Chapter 11

(Gabriel POV)

So I'm in my first period ignoring Ash as much as I can, which is hard to do she keeps throwing me notes, but I brush them away.

"Gabriel" she whispers  I pretend like I don't hear her and continue taking my notes.

"Don't be like this Gabriel" started to poke on my side I moved her hand away from only for her to do it again.

"Gabriel c'mon talk to me I already said sorry" she whined at me I shook my head and turned back to the teacher. I felt a pinch on my side making me squeak. I turned and glared at Ash who was laughing.

"Leave me alone Ash" I hissed  and face the board only to the teacher glaring at us

"Gabriel and Ash is there something you two like to share with the class" he asked I turned red.

"No sir" I mumbled while Ash grinned and shook her head.

"Then please don't interrupt my class again" he went back to teaching I huffed and continue taking note ignore Ash as she nudged me.

"Gabriel you can't ignore me all day" she whispered

"Watch me" the bell rung; I quickly gather my things ignoring Ash as she walked me to my next class still poking me.

"Gabriel please talk to me your killing me" she said and poked my cheek people looked at us curiously in the hallways . She poked me again on my cheek but this time I turned and bit her finger. She yelped and pulled her finger back.

"Ouch shit" she held her finger glaring at me

"What you do that for"

"Shouldn't have poked me" I turned and went in my class

"You know I'll have you talking to me by lunch" she shouted in the classroom as I took my seat ignoring her.

(ASH POV)

So Gabriel been ignoring me because of the stupid test she missed. I think she got madder when she got in trouble in class today too. So I had an idea, which I am 100 percent sure it is going to work. I left out of school at 4rd period and went to the store before coming back to school right in time for lunch. I made my way to her table where all her friends were sitting. I took the seat on the bench which I assumed was Gabriel spot.

"Um no offense, but what are you doing here" I think is name was Matt asked me confused.

"Nothing waiting for Gabriel is it a problem" they all look at me strangely except for Samantha and shook their head no.

"You do know that she's mad at you right" Jenna said looking me up and down I swear it looked like she was about to eat me.

"Yup that why I'm over here" grinning at them

"Why is she mad" Matt asked scratching his head.

"Well Ash here made her miss her test yesterday and she got her in trouble this morning" Samantha said laughing

"How was I supposed to know she had a test" I mumbled looking at the door waiting for Gabriel to walk in.

"You did say you would be back to make it to the last two periods"

"It's not my fault that she fell asleep she looked tired and I couldn't make myself wake her up" I told them they laughed at me "It's not funny she threw a fit yesterday when I woke her she said she wanted to miss her classes so she could sleep but when I told she missed them she got mad at me"

"You have your hands full Ash here she comes" Samantha said still laughing I looked up to see Gabriel glaring at me as she reached the table.

"Ash move you're in my seat" she said in a stoic voice

"Nope not until you talk to me" I told her smirking she frowned at me

"Ash I just want to sit down and eat my lunch" she whined

"By all means sit down and eat I'm not leaving" she glared again

"Ash you took the last seat"

"Oh I did didn't I" I said looking at the full table her friends were obliviously listening to our conversation but tried to make it look like they were you could tell cause they were trying to hold back their laughs.

"Ash c'mon this isn't going to help your situation" she shifted to her other foot

"I know but these will" I pulled out a 2 bags one filled with strawberry jelly beans and the other filled with green gummy worms. I watched as her eyes widened at the sight of them. I found out that she like gummies and jelly beans yesterday.

"I'm not falling for it"

"Well I guess I'll just throw them away,"

"NO" I smirked as she reached for them

"Nope not until you forgive me" I pulled them out of her reach she huffed

"Fine I forgive you" she said I gave her the bags.

"Good cause it was hell picking out red jelly beans and green worms they should sell colors separately it would have been a lot easier" I smiled at her as she popped them in her mouth.

"Can I have my seat now" she asked I shook my head

"Nope"

"Don't you have friends to eat with" she asked looking toward my usual table I nodded but still didn't move

"Fine I'll just sit on you" she shrugged he shoulders and sat on my lap. I held her by her waist and put my chin on her shoulders so I could see over her.

