Chapter 162
The Billionaire’s Maid Bride
Last week, when I visited my mom, she was fine. But now sheâs having some serious reactions. Before she went unconscious, she told me to look for you at the cemetery, maybe after a few visits, Iâd see you there.â
âShe still remembers me⦠Adrianâs eyes welled up with tears and his fist clenched tight, âIt must be Lealis doing, sheâs playing mind games!â
Adrian was ticked off, âMs. Zimmer, could you fill me in on your momâs condition? Which loony bin is she in? Iâll find a way to get her out. Leah must be using this as a tactic to scare you into submission.
Donât worry, Iâve got your back.â
Allison got home, but she was a bundle of nerves.
Who wouldâve thought thatâs how her father and brother kicked the bucket.
And what about Christopher?
In her mind, Mr. Flanagan had always been weak but goodânatured.
He knew the truth all along.
How could he keep calm and carry on?
Her father and brother had bit the dust for him.
Allison never thought the truth would be so harsh, no wonder she overheard the Flanaganâs servant talking behind closed doors.
She had always thought of Christopher as a good guy.
She never imagined that he was the reason she lost her father and brother.
Now, she needed to clear up one more thing with her mom, why their DNA didnât match, and who was her real mom?
But her mom was out cold and under Leahâs control, and with all these questions buzzing in her head, Allison got up.
It was 9 PM.
The Flanaganâs living room was lit up.
The help was prepping breakfast in the kitchen. Allison went upstairs; she knew Christopher was still up in his study.
After a momentâs hesitation, Allison knocked on the door.
âCome in.â
Christopher looked up and smiled when he saw her, âItâs you, Allison; why arenât you in bed?â
âMr. Flanagan, youâre still up too?â
Allison walked in, but Christopherâs expression was hard to read.
Christopher chuckled, âBusiness keeps me busy, I only have one daughter, and sheâs not interested in it. So, I want to hustle while Iâm still young.â
He gestured for Allison to sit on the couch and asked her with concern, âAllison, Mrs. Flanagan mentioned youâre working at Red Jack Club, didnât you ask me to get rid of your truancy records? Why did you drop out all of a sudden?â
Allison grinned; she was sure this was Leah and Penelopeâs doing, and Christopher had no clue. But now, after learning about everything, she was having second thoughts.
But she kept her poker face, âSchool allowed me to take a gap year. Itâs good that Iâm working and saving up; itâll ease Momâs burden.â
When they touched on this topic, a thought crossed her mind. She blinked her eyes and asked him, âMr. Flanagan, if I donât graduate, could I still work at your company?â
Christopher laughed, âOf course. Even if you donât finish your studies, youâre welcome to join us. Itâll secure your future. If you marry Dr. Dylan, you two could live a good life.â
Allisonâs smile faded, âIâve broken up with Dr. Dylan.â
âWhy? Werenât you two together just a few days ago?â Christopher frowned, âAllison, Dr. Dylan is a good man. I can tell that he cares about you.â
âHeâs good now, but will be always be?â Allison looked at him with questions in her eyes..
Christopher sat across from Allison.
