Chapter 8

"Did you see? Did you see? He was pissed! He was so mad! Right? Right? You saw him didn't you?"

"Okay Kook, okay! Yes, I saw him!" Jimin hyung said letting one of his explosive laughter out. We were laying in his room now.. "You have to be quiet because they will hear you though!"

"Hyung!" I whispered "What did you really think about all that? I mean he was mad, no?"

"Kook, I gotta tell you I was right as freaking always!"

I rolled my eyes at that as I sat up to face him now. "Hyung, so what now?"

"That's what I should be asking you, what are you gonna do?" he asked sitting up with me

"Hyung, I don't know... I don't know about relationships or moves... shouldn't he be doing the rest?"

"Kook!" Jimin hyung sat up to join me, "He's your friend first remember, just talk to him like always!" he ruffled my hair as I looked down - drowning in my own sorrow

"Hey Jimin! ... oh sorry I'll leave.." it was Taehyung hyung, and he walked out as if he saw a ghost

"Tae no come back!"

He put his head back in the door and said, "No, you guys are talking about something important I guess, I'll come back... it wasn't important anyways..."

Before he could leave I said, "No hyungie please come back!"

He looked displeased at that but didn't protest as he made his way down to sit on the bed with us. As he sat down he made sure to not make eye contact with either of us.

"What is it Tae?"

"Nothing, I was wondering if you wanted to play volleyball outside... but you guys are talking...so it's okay!"

"Well yeah of course I would, I wanna talk for a bit more but we can go in like thirty minutes? Wanna join us?" Jimin hyung asked with a smile

Taehyung hyung returned the smile, "That sounds good. What are we talking about?"

"Oh, just you know Kooks problems... you know Kook let me go get us some drinks and maybe you can tell Tae what you were telling me, you know?" he gave me a wink as he was beginning to crawl out of bed.

"Ah, no I- ya know that won't be necessary, really!" Tae hyung begin to protest and grabbed his hand to try to stop Jimin hyung from leaving

"You're better at this dating stuff than me Tae, plus you have dated one whole girl more than me ya know? Tae you just get relationships.." he was fully off the bed now, "Tell him Kooks, how you feel about this girl and all!" he made a run for it. He literally made a run for the door leaving us both to sit here trying not to be awkward, the key word was trying!

"Ah.." Tae hyung said finally breaking the silence

Thank god, cause I was basically sitting there frozen, unable to say or do anything. I was waiting for him to say literally anything after that 'Ah' but damn it never came. I looked at him waiting for him to finish but he just sat there with his mouth open in that 'Ah' shape.

"Sooooo..." I said breaking the silence, again

He gulped closing his mouth, "I mean, like what did you need to talk about?"

"I mean it's nothing other than I like her..."

"Yeah... so...why her?"

"Why do I like her?"

"....Yeah... what made you say she was it..."

I got nervous at the question, Jimin hyung wasn't here to save the day and God knows if he was ever coming back, I may throw him in the water later. "I don't know hyung, haven't you looked at a person and thought damn this person is it for me... I don't know what it is about them but they really are it?"

"Mhm, like they feel right?"

"Yeah, she felt right. I have known her my whole life...erm feels like that ya know? And she's comforting, she um... probably will get me, and um probably will be my best friend, ya know? We seem really compatible..."

"That's a lot of probably.. Jungkookie you got all that from an arm touch?"

I let out a giggle not knowing where this conversation (about a girl who I have no idea about) is going. I looked up at a serious Taehyung hyungs face. He's never this serious... oh boy its getting awkward again.

"You should be with someone you know, that person is gonna love and be with you no matter what, like they should be a puzzle that was missing but ends up completing...you."

"Hyung I like a person like that... very gay what you said before by the way..."

"How can you like a person like that? You literally just said you only met her that one time and only liked her when your hands touched and stuff... what are you..?"

"Hyung, I like.." I started, "I like this person whose been an amazing friend to me right? I think they like me too... but its complicated cause we're friends... this person, this amazing person is not only cute, they're sweet, they care about me like crazy, is protective over me and takes care of me.. but...but" I was struggling now

"Is this the girl you spilled coffee on? I am confused... who are you?"

