bloodshot eyes scanned around them, a murderous glow sparking within those killer eyes as they twitched in glee. One could see the thirst for blood in those eyes of his. Immediately, Celeste and the witches began chanting, their chants echoing into the night, drawing their magic from the powerful eclipse.
"Lithum gar pà re naim buroè."
The witches' chants were affecting him badly. Cessair's hands covered his ears as he crumbled to his knees, his eyes shutting, as the witches began to move closer to him. Their chants held immense power, and the demon within Dimitri was fighting against it. Fighting to stay in control. And it won.
Everything happened in slow motion. A thundering growl erupted from the demon's lungs, causing a quake to slice through the earth. The earth shook angrily, resulting in an endless quake that spread throughout the Blood moon Pack, destroying everything in its path. The witches that circled closer around him were thrown off balance by the earth trembling, and as quickly, Cessair escaped them, dashing wildly into the thick woods.
Celeste and her witches, along with the warriors, scattered around the pack territory in search of Dimitri . She had also sent some witches to block all borders that led out of the Pack's territory so he couldn't cross them.
The pack was determined to prevent Dimitri from leaving the pack territory at all costs, especially in his beastly form. Otherwise, the lives of many humans living nearby would be in danger. The curse on Dimitri and the pack could also be exposed.
They all knew what was at stake, and they couldn't afford that. Many of the pack's enemies will no doubt exploit this weakness against the pack.
Celeste met up with Kael, Stefanie, Alexa, Dixie and Gabe. They still haven't found Dimitri. Together, they kept on searching until one of the witches was able to track the demon. Celeste alerted the pack's warriors and also the witches to head towards the south side borders of the pack territory.
They went into the woods, trailing after the demon. By the time Celeste arrived with the witches, there were several bodies of the pack warriors scattered around the meadow. Some lay motionless on the ground, while others appeared injured. But no sight of Dimitri. Her eyes narrowed in on Lance from afar.
Celeste rushed closer to him in speed. He was bleeding badly from claw injuries. Without delay, she placed her hand on him, whispering a few words, and his wound was healed.
"What happened? Where's the Alpha?" Celeste asked, and just then Lance's eyes widened. "What is it, Lance?" She questioned again, as he struggled to his feet.
"We need to find them!" He sounded in a panicked tone.
"Them? What are you saying?" She tried her hardest not to yell.
"It's Luna," He spoke fast. "I don't know how but she was here a few minutes ago. Dimitri as well. He took her." He yelled frustratedly, tugging his long black hair. "Cessair is going to kill her, he knows she is the only one that can put an end to the curse. Isabelle is in danger."
Lance and Celeste began moving, while the rest of the warriors and witches spread out into the woods.
Her heart was racing hard. It was dangerous for Isabelle to be with Dimitri in the state he was in. She was worried for both Isabelle and Dimitri, knowing full well Dimitri would never forgive himself if something terrible happens to her. He wouldn't forgive himself for hurting her. She was also worried about the pack, if Cessair killed Isabelle they were all doomed for death, that was for sure.
Suddenly, a sharp scream pierced through the mountains.
It belonged to Isabelle.
In a haste, they all rushed out of the mountains, stepping into the clearing field, and Celeste stopped dead in her tracks, not from the sight before her, but at the overpowering magical energy that floated in the air, which certainly wasn't from her.