"hmmm I'm not going to complain either" she elbowed me

"Ouch you sure are violent today" I mumbled remembering how she bit my finger earlier

"Shut up Ash" I rolled my eyes laughing I reached around her and a grabbed some gummy worms but she snatched it out of my hand.

"No you can't have any"

"What! but I took my time to pick all of them out a bag for you that is manual labor" I told her she turned her head back towards me smirking

"So" I glared at her

"You do realize you're sitting on my lap and I will push you off of me" she looked at me like she didn't believe me.

"No you won't cause then I won't talk to you again" she stated smirking

"I just want one gummy" I whined I know it's not cool to whine, but I wanted a gummy and I get what I want.

"Fine" she held up a gummy worm and I grabbed it with my mouth.

"Thank you" I said before placing my chin back on her shoulder.

"OMG you guys are so cute together" Jenna exclaimed me and Gabriel looked at her and laughed.

"We are not together" we said at the same time she looked at us unconvinced.

"What, we're just friends" I told her

"Yup best friends" Gabriel added cool I just got upgraded to best friend.

"Right whatever you say" She said smirking at us

"Where did you whisk my friend off to yesterday?" Samantha asked curiously the whole table was now tuned into the conversation.

"Cold stone and the park, remind me not to give her anymore ice cream anytime soon and I advise you not to give her any either" I told them seriously while Gabriel looked at me confused.

"What? You were all over the place yesterday not to mention you face planted on the ground yesterday" her friends laughed at her and I grinned

"I told you not to tell anybody about that" She said accusingly looking at me with horror

"No you didn't"

"Well you should know not to tell someone that"

"I didn't know Geesh give me a break today will you" I mumbled to her.

"Are you sure you guys aren't secretly seeing each other behind our backs" Jenna asked suspiciously I rolled my eyes.

"I think I would know if I was dating someone"

(Gabriel POV)

I wondered how Ash knew I liked gummies and jellybeans not to mention what flavors I'll have to ask her about that later. In the mean time I'll just enjoy my gummies and jellies.
Jenna keeps eyeing us  as we all talked about stupid stuff. I could tell  her little head was scheming up something. For some reason she thinks Ash and I are going out, we are just friends , we have been getting close and I feel comfortable and safe around her but I only see her as a friend nothing more and plus I'm positive that I'm not a lesbian or bi.

I shifted a little leaning further back into Ash trying to get comfortable we had another 40 minutes till lunch was over.

"Can you keep still?" Ash asked I looked at her moving again

"I'm trying to get comfortable" I told her shifting against her she groaned and turned me sideways so that my head was leaning on her shoulder and my legs were across her lap.

"Better" she asked staring at my gummies

"Yup" I grabbed jelly beans and gummies off the table and started munching on them. I continued to listen to their conversation well Matt and Ash conversation about sports, Amber Samantha and Jenna were whispering about something occasionally glancing at me I raise my eyebrow at them and they smirk back at me. They are up to something I can tell. I'm sure I'll find out sooner or later. I looked up to see Ash staring at my gummies again I sighed and held one up for her she smiled and ate it going back to her conversation with Matt while I kept feeding her gummies and eating my jelly beans. This is how we were for the rest of lunch me in my own little world while feeding Ash gummies and everyone one else emerged in their own conversations.

(ASH POV)

I had just finished with practice when I saw Aly by her locker.
"Aly we need to talk" she looked at me and nodded

"About "

"I need to know what happened with Carey" her eyes glazed over as she began speaking

"Ash I can't tell you I want to tell you but I promised her I wouldn't" she mumbled I hit the locker causing her to jump.

"Damn it Aly just tell me what happened" I told her angrily she narrowed her eyes at me

"Why do you want to know?" she asked

"Because I need to know if he did this to other people" her eyes widen

"What do you mean?"

"Gabriel Aly" her eyes widen in fear

"Did he" she asked

"No I got there in time now tell what happened" she sighed

"Remember the party we went to our freshmen year" she asked I nodded my head that was the last party we all went to as friends.

