Chapter 10: The Mistake

Send It To My Phone

Krissy's Point of View

I ran into the diner, out of breath. I didn't stop running until I was in the back room. I leaned up against one of the walls and tried to get as much oxygen as possible. I was late to work and there was only one reason why. And, his name is Blake Tyler.

I was about to get into the comfort of my own car, trying to run away from the cold, when he called my name out. I only stopped, feeling my heart begin to thump in my chest. His toned body jogged up to me, smiling, causing my heart rate to skip a beat.

"Hey Krissy, right?" He asked. I nodded. I had to remember I was the nerd and not the sassy girl he was taking out on a date tomorrow night.

"Yeah." I squeaked. That only made his deep chuckle come out. He leaned his head back, his blond hair flying in the wind.

"Is it possible to make reservations at the diner you work at?" He asked. I nodded. Is he doing what I think he's doing.

"Yeah. For when?" I found myself responding.

"Tomorrow night, for two." He said. I widened my eyes. Blake was planning on taking Kate to the diner. I didn't know whether to feel impressed that he's taking me somewhere laid back or annoyed that i'm not worth an expensive meal.

"I'm having a date with this gorgeous girl i've been chasing for months." Blake said. His smile beamed, showing how proud he was about finally scoring a date with Kate.

"That's great." I said showing him a tight lip smile. "I'll make sure you get the best server."

I unlocked my car and threw my bag in. The wind was starting to pick up. It was nearing the end of November. Soon, snow would be falling, covering the streets.

"That better be you. Thanks Kris." Blake said, placing a hand on my shoulder. He smiled before jogging off. I let our a breath the moment he left. My heart started to beat at a normal pace, making me relax. I got into the driver's seat and blasted the hot air. I blew into my hands as the car began to warm up.

I couldn't be his server. There was no possible way to be at two places at once. I was either the waitress or his date. He's going to be disappointed if i'm not his server, yet even more if i'm not his date. What am I supposed to do? I can't be both. It's just not possible. Maybe I can say I don't work that day? No, I need a better excuse. Besides, I have been looking forward to this date with Blake.

After the party, I started to freakout over the news. The Blake Tyler had asked me out and I was going out with him in a couple of days. Then the excitement started to wear off.

I started to second guess myself and starting to doubt his feelings for me. Did Blake actually like me? Or, did he just want to get into my pants. I knew the latter seemed more reasonable, but I still had hope. I wanted the notorious bad boy to have feelings for me. Even if I still had to pretend I was Kate, I could have my somewhat fairy tale ending. I wanted to know what it was like to be in love and have a guy head over heels for me. I just hoped I wasn't wasting my time with him.

"Krissy!" Hanna called out when she noticed my presence. I walked behind the counter and got pulled into a giant hug. "I heard about the date!"

"What?" I asked in confusion. I mean I knew that Hanna knew about me being Kate, but how did she find out about the date so quick. I was going to tell her about it today.

"Hey Kris! I told Hanna about the awesome news." Sophie said coming from the back. I frowned. I hadn't seen her all day and we haven't had the chance to talk about her family predicament.

"You still need to explain." I said. Sophie sighed, dropping her happy mood. Hanna looked at us with confusion. Right, she didn't know.

"I'm sorry I lied." Sophie said. She tucked a piece of hair behind her ear before continuing her story. "I wanted people to like me for me and not for being Blake Tyler's twin sister."

"Wait. No way! You're the famous long lost twin?" Hanna asked. Sophie nodded.

"My mom got into some trouble, making me wish I was still with my dad. I guess God heard my prayers and here I am in Connecticut instead of California." Sophie explained.

"Woah. That's so sad, but i'm glad you're here." I told her. She gave me a small smile before grabbing my hand.

"So missy, I wanna hear everything that happened." Sophie said pulling me away from the counter. The three of us were now in the back. Sally would be fine without us.

"About what?" I asked. Did she know that Blake chased me after school and asked me to be his server? That only happened a couple of minutes ago. Word cannot travel that fast. But then again, I am the nerd and he's the rebel. That kind of news travels faster than light. It's unbelievable what people can do with their phones.

