Chapter 280
Spoiled by the President
Liam spoke as if he had every right to be there.
Janet stalled. All she could feel was that her stomach was hurting with anger.
After a moment, she smiled coldly. âThis is my home. Iâll open the door if I want to and wonât open it if I donât want to. Whatâs it to you? Rather, arenât you afraid that Iâll sue you for trespassing?â
Liam raised his eyebrows, unmoved.
âGo ahead and try.â
His expression said that he clearly knew that she would not do anything.
Janet choked. She felt as if a fire was burning in her chest. She wanted nothing more than to toss the man in front of her out of the balcony.
After a long time, she spat out, âWhat are you doing here?â
Liam smiled coldly. His cold and wild face looked a touch crueler with that smile.
He came forward step by step, and the cold aura around him forced Janet to retreat until her back finally hit the wall and there was nowhere else to go.
Liam reached out and pinned her against the wall.
A pair of cold and wild eyes stared at her as his lips curved in mockery.
âYouâre pregnant? Whose is it?â
Janet clenched her teeth and used all her willpower to restrain herself from cursing at the man in front of her.
âNone of your goddamn business.â
âHah!â
He suddenly pulled some papers from his pocket and threw it at her face.
âYou stole my seed and went alone to hide in a hellhole like this. Is this an opportunity to stage a drama about deep and unreciprocated love? Or maybe you already know that Iâm back with the Griffin family. What are you trying to do?â
Janet shook.
The sharp edge of the paper had cut the delicate skin on her face, sending a fiery pain through her.
However, it was less painful than the pain of her heart from being torn and gnawed.
She raised her head and glared at him coldly.
Her eyes were cold and red under the eye, with endless restraint and aggravation.
"It's none of my business whether or not youâve returned to the Griffin family, and this child has nothing to do with you."
"My blood runs in his veins, but you dare say that he has nothing to do with me?!"
Liam immediately grew furious.
The grip on her hand rose. The force was so strong that it seemed like it would crush her wrist.
Janet almost cried from the pain.
She had never suffered any injustice since she was a child and had no tolerance for pain. The hardships she had suffered during this pregnancy was more than all the hardships she had endured in the first half of her life combined. Her heart was already aggrieved, and she did not expect him to do this to her.
The pain was unbearable. Coupled with her grievances, tears suddenly streamed down uncontrollably.
"Let go! It hurts!â
The man's expression stiffened.
The woman in front of him had an exquisite face. She had also become well-rounded because of the pregnancy, but it did not hide her charm and mien.
When she cried, her glittering tears were like beads on broken strings, pitiful and fragile, which made people want to take her into her arms and love her.
She was beautiful.
He knew this from the beginning.
If she was not as beautiful, how would he have fallen so deep and gotten so hurt?
Memories of the past came flooding back like a tidal wave, pushing down the little sympathy that had just risen in his heart.
He laughed coldly. âWhy are you crying? Arenât I here now? Iâve been looking for you all over the place but youâre been hiding in this hellhole. I didnât even cry from how hard you made me search for you. What right do you have to cry now?â
The words he spoke were completely at odds with his tone.
If a different person had said it like that, it would sound like they were complaining, or being concerned.
However, when he said it, there were layers and layers of chill.
It was like an endless expanse of ice that radiated coldness from his bones itself.
Janet trembled and wiped her tears away.
Her eyes glanced at the pile of information about her that was scattered on the floor. She smiled desolately.
âYoung Master Jackman has just returned to the Griffin family to acknowledge his ancestors. You should have just stayed at home and enjoyed your riches. Why are you looking for me instead? Gee, donât tell me that youâve fallen in love with me again because of that night!â
âJanet Hancock!â
Liam thundered.
Janet hissed in pain from the grip he had on her wrist.
However, she barrelled on.
âWhy? Youâre allowed to scold me, but Iâm not allowed to scold you? What kind of man are you to resort to violence at every turn? Let go of my hand!
Ah, it hurts.â
Liam gnashed his teeth but ended up loosening his grip.
Jane knew that she could not fight him head-on.
So she took a deep breath as her eyes reddened, and lowered her voice. âEnough already. Just spit it out! What do you want?â
Liamâs face was grim. âWhat exactly happened that night?â
Janet smiled darkly. âWhat do you think happened? Didnât you see it all? Ever since we parted four years ago, Iâve always thought about you and even coveted you all these years.
âI drugged you that night, seduced you, then had a baby in my belly. Is that so hard to understand?â
Liam narrowed his eyes. âI remember thatâs not what you said in the beginning.â
Janet scoffed. âDonât you know? Women are good at lying. I didnât tell you in the first place because I didnât want you to look down on me.â
She paused before adding, âIsnât it said that the more a woman tries to take initiative, the more she will be despised by the man? At that time, we had already slept together. I naturally canât admit that I seduced you, so all the mistakes will naturally have to be your fault.â
Liam did not comment on her words and rather, he asked, âThen why did you sneak away to a foreign country by yourself? Everyone is looking for you but canât find you.â
Janet sneered. The coldness in her eyes grew even deeper. âThatâs because I regretted it. All of a sudden, I didnât want to like you anymore. You werenât as good as I thought you were. Why, do you have a problem with that?â
Her words had caused the manâs eyes to sharpen. He then took a step forward and approached her.
Janet subconsciously took a step back and watched him warily. âWhat do you want? Iâm warning you, this is my home.â
Liam saw her vigilant look and coldly quirked his lips.
His eyes swept over her. âWhat are you thinking of? With how you look now, Iâm not hungry enough to go that far.â
His words made Janet choke. She wanted nothing more than to kick him out.
Growing annoyed, she growled lowly. âThen what are you doing here?â
âOf course, Iâm here to see my son.â
Janet roared in anger. âWhoâs your son?â
Liamâs gaze fell on her bulging belly. The meaning behind it was self-evident.

âBut he has my blood flowing in his body.â
âSo what?â Janetâs face grew colder. âYou contributed nothing to him except for a microscopic little seed. I donât need your contribution either.
âIâm warning you. Donât get any ideas about my child. Iâd rather die than let anyone from your Jackson or Griffin family have their way.â