"Well we were all drinking when Declan dragged Carey upstairs I thought they were just going to make out like they usually did at parties but this time was different Carey said she tried to stop him but he wasn't listening he beat her and rape her" I watched as tears rolled down her face "then he called some of his friends and they each had a round with her, I think Declan may have slipped something in her drink because she said she was conscious of everything happening but she couldn't move she couldn't do anything Ash I should have been there for her I could tell that she was a little out of it but I thought it was from the drinks so I didn't pay attention, I should have known something was up when Declan came back down without her. I even asked him where she was he just smirked at me and left. I went up stairs and into the room Ash she was a mess she was bloody and battered I ran to her and she was just lying there not moving and tears were streaming down her face she looked so broken and I couldn't do anything but hold her and tell her everything was going to be fine I didn't know what to do I stayed with her until she could move again and then I got her up and dressed her and we left the party, she wasn't the same after that she grew more distant and shied away from everybody except you and me, but she couldn't handle it anymore, her parents found out but she didn't want them to press charges so they packed up everything and moved.  She left me message thanking me for everything I've done for her after that I never heard from her again." By the time she was finished she was crying and I was angry that they never told me, I pulled her into a hug as she cried, Carey was like a little sister to me even though we were the same age she was always so small, shy and innocent, I remember how she grew distant after the party but I thought it was because she broke up with Declan after the so called break-up she never left mines or Aly's side and when Declan came around she would always grab on to me. Aly finally lifted her head up her eyes were red and puffy.

"C'mon I'll take you home" she nodded and followed me to my car.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"Carey didn't want anyone finding out and I promised I wouldn't tell" I sighed and unlocked the doors and got in.

"Is Gabriel ok" She asked as she put her seatbelt on

"Yea she is still a little shaken up but she fine" She nodded

"That's why you guys have  been so close to each other" I shrugged

"I guess but I like her she's fun to hang around"

"I notice, both of you are glued at the hip" she laughed slightly I smiled.

"Well most friends are, aren't they, look me, you, and Carey were glued at the hip before everything" laughing we were like the three musketeers before Declan showed up.

"Yea but you and Gabriel seem different" I looked at her confused

"What do you mean"? I asked glancing at her as she smiled

"Nothing just thinking" I pulled up at her house

"Bye Ash thanks for the ride" she said as she got out

"Hmm" I pulled off going home. Once home I headed straight to the shower then to bed.

*Next Day*

(Gabriel POV)

"Gabriellll wake up" my little sister jumped up and down on my bed. I groaned

"Mackenzie get off my bed"

"No mommy told me to tell you to get up" She continued to jump I turned over and

kicked her making her fall.

"I'm up ok" I mumbled getting off the bed watching as she ran out my room. I did my basic routine wash brush and dress. I grabbed my bag and phone and headed down stairs where my mother was talking on the phone as usual in her business suite.

"Morning Mom" I mumbled and sat down she looked at me and put the phone against her chest.

"Hey honey you're going to have to take Mackenzie to her school today I have a business meeting to go to" she went back to her call grabbed her brief case and left before I could respond  I turned to my little sister. She still had on her PJ's I sighed.

"Kenzie let's get you dressed for school" I lifted her up and took her upstairs where I proceeded to dress her she picked out a pink and white sun dress and pink flats. I grabbed her bag pack and we headed out. I buckled her into her car seat and went to my side of the car. As I was pulling out I heard a loud pop. I groaned could this day get any worse.

"Gabriel what was that" my sister asked from the back looking at me curiously.

"Nothing I'll be back" I got out the car and headed to the back where I saw a flat tire. I mumble curse word and got back in the car taking Kenzie out and headed into house.

"Gabriel why are we back inside"

"Because my car broke" I told her pulling out my cell phone I had an hour to get to school and get Kenzie to school. I scrolled through my contacts until I found the person I needed to call. I pressed talk listening to it as it rang.

"Hello" I heard a gruff voice answer oh I hope I didn't wake her

"Het are you still asleep" I asked

"No I'm just getting up" I heard a stumbling in the background

"I need a favor"

"And what might that be"

"Can you take me and my sister to school please"

"Yea sure shit owww" I heard something fall followed by her cursing.