"After I left with Asher, what did you and my brother do?" She asked. I raised an eyebrow. What was she talking about? Nothing happened. Did he say something happened?

"Nothing. We talked and then one of the guys pulled him away. I then asked Morgan if we could leave since the main reason I even went to the party was to find out if Blake liked me." I answered her question. She looked disappointed with the information.

"Nothing else?" She asked. I shook my head.

"Now come on, we have work to do." I said. I walked out of the back room with the two girls in tow. I grabbed an apron and began to prepare the coffee.

I felt bad about not telling her about my little run in with her brother today, but if I mention it, she'll pester me about telling the truth. As much as I wanted Blake to like the real me, I knew it was too soon to even think he'll give the real me a chance. But hopefully one day, Blake will know that i'm truly Krissy and not Kate. I just hope he takes is positively.

Blake's Point of View

I threw the plush ball into the air before catching it. I continued to do it for a couple of minutes. It was semi-distracting me from my endless thoughts as I laid on my bed. I was still confused as to how my twin sister knew the girl I was chasing. It's as if fate brought us together.

Wait. Why the fuck am I getting all sappy? I'm only after this girl to get in her pants. She means nothing and she'll never mean anything. She's just a hot girl with a nice ass.

Then why did I feel like I needed to actually try on this date. Why did I want everything to be perfect. I wanted to wow her and not treat her like any other girl i've dated. I wanted her to really like me. That's why I asked Krissy, I think that was her name, if I could take Kate to the diner for dinner. I knew that going to the diner for dinner was a risky move, but I wanted to show her that not everything is all flashy and expensive when it comes to me. I wanted to show her my true self. It's the only way she'll fall for me.

I'm going to take her to the diner for dinner and then a walk around town. It would be perfect. She'd fall for me and soon enough, i'd move onto the next girl. I just hoped that was true.

I got off my bed and slipped on my shoes. I needed to leave this house. I was starting to get way too paranoid about everything. Why was this causing me to doubt my abilities?

I walked out of my room and down the stairs. I just needed fresh air. Going to the mall would be just what I needed. Besides, there were endless girls just waiting for my attention.

I got into one of my many cars and drove the short 10 minute drive. I parked my car close to the entrance and walked in. I could instantly feel everyone's eyes on me. I smirked. I would never not like this attention. I liked being the center of everyone's world. They just didn't have anything better to do than obsess over me.

"Hey man!" Asher said jogging up to me. I raised my mouth into a smile before meeting him half way. We were standing in front of the water fountain, in the center of the mall.

"Hey Ash." I said. He smiled at me before scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. I gave him a look, causing him to sigh. What was up with him?

"I know you are going to hate me, but I really need to ask you this." He said. I nodded slowly. What was my best friend saying? He was never like this. He always had his cool.

"Asher." I stated. I just wanted to know what he wanted so I could go back to my thinking. Asher nodded before taking a deep breath.

"Can I ask your sister out on a date?" Asher blurted. I raised my eyebrows in surprise. I knew those two had something going on, but I never thought that he would actually ask her out.

"Asher." I said. He began to cough awkwardly. "I think-"

"You know what. Forget it. It's a stupid idea. You sister doesn't even like me like that." He began to ramble. I rolled my eyes. So dramatic.

"Asher!" I shouted. A few people looked over at me. I ignored them. They were always too focused on what I was doing. "You can ask her out."

"Wait? What?" Asher asked full of confusion. I rolled my eyes. I began to walk up to a group of girls when he called out, "Thanks Blake!"

"Yeah man." I said. I turned my back away from him and smirked at the group of girls. They were all looking at me with flirty smiles.

"Hi Blake." A red head said seductively. I smirked.

"Hey babe. Wanna have some fun?" I asked her. She giggled before wrapping an arm around my waist.

"Thought you'd never ask." She whispered. I felt Blake jr. twitch with excitement. "I'll see you guys later."

