I Love You More Cade by Coral Hume ( Nydia and Jackson) Chapter 29
I Love You More, Cade by Coral Hume ( Nydia and Jackson)
Chapter 29
Cade muttered to himself, That man must have touched Nydiaâs hands.â He let out a sinisterly sweet chuckle.
Cadeâs laughter gave Nydia a chill, yet she managed to keep calm because she considered herself doing the job as âMrs. Jacksonâ well. Thus, she said patiently, âMr. Jackson, please say it outright.â
âCome over here.â Cade sent an order, leaving Nydia no choice but to comply.
Nydia naturally sensed Cadeâs anger, thinking, âI must have come here at the worst timing. Asking for his help seems utterly Impossible now! She silently made her way to Cade, her eyes fixed on her shoes.
Cade suddenly reached out his hand to grab Nydiaâs hand and gripped it. Nydia subconsciously wanted to retrieve her hand, but she was not an equivalent to Cade in terms of strength. Cade pulled Nydia toward him and brought her into his arms. Within a second, Nydia found she was sitting on Cadeâs lap.
Nydiaâs brain went blank for seconds. This intimate behavior seemed inappropriate for two people who hated each other. Leaning against Cadeâs firm chest, Nydiaâs gaze coincidentally fixated on his prominent Adamâs apple.
Nydiaâs breath gradually became faster, and she lost her composure.
Cade swallowed, but there was still no emotion in his eyes.
Nydia felt uncomfortable and struggled to get rid of this situation.
Cade warned, âIf you move a bit more, Iâll do you here.â
Nydia was shocked, glaring at Cade, and could not say a word, but she did follow Cadeâs words and stopped struggling.
Cade raised Nydiaâs hand and stared at it as if he appreciated a piece of art. Suddenly, he asked, âHow are his skills?â
Nydia was confused and did not understand who and what Cade was talking about. âWhat? Ahh!â Before she could finish her words, Cade pressed hard on her wounds.
Pain immediately came from her palm, nearly bringing tears to her eyes. Driven by anger, she screamed, âCade, what are you doing?â
Cade chuckled and asked, âWere you this distracted when Bentley was tending to your wounds?â His icy gaze was as sharp as a knife, capable of piercing through Nydia.
Nydia shivered and broke out a cold sweat on her back. Until then, she finally realized what Josephine tried to imply just now. She reflected, âCade must have seen it when Bentley took me to a treatment room. Cade warned me not to be too close to Bentley, but I didnât listen. Is this whyâ¦â
Nydia suddenly seemed to realize something. She looked at Cade in disbelief and questioned, âDid you set up a trap and fire those two executives?â
Cade answered honestly, âYep.â

Chapter 29
Nydia felt Cade acted like a lunatic and cried, âDo you know how much losses your boring game has caused the company?â
âWell. It is you who is responsible for covering those losses.â Cade replied plainly as if he were chatting with Nydia.
Nydia was too furious to speak, thinking, Thatâs an astronomical number. I couldnât afford it even if I skipped meals and worked for hundreds of years. She wished she could slap Cade, but fear held her back. All she could do was glare at him.
Cade enjoyed the moment Nydia burned with the desire to harm him but remained restrained. It gave him a sense of control and fun.
Nydia trembled when she saw the sinister sneer on Cadeâs face, thinking, âHe must have a great plan in his mind.â
Nydia asked carefully, âThen what are you going to do?â
Cade pretended not to hear Nydiaâs question. Instead, his gaze fell upon Nydiaâs hand. Swiftly, he removed the gauze and tossed it into the trash bin while Nydia watched timidly.
Nydiaâs wounds were exposed in the air. Cade murmured inside. They look better than yesterday!
Before Nydia could say something, Cade suddenly pushed her away.
Nydia lost her balance and accidentally slammed her hand into the desk, causing her to cry out in pain. She cursed inside, âWhat a scum bag!
As Nydia attempted to shoot a glare at Cade, a soft cloth suddenly covered her head. âBoom!â It sounded like Cade threw something heavy on the desk.
She removed the cloth and found it was a piece of gauze. Glancing around, she also spotted a firstâaid kit sitting on the
desk.
Cade said in an icy tone, âDonât ruin the Jackson Groupâs impression with your injured hands. Go back to your office and tend to your wounds there. I wonât tolerate it here. Itâs disgusting.â
Nydia gritted her teeth to suppress her anger, reminding herself, âStay calm. Donât make things worse. It shall pass. It shall
pass.
She lowered her head to check the time on her watch. Only ten minutes were left before the meeting.
Nydia breathed in and out and repeated. After that, she respectfully looked at the devil and said, âMr. Jackson, this is all my fault. Please donât involve innocent people.â She cried inside, âPlease donât fire more experienced employees at the Sharp Group because of me.â
Cade replied, âCertainly. Iâll email you the details of the loss later. Also, you are responsible for the consequences of your actions. So, youâll have to manage the board meeting on your own. Donât worry. Youâve got a thick skin for it.â
Seeing Nydia not say a word, Cade asked, âAnything else?â He slothfully leaned back in his chair and crossed his legs casually, calmly looking at her.
Nydia could hear the sound of gritting her teeth.

Cade added, âLeave my office if you have nothing more to say. Also, donât come to me for anything as if you canât live
without me.â
Nydia left without saying a word.
Alison was waiting for Nydia in the office. Upon Nydiaâs return, Alison sensed her annoyance and refrained from asking for an update.
Alison reminded Nydia in a low voice, âMs. Sharp, only five minutes are left before the meeting.â She glanced at Nydiaâs hands from the corner of her eye and got frightened, crying, âMs. Sharp, your hands! Please give me the kit!â
Nydia let go of the kit and raised her hands. As she stared at them, she got more fidgety. She pondered, âI have no idea how Cade would handle this PR crisis. It was all scripted by him. Anyway, before any result comes out, I must deal with those shareholders.
Soon, pessimistic thoughts captured Nydia. She mused, âHandling the Jackson Groupâs shareholders isnât the most challenging task. Itâs my life partner, Cade. He shouldâve been the one I could rely on after my parents passed away. Ironically, he is the most ruthless person to me. With a snap of his fingers, he can initiate his destructive games and obliterate othersâ lifelong efforts. Over the past five years, fewer and fewer executives from the Sharp Group remain at the Jackson Group. Now, Cade has dismissed two key employees from the Research and Development Department. Only a handful of Sharp Group employees stay. Whatâs worse, theyâre nearly marginalized. Life is getting harder and harder.
Nydia tendered her wounds quickly and headed to the conference room.
The shareholder meeting was confidential. Therefore, all attendees were required to switch off their phones, and only support staff were permitted to enter.
Before entering the room, Nydia instructed Alison, âKeep an eye on the investigation. Rush in to report any results we
receive.â
Alison clenched her hands into fists and replied with determination, âYes, I will. You can depend on me. Iâll rush in without hesitation.â Alison suppressed her timid nature and summoned courage because she was concerned for Nydia. After all, Nydia was about to confront a group of irritating shareholders.
Nydia was amused by Alisonâs reply and felt a warmth spreading within her. She murmured to herself, âIt feels so good to know someone cares about me.â She grinned and reached out to rub Alisonâs head. With a composed smile, she
straightened herself up and walked into the conference room.