"Ash are you ok" I asked

"Yea I'll be there in a few dammit Andrew get your ass up here and pick this shit up" I heard her yell before she hung up. I looked at my phone frowning and shrugged.

"Go watch T.V until our ride gets here" she nodded and ran into the living room.

(ASH POV)

I could hear my phone vibrating on the dresser who the hell is calling me so early I reached my hand out searching for my phone until I finally grabbed it, I didn't bother to look at the caller I.D before I answered it.

"Hello" I answered with my eyes closed and head still in the pillow

"Are you still sleeping" Oh it was Gabriel I sat up and rubbed my eyes

waking up of course I'm still sleep.

"No I'm just getting up" I moved around on my bed taking a look at the clock it's so early.

"I need a favor"

"And what might that be" I flung my legs over the edge of the bed

"Can you take me and my sister to school"

"Yea sure shit owww" my foot slipped on something taking me down to the ground what the hell is a skate board doing in my room in front of my bed I stood up and looked around to see my floor covered in toys.

"Ash are you ok" I heard from the phone that was on the floor I picked it up I know it was Andrew that idiot.

"Yea I'll be there in a few" I walked towards my bathroom trying to dodge all the toys only to step on a toy jack " Dammit Andrew get your ass up here and pick this shit up" I yelled hanging up the phone, I heard footsteps coming towards my room. I took a shower and got ready by the time I came out the bathroom my room was back to normal. Where the hell did he get all those toys anyway, sometimes I feel like he's the youngest instead of the oldest. I grabbed my keys and bag and went down stairs.

"Well good morning someone's up early" Sarah said as I came in the kitchen, her and Jessica were sitting at the table talking.

"Yea Gabriel's car broke down so I'm going to pick her up" I grabbed a pop tart

"When is she going to come visit again we need some more girls in the house" Sarah said smiling.

"I don't know and I'm not bringing her here with the two idiots upstairs" She laughed while I frowned at Jessica who was glaring at me.

"What is your problem you've been glaring at me since you got here?" I asked her

"My problem? Look at you and what you've become its embarrassing" she eyed with disgust.

"What do you mean what I've become?" I asked Sarah looked stunned as she looked from me to Jessica.

"Exactly what I meant what you become" She scrunched her face up

"If it is so embarrassing then leave, quite frankly I don't give a damn what you think of me and I'm not looking for your approval I live my life the way I want to" I hissed  before leaving.

I pulled up to Gabriel's house to see her and her sister standing outside waiting. I got out the car and grabbed the car seat Gabriel had in her hand and put it in the back seat.

"Hey Ash this is Mackenzie" She said looking at the little girl who was hiding behind her leg staring  with wide eyes she was so adorable she looked just like Gabriel except she had hazel eyes instead of the emerald green, her hair was also curly it reminded me of Shirley Temple curls, she had on a cute little pink and white sundress on with pink flats she even had a matching pink and white ribbon in her hair tied in a bow on the side of her hair, I bend down to her and smiled.

"Well hello there cutie I'm Ash and look what I brought you" I pulled out a lollipop she eyes widened and she smiled stepping out from behind Gabriel.

"Thank you Ash" she said shyly blushing and took the lollipop.

"You're welcome now come on we have to get you to school" She nodded her head sucking on the lollipop. I stood back up to see Gabriel looking at me weird.

"What I always wanted a little sister or brother" I told her she laughed and put Mackenzie in the back and strapped her in the car seat.

"Thanks for the ride I really appreciate it" I nodded

"So which way is her school?" I asked she pointed me in the directions we causally talked throughout the ride Mackenzie was talking up a storm, it seems like she has a little crush on some boy in her class which I think is the cutest thing ever. I watched as Gabriel walked Mackenzie into the school and come back out.

"She seems to like you usually she doesn't like strangers"

"Well I'm not a stranger and plus I gave her a lollipop" She laughed and turned to me

"Speaking of candy where is mine?" She asked I looked at her" I believe you had yours yesterday if I remember correctly"

"That's not fair and how did you find out I liked green gummies and strawberry jelly beans"

"Just something I like to call intuition" I told her as I parked we got out the car and headed into the school.