"Bye ladies." I said. They all smiled at me, while sending glares to their friend. I chuckled. Everyone wanted to be with me.

"My car?" I offered. She nodded. We walked out of the mall together. Everyone stared with envy in their eyes. I unlocked my car and pushed her in. She giggled before pulling me in with her. I made sure to lock my car door before I attached my lips to hers.

Her hands were sliding all over my body, begging for Blake jr. She reached for my pants, unbuckling them. I quickly helped her before attaching my lips to hers again. She then slid off her shorts before pulling my shirt off. Her hands roamed my chest, causing my body to let out a moan. She smirked into the kiss. She began to stroke me, causing me to let go of her lips and focus on what she was doing. I closed my eyes in pure pleasure. She was good at this.

"Damn. Kate." I moaned. I felt her stop what she was doing. I opened my eyes. The red head was glaring at me.

"My name is not Kate!" The girl screamed. I widened my eyes. I said Kate's name again? "Let me out of this car, you jerk!"

I quickly opened the door, letting her slide out. She grabbed her things before slamming the door with as much power as she could muster. I pulled on my shirt and pants. I got into the driver's seat before slamming my head on the steering wheel. I did it again. I said Kate's name while fucking another girl. What has this girl done to me?

-

"I can't do this." I told myself aloud. I was pacing my room back and forth. Why was I nervous about this? This was just a date. I've had plenty of those.

But this wasn't just a date. I was finally taking Kate out. I had been chasing her since September and it was November now. Two months of hard work and I had finally landed my chance with her.

"Blake!" Sophie called out. I opened my door to see her widened her eyes as she took in my appearance.

"Do I look okay?" I asked her. She nodded, letting out a chuckle. I frowned. Why was she laughing at me?

"Are you nervous Blake?" She asked. I shook my head, earning a look from her. I sighed. She was my twin. She could read my like a book.

"Why am I so nervous Soph?" I asked her. I looked in the mirror again. I was wearing dark wash jeans with a light navy shirt. I layered on a light blue jacket and my black leather jacket.

"Blake! You look great! Kri-Kate is going to be all over you." Sophie said. I nodded. She was right. Kate would be all over me. I bet she had been counting down to today. I mean I was. This date was going to be perfect.

"I should go." I said. I grabbed my phone and wallet and stuffed them in my pocket. "I still need to pick her up."

"Actually, she told me she'll meet you here." Sophie said. I stopped in my tracks. She didn't want me to pick her up.

"Why? When did she tell you?" I asked Sophie. She gave me a small smile. She was hiding something from me.

"At school. She said her parents would flip if she saw a guy on a motorcycle pull up to her house." Sophie explained. I nodded. That seemed reasonable. Not all parents like bad boys. Usually I never meet the parents so I never had to deal with that.

"Do I just wait here then?" I asked Sophie. She took out her phone before nodding.

"She said she'll be here in ten minutes." Sophie said before walking out. I nodded. I sat back down on my bed. All my previous thoughts were coming back. Was I making the right move by taking her to the diner tonight? Did she even like diner food? Was she actually going to show up?

This girl was making me go crazy. I didn't like it, yet I kept doing it. I wanted this girl to like me. I just don't understand why I was trying so damn hard. If a girl never liked me, i'd just ignore her and move onto the next one. But here I was, trying with this girl. She just kept pulling me back as if I was in a trance I couldn't get out of.

"Blake! She's here!" I heard Sophie yell. I got off my bed and made sure everything was in the right place. I ran my hand through my blond hair before exiting the room.

I jogged down the stairs to hear her melodic voice. Her laugh was pulling me towards her. I involuntarily smiled at the thought of seeing her again. It had only been a few days since the party, yet I couldn't wait for this. I mean I couldn't have sex with that girl from the mall because this girl was in my head the entire time. I just couldn't forget about her so easily.

I walked into the foyer to see Sophie smiling at me. I gave her a look before she gestured for me to turn to my left. I did.

"Wow." I said seeing the brunette standing there.