"Hyung, you don't understand... I like - "

"Hey you brats, get your butts over here and help me start dinner, I know I spoil you both rotten but wow you won't even help your own mother in the kitchen?"  we both turned as we heard the sound of Jin hyung nag, he was standing at the door hands on his hips, ears pretty close to turning red.

"Hyung give me a second, Jungkookie was about to say something to me..." Tae hyung started

"No, no, it's okay hyung we will help." I got up off the bed to leave and Tae hyung was confused and looked a little upset at me but soon followed

That was stupid, what was I thinking? We're literally leaving tomorrow morning and I just don't wanna make this trip awkward... I went way too far and now he's probably wondering who the heck I was talking about.

"Okay so I was thinking about grilling our meats outside on the grill cause Joon and Jimin just went out to buy fireworks for night time, so in the mean time, help me get it prepared. The sun is about to set soon, wow I literally was in the kitchen all day so I am taking a break.

"Jimin left? That son of a..."

"Wait you literally weren't in the kitchen for lunch, I did eighty percent of that hyung!" Yoongi hyung complained cutting Tae hyung off

"You brat, you made me get up fifty million times as you couldnt find where anything was, I was just standing there with you in the kitchen literally! I will go outside and I will tan with the sun that's left... which works out cause I literally get sunburned so easily.. while you three figure out dinner!" Jin hyung left at that

The three of us had the same facial expressions, we love our mom but the constant nagging is a bit, you know annoying. Yoongi hyung rolled his eyes, "Well Mom's need their rest too I guess.." I giggled at that, and Tae hyung let out a scoff

"Wow look at the night sky! I swear it's not as pretty when we're in college!" Hobi hyung said while he sat out in the patio area watching us grill... "Tae don't burn that, flip the meat it smells like it's burning!"

"Hyung, I am the chef, don't tell me what to do!" Tae hyungie said in his sarcastic way. I looked over at his side of the grill. Oh man, cooking isn't something he's that great at either... he's really good at making ramen you know when I am watching over, and cereal, and and toast you know when he doesn't toast the bread and just adds jelly, ooooh he's super good at peanut butter and jelly too, and... and he also serves the best water with the right amount of ice... ah okay I will stop, I am making it worse.

"If I don't I am gonna have to eat burned meat, I don't wanna taste smoke, I wanna taste the meat!" Hobi hyung sang as he looked up at the sky again

"Hobi hyung you might think the sky is prettier here cause we see school as a jail!" Joon hyung added

I flipped the meat Tae hyung was refusing to flip as he gave me a glare, I pointed at the blackness forming on the meat so he could see it was burning.

"I think that's definitely it, we're not thinking of much here!" Hobi hyung said smiling, eyes still not leaving the night sky

"But like aren't y'all doing stuff you're passionate about? Tae hyungie and I should be the ones who thinks school is a jail!" I added as I looked at the rest of them, I saw them trying not to laugh at us but they were all staring at the both of us standing in front of the grill. "What?"

"Y'all barely go to class, how is it a jail for you two? These business majors man, life is too good!" Namjoon hyung said with the rest of them giggling and laughing

"Hey we study for tests and go to class..." Tae hyung said as I looked over him... "Erm well Jungkook makes sure I go to class and study for tests..."

"Yeah that's what I thought hyung!" I scoffed grabbing the meats off his side of the grill as they were obviously done, "Here guys, you guys can eat now. Don't worry Yoongi Hyung did the spices on it so it shouldn't suck... fully!"

"Fully? Not even a bit. If it sucked its cause I let you two grill it!" He said smiling

We ate, we laughed, more of Jin hyungs dad jokes that I don't wanna remember- oh goodness. For once in my life I couldn't get myself to feel hungry. I felt weird and anxious about everything. If we go back to our room, hyung is going to ask me, isn't he?

"Kooks eat, you okay?" Joon hyung whispered over at me. I nodded and smiled, and he added some of his meat to my plate  and looked at me waiting for me to eat. I took a big bite to make him happy, and he finally looked away in approval.

I was in the bedroom after my shower, waiting on Tae hyung to finish showering.

