Chapter seventy two

“What’s the plan when we get back home?” Henrietta asked.

“We haven’t even called your parents that we are coming back yet” Lucy added.

“I’ll call them tonight” Lucian said.

“Good. Now back to the issue of the heirloom” Henrietta started again.

“As for the dragons we need more time to figure it out. But for the witches it should be with the most ancient witch coven” Jack said.

We all made reason with his assumptions. It was definitely the only reasonable thing we could come up with.

“With that being said. Which coven is the oldest?” I asked.

“It should me my mother’s. She also told me about how old our coven was. It even irritated my dad a lot.

“You have any idea where it is or who the heirloom might be with?” Jack asked. She nodded her head left to right.

“My mother never disclosed those type of information because I wasn’t old enough and she died before I was”

“I’m sorry. I wish I could be of more help”

“Don’t be. We will think of something. I think we all need to rest until tomorrow. We owe it to ourselves and our wolves” Lucian suggested.

“I really need the rest. My arm still aches with certain movements” I confessed. Since we sat together the arm started aching me again like my skin was going to rip off.

“Really? You did not say anything” Lucian accused frowning at me.

“Hey, don’t give me that look. I didn’t want to worry anybody” I frowned back at him.

“Let me see what I can do” Lucy was bending whispering on my shoulder when she suddenly jumped back and screamed. Exactly when she screamed I also screamed in pain.

“WHAT IS HAPPENING?” I cried out when I felt the skin on my shoulder open.

“The wound_” Lucy could not finish her sentence.

“It’s opening up again” She finally said. Everybody else was still, in shock of what was happening.

“Why? I thought the tear healed it?”

“I don’t know” Lucy and I were both screaming at each unable to comprehend the situation.

“Wait, wait something is coming out of it”

Lucian announced. We both kept quiet. All eyes on my now open wound producing a small black item. I stood still despite the panic I felt. Lucy moved closer and whispered,

“This is going to hurt” I wanted to ask what she meant but she already dug into my wound with her hand pulling the substance out. It was bigger than it appeared while inside me.

“F**!” I yelled sending her a glare.

“That slow pain was too much for me to watch. I’m sorry”. She poured water on it to clear the blood on it.

“The wound” Jack pointed at it. “It’s closing” He continued.

“What the hell is happening?” Lucian asked.

“Everything is creeping me out” Ri added. I didn’t want to tell her how that made me feel. It’s fine for her to feel creped out but what about me? I’m the one this is happening to. I can’t even describe how I feel yet and she feels creped out?

“What is that?” I finally asked.

“It looks like the hilt of a sword” Jack answered.

“What does this mean?” I asked.

“I think we should give ourselves a break. We keep this and rest for the rest of the day” Lucian suggested.

“I like that. I’m really tired” I complained.

“Same” everyone agreed. With that I went with Lucian to our room. We slept from evening till the next day. The continuous ring from Lucian’s phone woke us both.

“Who is it” I asked rubbing the sleep from my eyes. I really needed that long rest.

“This afternoon. Yes” Lucian dropped the phone facing me.

“How did you sleep?” He asked.

“Who was that?’ I asked again.

‘It was my father. He needs us in the pack as soon as we can get to the pack” He answered.

“Why? Is something happening?”

“Nothing you should worry about”

“I need to know these things too” I frowned. “A witch coven attacked the pack” He

whispered. “What?”

“Shhh. Don’t tell anyone” He instructed.

“Why?”

“We’ve all been so stressed. They deserve at least this morning to have a little fun before they start a fight again.

“Ok. We should get ready”

“Yes. Let me pick put the clothes and take the bags to the car while you get ready” He kissed my neck before going to the bags.

I went to the bathroom. The small cubicle called the bathroom was rugged looking. I was too tired yesterday to notice. The shower ran so slow I almost broke it. I could barely move around. How did I not notice all these before? Despite all these I still tried to speed up my bath so I could give Lucian enough time so we could all be ready early and have some fun before afternoon.

“You done?” Lucian asked.

“No” I replied washing the soap off my face.

An hour later Lucian and I were both ready. Lucian picked out a jean and a tank top with a big shirt over it.

“Thank you” I smiled at him.

“Stop thanking me Raina, we have a lifetime together and I’ve barely done all I plan to do”

“You and your promises” I teased.

“I plan on fulfilling them all” He kissed me lips.

“We’re ready” Lucy called from outside the room.

“Let’s go back home” I was so happy going back. Everything that has happened has really scared me. I was happy to call the pack my home now.

“Yes” ** “So what’s the plan?” Ri asked.

“There is a big restaurant close to the airport. We can eat and talk about anything but what mess we are in” Jack said.

“I’m down for anything honestly” Ri admitted as we walked to the car.

“And I’m hungry” Lucy added.

“Can I drive?” Henrietta asked.

“If you want to” Jack answered.

“I want to”

We sat together on a big table on our plans for after this whole issue ends.

“I really want to find out more about this. My visions have been little parts of the story. Abigail had two children that I know but what happened with them? I’m confused how she has two too” I added.

“We will all find it out but first we need to go back home and re strategize” Jack said. Only if they knew what we were walking into in the pack.

“Yes. Now let’s enjoy this foreign meal while we wait” Lucian instructed. I knew he didn’t want to talk about home so I helped him divert their attention from home.

