Chapter 216
A Farewell After Being Reborn
âIsnât this Holcomb Corporationâs employee group? What are you doing here?â Sage asked as she
stared at Tiana.
Tiana took her phone back and continued to scroll through the comments with gusto. âItâs not a work
group. Itâs a gossip group that the employees set up separately. Calvin roped me in.â Sage was
amused. âWow. Your networking skills sure are impressive. Not only are you close to Calvin, but youâve
also wormed your way into Holcomb Corporation, huh?â
Tiana shrugged. âIâm just here for the latest gossip. Donât worry. No one knows weâre friends, so
everyone here is free to speak their mind.â
Sage was at a loss for words.
Meanwhile, Ivy was leafing through documents in one of the resortâs rooms when she was interrupted
by a series of notifications on her phone.
The wound on her forehead hadnât fully healed yet, so she couldnât risk getting it wet, let alone indulge
in the saunas. Hence, she didnât join the others downstairs and instead focused on the project she had
found for Henry.
Ivy picked up her phone to see what the commotion was about. Her smile instantly froze after she
unlocked her phone and saw the photos of Ian and Sage. There were several photos of them hugging
each other intimately. In the photos, Ian was looking at Sage tenderly.
Gripping her phone tightly, she wished she could crush it. Ivy had checked with Ianâs secretary before
coming here to confirm that Ian was alone. So why was Sage here? Why were she and Ian publicly
displaying their affection?
Ivy forced herself to calm down and messaged Delilah. âI asked you to patch things up with Sage. Why
havenât you made any progress?â
She couldnât take the initiative to do anything because no one had given her any information about
Sage.
Delilah immediately gave Ivy a call. âMs. Shekdotter, Sage is wary of me. She doesnât listen to anything
I say, so we canât rush things.â
âWhat are you going to do about it then?â Ivy asked harshly.
Delilah responded, âDonât worry. I took your advice and reâestablished business relations with the
Joyner family. Once everything is settled, Iâll visit Mr. Joyner Senior more often. Sage will surely come
around then.â
âWhy did she suddenly distance herself from you?â Ivy inquired, her brows knitted.
Delilah answered, âI have no idea. When you posted on social media last time, I suggested we go and
teach you a lesson, but she didnât budge at all. I was indignant and went alone, but she turned against
me after I sent her the recorded video. Also, I feel like sheâs become much more intelligent and
assertive.â
She paused before continuing, âThis time, I wonât underestimate her anymore. That is why I intend to
get to Mr. Joyner Senior.â
Ivy had also noticed that. Sage had become much sharper. She wasnât as easily provoked anymore,
and she no longer acted impulsively. She also seemed uninterested in Ian.
However, Ivy wasnât buying it. There was no way that Sage would have no feelings for Ian. She mustâve
just become more manipulative and realized that men always wanted what they couldnât have. That
must be the reason why Ian had started to see her in a different light.
Based on the current situation, it was clear that it was no longer possible to make Tan hate or distance
himself from Sage.
Ivy had never been able to figure out what was on lanâs mind. Apart from being annoyed, he had never
wanted to get a divorce, even though Sage had done a lot of foolish things. If he wanted a divorce, he
had plenty of ways to go about it, even if his grandmother was trying to stop him.
Since it was impossible to get through to Ian, she might as well start with Sage. After all, it was much
easier to get a woman to give up than a man.
Ivy calmed down, and her tone softened. âKeep up the good work, and rest assured, youâll be duly
rewarded for your efforts.â
âWill do. Besides, youâve never let me down. Oh, by the way, Iâll need your help to negotiate the terms
with âmy fatherâs friendâ to seal the deal with the Joyners,â Delilah said.
Ivy nodded. âI understand.â
Then, she made two more phone calls before turning off her laptop and changing into a new set of
clothes.
Meanwhile, Calvin arrived at Greenfield Resort. âWhatâs the meaning of this, lan? Why canât I call you?
Do I seriously have to go through Mr. Zane to get to you?â
Ian was lounging under the sunshade and feeling very calm. He couldnât be bothered to waste his
breath on Calvin. âWhat brings you here?â he asked lazily.
Calvin responded, âI was going to tell you I couldnât make it because I have to have dinner with my old
man tonight. Yet, your words got under my skin, so I decided to come over and hash it out with you!â
