Just then, there was a knock on the door.

It sounded urgent and rough.

Emma frowned, thinking something serious had happened. “Come in.”

Then, Kendra pushed open the door.

Seeing Kendra, Emma asked, “Why are you here?”

Kendra didn’t even look at Emma. She went straight to Jay and said, “Jay, Sadie invites you to do her makeup.”

He stressed the word “invites.”

Emma realized what was happening.

She snorted, “Doesn’t Sadie have her own makeup artist? Jay is Miss Allison’s makeup artist. What’s with all this?”
