Chapter 31

Samantha Riley

The door opened and in walked the Alpha with no other than... Liz Warren. My eyes almost popped out of my head but I held myself. I could not let any emotions show or they'd think they had succeeded. Liz Warren didn't make me scared, but she made me confused and surprised. Why this woman would turn on her “old friends” so easy was a big question but by now I knew not to trust people. And her son. Ugh, I felt disgusted for going out with him.

I simply sat there, watching them come towards me and standing in front of the cage. Liz looked smug. What a bitch. I was sure that Liz had contacted this Alpha and not the other way around. How could she ever get help if she didn't have a pack to help her?

“Hi, Liz,” I said, smiling sweetly. I flipped my sarcasm button on and said, “Nice hair.”

She just smirked evilly at me, knowing that I was playing. Looking at me like she was one step ahead. Please, bitch, you're going down and you don't even know it. I'm just saying; people should now not to mess with Riley's and especially Black's.

One thing these people didn't know, though.... They didn't know that Liz's exhusband and son had contacted me and informed me about everything Liz had planned. Ha... who's one step ahead now?

“Hello Samantha,” she said in a calm, smug voice. Oh if she only knew. I didn't have a plan but I just knew that something was being planned as we speak and that these people were already losing.

“What's up? What stupid things have you done now, Lizzie?”

“I'm Liz to you,” she spat, still calm, still smug.

“Nah. You're what I want you to be.”

“Are you sure you still want this young girl to your son?” the man, the Alpha of this pack, asked her, glaring at me. Aha, he just busted her plan and he didn't even know it. I didn't pretend I didn't know, there was no use. If she knew that I knew, that's when she would be scared. And that's what I wanted.

She threw a hateful look at him, her nostrils flaring.

“Shut up, you fool!” she hissed. She looked at me, obviously waiting for my reaction about the spilled secret. I just smirked, my arms crossed over my chest as I leaned back against the cage.

“Are you waiting for me to cry? To scream? Please, Liz. I know everything about your plan to make me Tyler's mate. And may I just say that it's one bad plan, clearly you haven't been thinking it through very well.”

“Oh and why is that, you little ungrateful kid?”

“If we're talking ungrateful here, you are the one. Why won't you settle for his real mate? That will come whenever it's right. But obviously, it's not the right time since Mother Nature knows who to give and who to take from.”

“Shut up! Do not talk to me like that! Do you know who I am?”

“Yep. Liz Warren, mother of three, oh sorry, two now, a really bad mother and a bad planner. Hm, did I miss anything? Oh right, a woman with very bad hair.”

“If you weren't in that cage I would slap that stupid smirk off your face!” she spat. The Alpha put a hand on her shoulder and pulled her back, glaring at her.

“This is not the plan, Liz.”

She just huffed, glaring at me with so much hatred her eyes looked like they were going to fall out. He shook off his hand and took one step back, her glaring eyes still on mine. The Alpha gave her a look that said to continue on already and she stood up straight, looking proud.

“You're going to be Tyler's mate, Samantha, whether you want to or not. Your mate won't be here to save you from trouble this time so don't even expect it.”

It was my turn to glare at her.

“If you think that this is the best thing for your son, then you're even more stupid than I thought. I feel sorry for him. It was probably you who made him do all of this and agree to this. Look at your daughter, she's happy with her mate. Do you want Tyler to be miserable all his life with someone he doesn't love and someone who doesn't love him back?”

It was working. She lost all control for a second, unsure, doubting, hesitating. But then she came back and looked me up and down before walking away.

“Make yourself comfortable in there!” she called, her voice slightly echoing in the cave like room.

I sighed; this was seriously boring. There was no action, no nothing. The guards were boring as hell, just standing there, staring straight forward. Execpt for Fat Joe; he kept throwing me glares. I chuckled at that.

“What?! What are you laughing at?!” he snapped, earning a smack on the head from Abusing Lucas. I laughed louder.

“Your ugly face-”

The door smashed open, hitting the wall with a loud noise and in ran three big guys, coming straight at me. I was both shocked and slightly scared by the sudden burst. The first guy ripped the cage open and grabbed my left arm, hurting me as he pulled me violently out.

“Hey!” I shouted at him, trying to pull my arm back.

“Shut up and walk!” he screamed in my ear. These guys were really big. And ugly. And scary, to be honest. Where the heck were they taking me? The other one grabbed my other arm and pulled me as well so my legs were just following and stumbling as I tried to keep up. They led me deeper into the cave like room, deeper and deeper until we were somewhere completely dark with weak lightening that didn't help much. I was thrown down at the hard dirty ground, my knees hitting it hard. I hissed in pain and turned to glare at them even though they could probably not see it. I could barely see their faces, but their big bodies gave me enough to know where they were standing.