"Ash that doesn't make any sense at all and your fan club is glaring at me" she said looking around I laughed at her as she glared back at the group of girls by the entrance.

"This should be fun lets provoke them" Before Gabriel could protest I put my arm around her waist and pulled her to me we walked past them.

"Hi Ash" all of them said smiling at me and glaring at my arm and Gabriel.

"Hello ladies" I was still laughing at Gabriel who had a sour look on her face as she pulled my hands off of her.

(Gabriel POV)
Because of Ash girls have been glaring at me all day in the hall. I was on my way to lunch when I was stopped by a crowd of girls. Where the heck did they come from?

"May I help you?" I plastered a fake smile on my face.

"Yes you can stay away from Ash she ours" I looked at them and laughed

"Whoa hold on you can have her we are just friends and she is not an object you can't just claim her" They glared at me before they parted letting Cynthia through.

"Listen here you little whore I know what you are up to so stay away from my Ash" she said I glared at her.

"Whore? me?" I laughed at her then narrowed my eyes "I'm not the one throwing myself at her every five minutes when it is clear that she doesn't want you and she's not a fucking object you can claim, now if you'll excuse me I have lunch to get to" I walked away from them not waiting for a response. Who does she think she is calling me a whore.

"Stupid fan club" No this is Ash's fault she shouldn't have done that this morning. I steppedinto line.

"Stupid fan club Stupid Ash" I mumbled I felt to arms wrap around my waist pulling me backward slightly

"Hey I' m not stupid I didn't do anything this time" She said resting her chin on my shoulder.

"Yes you did that little stunt you pulled this morning" she looked confused then a light build went off in her head.

"Yea, that. Remember?" she let out a nervous laugh she was loosening her arms around my waist.

"Get your ass back over here I'm not finished with you yet" she tighten her arms again and gulp.

"Ok now where was I, Oh right that little stunt you pulled this morning has half of the girls in this school coming after me and I will not put up with this. You need to control your whores" I hissed at her

"Ye ma'am I will tell them to leave you alone" I smiled and turned to her.

"Now you can go" I grabbed my tray and went to my table and sat down leaving her standing there confused.

"Hey guys"

"Are you ready for the pep pep pep ralllllllyyy tomorrow" Jenna sung

"I think she's more excited than the actual teams" Matt said laughing

"You should become a cheerleader Jenna" I told she looked at me frowning

"That is a good idea, but sadly I hate staying after school you got your outfit for tomorrow" she asked.

"Nope I'm going to be spontaneous and pick it out in the morning" they looked at me like I was stupid.

"What I like to be spontaneous" I mumbled chewing on my fries

"Matt do you happen to know anybody that can fix cars I have a flat tire"

" Umm I don't know why are you asking?" I gave him a flat look

"Well because you're a boy you should know this stuff" I say frowning at him as he frowned back at me.

"That' so sexist just because I'm a boy doesn't mean I should know" I huffed at him.

"Is that a yes or no matt" I asked him glaring

"No I don't know any place"

"That's all you had to say I don't see how you put up with this Amber" I looked at her and she was smiling

"Sometimes I don't even know how myself"

"Hey I'm right here you know and you're supposed to stick up for me I'm your boyfriend" she shrugged at him

"Sorry Matt you know what they say" she looked at us as we all said "Bros before hoes."

"Fine be that way me and Tristan will hang out together right man" he looked at Tristan who looked bored.

"No I'm good" we all laughed at Matt who looked like he was about to cry.

"Aw it's ok" I patted him on his back

"You should give me your lollipop to make me better" he said grabbing one out of my

pocket. Where did that come from I reached and snatched it from him and frowned at it.

"I don't remember having a lollipop" I mumbled to myself oh I laughed Stupid Ash.

" Ok she insane now moving on to the next topic" Jenna said before talking about someone name Samantha.

(Ash POV)

"What did you do this time Ash?" Aly asked as I sat down I looked at her confused

"I didn't do anything"

"So her glaring at you and you looking scared was nothing" she smirked

"Yup nothing something just happened this morning with that stupid club that follows me around all the time" I told her she raised an eyebrow.