"Jungkook, aren't y'all coming? Fireworks! Come on!" Jimin hyung peaked his head in yelling at us

"Okay, okay let me tell Tae hyung he's still in the shower!" I walked over and knocked on the bathroom door; "Hyungie, they're doing fireworks now, you want me to wait?"

"Yeah I am literally done, hold on!"

"Okay!"

I waited sitting at the edge of the bed, on my phone - not much time had passed when I heard the bathroom door open. My nose filled with that flowery scent hyung uses as his body wash. I looked over at hyung and not meeting my eyes he was walking straight towards the door, "Lets go..." he said not looking back

We went outside to the fireworks already happening, I could see the hyungs screaming and laughing like little kids as they watched the sparkles rise to the sky and pop. Different colors of fireworks filled the sky as I looked over at Taehyung hyung. The way he smiled looking up at the sky - as the colors of the fireworks reflected on his face... he was more beautiful that any firework I have ever seen.

"Isn't it pretty Kookie?" he asked me not taking his eyes off the sky

"Mhm... absolutely beautiful hyung!"

He looked over at me when I said that. I realized how I looked at him, and I think he did too. "But you're more.." I stuttered

"Huh?" he asked

"You're more... more..b-beautiful!"

He looked down and laughed at that, "What the heck.." he laughed again, "you're so random, whats wrong with you."

"Jungkook! Come on what are y'all doing?" Jin hyung screamed yelling us to come over and meet them near the water

"Hold on!" I said

"Oh, let them be hyung, they don't have to be here, were lighting it anyways!" Jimin hyung added, then he looked at me giving me his eye smile. The rest of them were too busy lighting the fireworks, talking about how different they all looked, and yelling and screaming in excitement.

"Wanna go over there?" Tae hyung asked

"No, um I actually have to tell you something hyung..."

"What is it Kook?" seeing that I looked uneasy he added, "Kook's its me, you can tell me anything, remember?"

"Hyung... I just...I-" I closed my eyes and looked down, "Hyung I just like you, okay? I really really like you!"

He chuckled, "I like you too Kook, that's what you wanted to say? I obviously like you its why I keep you around!"

"Not that kind of like hyung, I just don't wanna be JUST your friend anymore... I want something more...." I looked over at a speechless hyung then quickly looked back at the ground, "I know were friends, I know we are both men and it'll be weird and different and- and- people will judge and- and- it may ruin our friendship but- but hyung call me crazy but I think you like me too."

I finally managed to look back over at him. He had the most expressionless face, he was staring at me in blank, and I could not read him.... "Hyung?"

"What?" he finally said, in a monotoned voice

"What? Thats how you're gonna reply to that?"

"Hell yeah that's how I am gonna reply to that! Kooks what about the girl you spilled the coffee on?"

I let out an accidental chuckle... oh wait I can't do that cause he was looking at me serious! "Hyung, Jimin hyung made that up to see... how you'd react... there's no girl. I don't even know an Ami!"

"What?"

"Not what again... I am sorry that was not my idea. I am really am truly sorry hyung. I shouldn't have involved Jimin hyung but like I was scared of like my feelings and stuff..."

After a long time of being quiet he finally took a breath to start talking again... he didn't say anything. He looked over at the other hyungs and I followed his eyes. They were all keeping themselves busy not noticing our absence. He looked quickly back at me, stepping towards me as he quickly grabbed both my cheeks and gave me the quickest peck on the lips. My eyes widened as I stared at him in absolute shock. I felt both my cheeks getting hotter, there was no way I wasn't blushing now

"That's for taking my line!"

"Huh" I let out

"That was supposed to be my line, Kook!"

"What was?"

"I was supposed to be the one to say that I liked you first!"

"You what?"

"Kook! I like you.. too... a lot! Kook you have no idea how much I like you! I have liked you for a long time now! Oh god..." he ran his hands through his hair in nervousness, "I don't even know what to say!" he let out a chuckle

"Hyung you just.. kissed me.."

"Yeah sorry, I couldn't help it... been wanting to do that for a long time now too..."

"Well... do it again then!"

His nervousness turned into utter shock as he stared at me. He looked down and smiled nervously again. He bit the side of his lips, and grabbed my arm. "Come here!" he said as started running with me in arm back to the house.