What were they doing? Were they ordered to do this? Well, probably.

As we were standing there, my mind, in those six seconds, was already forming a plan on how to get out alive and not hurt. Well, alive at least. Just as I started getting up, a leg came right up to my stomach, kicking hard. I fell down again, a hand on my stomach, breathing hard. Jerk.

I pushed myself up quickly, just as I saw a hand coming at me and dodged it the very last second. I felt his knuckle brush my cheek and a breath of relief and adrenaline left me. I was throwing punches ahead of me, not caring how stupid I looked; I was going to hit one of them.

And I did, right in the nose. I grinned as I heard a weird noise come from the one on my left and continued punching. Instead of hitting them this time, they hit me. Right in the face, on my cheekbone. Now let me tell you... that one hurt. Automatic tears of pain started to build and I blinked several times so that they wouldn't make everything blurry. It was hard enough being in the dark. With human eyes, this would be pitch black, like serious blindness, but with my werewolf eyes I could make out their forms, see just a little.

I started running backwards, no idea what I was doing, but this room was even deeper than this. I kept running and running, my arms out, making sure I wouldn't run in to something.

As I turned left, my legs hit something that was waist high and I cursed, moving aside and continued. Where the hell was I going anyways? This was a moment to laugh at my stupid “survival plans.” Except that this wasn't a part of my plans, I had just turned and run away. So typical.

Then I stopped in my tracks, my eyes on something unbelievable. Was that-? Is that-? Like, seriously? I wanted to kiss them for this cave room or whatever and thank the builder for that small window a few feet away from me. They obviously didn't count on me seeing this or even coming all the way to this back.

I moved quickly over to the window and pulling myself up with all my strength, I swung my leg up and out through it, hearing the running footsteps of the big guys. I didn't exactly know if it was them but noone else knew I had run away. Unless they told the others and they were now all running after me. I didn't care though, I found a way out and I was running the heck out of here!

I swung my other leg over and threw myself out, straight into the woods somewhere. I got up and without a glance back, I shifted and ran.

I had been running for over two hours. I think. It went pretty fast but I had neither a clock or anything that showed the time on me so I had to guess. It went fast but it had been quite a while. Now I didn't know where I was since I had just run off somewhere. But I was on someones territory. Or I was close; I could feel the werewolves and that this belonged to someone else. Still in my wolf form, I walked carefully and quietly through the trees and bushes and stopped when I saw a big one floor house. The lights inside shone brightly in contrast to the now darker sky and I wondered who could be living here. I tried to think of another pack living here in this town but nothing came up.

Then I was attacked.

For the hundreth time in my life, it seemed like. I felt a bit pissed off because of that and immediately took defense and bit back. I got the neck of the werewolf in my mouth and it whined but struggled back. Another wolf jumped forward and growled at me, jumping on me. I let go of the other wolf, growling as loud as I could and tried pushin them both off as I clumsily backed away. We stood there now, two light haired werewolves staring at me and growling. One was a male and the other was a female.

Who are you? I thought to myself, not knowing if I should stop my defense mode. I sighed, battling myself but in the end stopped growling and bent my head down a little, my eyes on them. This was a sign of defeat or that I didn't want them any harm.

They immediately stopped growling at me and I sighed of relief. Thank God. I looked back up and not being able to communicate well with them, I whined. The she-wolf came forward and the male growled protectively at her. She ignored him and came forward until she was inches from my face. She stared into my eyes and I just stood there, a little bit uncomfortable. She nudged her head, nodding towards the house. The male werewolf was still growling at her, obviously not liking her idea but she continued to ignore him.

I nodded once and followed her out to the big field and towards their house. I felt weird being alone here, on another packs territory but I had a good feeling about her. Though, we all know my feelings aren't always true. I'm a trouble magnet after all and I always try to see the best in people. Sometimes.

When we were just a few feet away from the front door, she motioned for me to sit by sitting down once, nodding at me and then when I did as she said, she disappeared inside. Her brother stayed, though, watching me with catious eyes.

The girl came out again, this time as a human and held clothes in her hand. She was beautiful. Like a Exotic Snow Princess or something. Beautiful blonde hair, tan skin and big blue eyes. She was tall and slender and her face was cute and innocent, like a pixie. Her hair was a bit messy but it fit her innocent look. She smiled at her brother as she passed him.

“It's fine, Leo, I can feel it.”

They were obviously talking in mind-link. She smiled at me this time, gesturing to the back of the house.

“Follow me, please.”