“I was thinking a family vacation” I said.

“The first one with you” Lucy smiled.

“You get to pick the place” Lucian told me.

“Really? I really don’t know anywhere” I informed them.

“We have a lot of time to help you in picking a place”

“We’re going to be late” Ri said standing up.

“We still have time” I protested.

“Not everything turns out the way we want it Raina. Stop being overly happy all the time” She snapped.

“Who says I am completely happy? We all have issues we are dealing with personally so I think you need to stop being a bitch to everyone when are all trying to be positive despite what might be of us after this stupid war nobody understands” I was already standing, fuming with so much anger. What has become of the sweet friend Henrietta I met when I just got to the pack.

“Girls” Jack pulled me towards him while Lucy held Ri.

“I’ll pay. Take them to the plane” Lucian left us.

Ibadly wanted to do something to her.

“Don’t try it” Lucy warned.

“I wasn’t going to” I murmured.

“I can’t believe you” Lucian glared at Henrietta when we were all seated in the pane thirty minutes after.

“You’re saying this because she is your mate. She_”

“Everyone can see how you’ve been lately. This is not about Raina. I won’t let you disrespect her. I don’t want a repeat of this” Ri just rolled her eyes.

“I’m I clear?” He asked, his tone authoritative.

“Yes, alpha” She bowed.

“Good” He leaned close to me and kissed my cheeks. The ride was uneventful which I didn’t particularly like.

“I was asleep and that happened and when I was awake nothing happened?”

“You’ve been complaining since we landed. Another time I’m sure a fight will happen” Jack joked.

“It’s not fair”

“Are you serious? Why do you want to see people fight so bad?” Lucy asked.

“Relief I guess for what is ahead of us."

“What is ahead of us” Jack asked.

“Guys” Lucian called.

“I need to tell you guys something” I closed my eyes to avoid the looks when he eventually says it.

“What is it?” Lucy asked.

“A witch coven is attacking the pack as we speak” He announced.

“And you are just saying this when we are five minutes away from the pack!” Jack suddenly stopped th car causing us all to hit our heads.

“Sorry baby”

“I’m fine” Lucy replied.

“Why weren’t informed? We are a team. We deserved to know” Lucy said to Lucian.

“I wanted everybody to enjoy and not worry. I’m sorry guys I really am” He apologized.

“And you knew about this?” I kept my eyes closed.

“Open your eyes Raina” I did.

“I wanted_ I saw reason to agree with Lucian. Didn’t you have a great time not worrying for few hours?” I inquired. I supported Lucian because we already both agreed to stay clear of arguing in public.

“We are wasting time” Ri reminded us. Jack started the engine of the car again.

“Stop the car here” Lucian instructed.

“We should walk in. Raina hold onto the hilt” I dug into the small bag with me and held the HILT we kept wrapped in a small cloth.

“I should change” Henrietta pulled off her cloth and went to the booth to pick a better outfit suitable for fighting.

“Ready?”

“Yes” We chorused. The pack was in total chaos. The small huts outside were burning. Injured pack members crying and hiding.

“We should try to heal them” I offered.

“You have yet to master the skill. We should prevent more people from getting injured. I settled with her logic so we went further into the pack

“LUCY GRINDER GREAT DAUGHTER OF THE GREAT COVEN” A very old woman said.

“How did she_” “She’s my grandmother” Lucy said before I could complete my question.

“Why have you done this” Lucy’s voice now changed.

“We have come to retrieve the heirloom of our people from you”

“What heirloom? I don’t have anything with me”

“Where is your necklace?” The woman asked.

“With me” She answered.

“I want it”

“No. I can’t give it to anyone” Lucy insisted. “Are you saying this necklace is the heirloom for the witches?”

I could not help but ask. The woman looked at me differently like she knew me from somewhere.

“I can’t believe she let you two be together In the same place”

“Who? What are you talking about?” Lucy asked.

“Not something I should tell you. Lucy give me the heirloom” The woman demanded.

“NO!” She insisted.

“EIRENE” The woman called.

“I’m sorry but I can’t” Lucy stretched her hands and pushed her grandmother.

“So stupid of you thinking you can destroy the one who taught you all you know”

“You are forgetting I have been away from you for years now.

“Уй и никогда не возвращай”Lucy kept saying the words.

“I need your help!” She was looking at me. I immediately joined her with saying the spell I didn’t quiet understand. I felt air leave my throat preventing me from breathing.

‘It’s all in your head! Fight it” Lucy yelled. I did as she said and I started to feel better.

“LUCIAN!” I screamed when I heard Lucian’s scream. I was on the floor groaning in pain.

“Don’t stop. They just want to distract you”

He yelled. I continued. After a while the

woman’s figure turned into a white light before disappearing. The other witches who were attacking others were gone to. I ran quickly to where Lucian was, his nose bleeding. His arm bruised.

“Lucian”

“I’m fine” He coughed.

“You don’t_”

“He’s fine. This is not his first time getting injured.

“Excuse me for worrying about my mate” I snapped.

“You’re tired. You should rest” Lucy pulled me up. Lucian smiled at me.

“Have some rest love. I’ll be good as new tomorrow morning”

“Promise?”

“Promise”

With that promise in mind I went to sleep.