"Let me guess they're harassing her"

"I don't know she didn't tell me said quote" I need to control my whores" unquote I told her I would talk to them" I shrugged it off

"They're probably just jealous"

"Of what? Its not like I'm dating her or anyone for that matter"

"True, but you guys are close so they're probably assuming something" she said finishing the rest of her pizza.

"Ash come on we have to go meet coach" Sean said I nodded and stood up to leave glancing over at Gabriel who was frowning at the lollipop I snuck in her pocket I chuckled and left the cafeteria with Sean heading to the gym.

"Do you know what he wants?" I asked Sean he shook his head

"Choosing team captain and  the shoes came in today as well" he said

" I don't understand why I have to be there, I can get my shoes at the end of the day" I sighed I hate when the coach calls us during lunch I like to take my time and eat instead of rushing.

"You don't want to know the captain of the team" he asked I shook my head

"Nope I feel sorry for whomever it is I would hate being captain" he looked at puzzled

"Why? it looks great on transcripts"

"It's too much work and responsibility"

"Ash baby wait up" I heard Cynthia yell I turned around to see her running towards me I sighed and turned to Sean.

"I'll catch up in a minute" He nodded and left.

"What Cynthia?"

"Ash don't be that way" she pouted at me

"Look I don't have time for this what do you want?" I asked getting annoyed

"Nothing I just wanted to see you and hang out like we used to" she clung onto my arms I looked at her like she was crazy.

"No get off of me and tell your little club not to bother Gabriel anymore" I shook her off of me and she glared at me before I turned around and left.

"Davis what took you so long" the coach yelled at me

"Sorry coach something happened" he looked angry as I ran over to the team and sat down on the bleachers next to Sean.

"More important than basketball meetings" he asked

"No coach it won't happen again" he nodded his head.

"Everyone get your basketball shoes make sure you get the right boxes once you get them come back over here so I can announce the Team Captain" Everyone slowly got up and made their way to the pile of shoe boxes.

"Hustle people hustle" he yelled causing everyone one to run and grab the right boxes. When everyone was seated we waited for the coach to begin.

"Ok this year I chose someone who has been showing great potential since their freshman year. This person has shown respect for the team and has proven many times that they have great leadership skills and enthusiasm. After going over the names with the JV coach I have decided that this year team Captain will be Ash Davis" he finished looking at me I was shocked to say the least I groaned inwardly out of all the things in the world why this. I stood up and shook the coach hand.

"Don't let me down Ash" he told me in a gruff voice

"I won't coach" I told him as the basketball team swarmed me congratulating me.

"Lighten up it's not going to be that bad" Sean said as we made our way back to the cafeteria I gave him a dry look. We enter the cafeteria and I sat down with my head down.

"What wrong with her?" Alex asked

"Nothing she made Team Captain" I groaned

"And why exactly is that a problem?" He asked Aly laughed at his question

"Because Ash does not like responsibility at all and being captain requires responsibility"

"Shut up I don't want to talk about it" I grumbled at her.

"The poor baby want mommy to make it all better" Alex said in a baby voice I looked at him and glared before standing up and walking away.

"Now look what you did she's leaving" Aly said scolding him I walked over to Gabriel table and pulled a chair up sitting at the head of the table.

"Ash what are you doing?" Gabriel asked looking at me curiously as I put my head down

"Getting away from them" I mumble into my arm before hiding my face.

"Someone's in a bad mood" Samantha said laughing I lifted my head up and flipped her off.

"Ash that wasn't nice" Gabriel said I looked at her to see her frowning at me I smirked at her.

"I know and I have practice today you going to wait for me to give you a ride or do you have one? "I'll wait for you that way I can watch and see if you're actually good or if the girls are just blinded by your goods looks" I laughed at her and smiled.

"Trust me I can play cant I" I looked at her friends who nodded at me

"Yeah I have to admit she can play the looks are just the bonus" Jenna said winking at me, I smiled at winked back and turned back to Gabriel.

"I think I'm going to like her, I love a lady who compliments me" I told her Gabriel shook her head at me.

"Yea that's not all I can do" she said licking her lips

"I think I'll take you up on that offer soon I need something new and fresh in my life" I told her grinning and winking.

"I think this will work out well for me too I always was curious about the other side" Jenna explained to me I nodded.

"Trust me you won't regret it one bit" I added wiggling my fingers at her she looked at them with wide eyes smirking

"Hey no flirting with my friends" she said me and Jenna both laughed.

"Sorry Jenna, Gabriel's being selfish and doesn't want to share" I told her Jenna pouted

and looked at Gabriel who hit me upside my head.

"Ouch" I rubbed my head playfully glaring at her.

"Learn to shut up Ash" she said scowling at me I grinned.

"Don't worry Ash we can sneak around she won't know" Jenna joked we both laughed as Gabriel looked at both of us.

"You're not very nice and I gave you a lollipop and this is how you repay me" she nodded her head.

"Shut up before I send you back to your friends" she turned back to her friends who were still laughing at me, Jenna, and Gabriel.

"Ash are you pumped for your big game tomorrow" Amber asked she always was the quite one she rarely talked around me.

"Don't remind me" I groaned they looked at me confused.

"Shouldn't you be excited" Samantha asked

"No they made me the stupid captain of the team" I grumbled they looked at me shocked.

"Well that's a good thing isn't it?" Gabriel asked I groaned again

"No its not it means I'm in charge of everything and responsible for everything including wthe plays"

"Ok someone doesn't like to be in charge. I always pegged you to be the one on top of things" Amber said I smirked at her

"Trust me I'm always on top" I grinned at her as she blushed and rolled her eyes.

"No flirting with my friends" Gabriel said I turned my head towards her.

"Don't worry Gabriel there is plenty of me to go around and plus I always let my best friend go first and trust me I'm the best the first couple of  times around more energy " she blushed and glared at me before smacking me behind my head again.

"God women I'm just playing you know that hurts after a while" I mumbled while her friends laughed at us as we gathered our bags to leave for next class.

"Ash you never learn do you" Gabriel said

"Nope that's why I have you to teach me" I laughed as she scrunched up her face walking away from me.

(Gabriel POV End of the day)

I'm sitting on the bleachers watching the basketball team run back and forth with the ball. To tell you the truth I have no idea what's going on I've  been in here for about 2 hours watching them. Ash currently has the ball; I watch as she runs down the court and shoot the ball making the point as usual before running back to the other side blocking the player. I can see why she is captain she keeps focus during the games and sometimes she helps the players with their position. The coach blew his whistle and told everyone to head home.

Sean and Ash walked over to me both out of breath and covered with sweat. Ash hair was matted down to her head and sticking out at odd angles. I smiled at them.

"You both look tired"

"I know I am I'll see you both later I'm going home" we said good bye and Ash grabbed her bags.

"Lets get you home" I nodded and followed her out to the car.

"You know Ash you should be proud to be the team captain I can see that a lot of players depend on you" I said as we pulled out the parking lot.

"I know I just don't want to be the captain I don't want the responsibility if we lose a game because of a play I picked" she sighed

"Everyone's going to make mistakes and besides it's a team effort you can't predict what's going to happen" she didn't reply as she continued driving.

"I guess you're right about that" she replied as she pulled up into my driveway

"I'm always right Ash" she laughed

"Before I go do you know anyone who can change a tire" I asked

"Yea I'll do it for you tomorrow" I looked at her skeptically

"You can change a tire" She shrugged

"Yup according to my father all of my children should learn how to fix a car just in case you get stranded" I laughed at her imitation of her father's voice.

"Thanks again for the ride Ash"

"No problem same time tomorrow" she asked

"Yea but my mom should be able to take my sister to school" she nodded

"Ok don't forget no uniform tomorrow"

" I know I'll text you later"

"Alright bye" I waved at her as she drove off. I headed into the house to find another note sitting on the counter.

Me and your father have a late meeting Mackenzie is over a friends house she should be back by 5:30 can you cook dinner for her please and thank you

I sighed and looked at the time she would be over here in ten minutes I took out some food and started cooking.

It's a little bit longer than usual 15 pages on word which equaled 6,675 words..

\Oh and I did not even read this over once its too long to read over so excuse all missing words or misspelled words

I'll be focusing on building the characters relationship for the next few chapters
