Chapter 71: Kiss Me Initiatively
Dad, Stay Away from My Mom
Marc felt his legs go weak with shock.
The guy next to Melinda was the heir to the Thomas family, the richest folks in Shadow City?
He was relieved he hadn't done anything stupid to offend this big shot. Otherwise, he wouldn't even know what hit him.
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Melinda was busy making pasta for Raymond.
A few minutes later, she had a bowl of fragrant tomato and egg pasta ready. "Mr. Thomas, dinner's ready!"
She carefully carried the bowl to the dining table in the living room. Raymond came out of Sam's room, sat down without a word, and started eating. He didn't even glance at her.
Melinda was speechless.
Raymond was being totally unreasonable. She wasn't his girlfriend, so what was he jealous about? It was ridiculous.
Melinda took Sam for a bath, and after they were done, she cleaned up the dishes.
"You shouldn't hang out with that guy anymore. I'll have Stuart get you a new computer tomorrow, and he'll handle any future repairs."
Melinda thought Raymond wouldn't talk to her all night.
But then she heard his cold voice from behind.
Melinda stood up, raising an eyebrow. Her delicate face shone under the light as she retorted, "Raymond, have you not realized the reality? Who I like and who I hang out with is none of your business."
Raymond just smirked coldly and responded nonchalantly, "Who says it's none of my business? You're my fiancée, and soon you'll be my wife."
Raymond's wife?
Melinda was so infuriated by his arrogance and irrationality that she trembled all over. Just as she was about to say something, Raymond suddenly pressed her against the kitchen sink.
"Melinda, do you know? When someone likes another person, their body gives the most honest answer."
His deep voice whispered in her ear, carrying a dangerous undertone.
Melinda's heart skipped a beat. Even through her clothes, she could feel the heat of his body.
The next second, Raymond's kiss landed.
His kiss was domineering and punishing, making Melinda shiver as a strange sensation spread through her body.
But just as she was getting lost in the kiss, Raymond abruptly pulled away and left the kitchen, heading into Sam's room.
Melinda stood there, stunned. What was Raymond trying to do?
When Melinda composed herself and came out, she saw Raymond lying on the bed, reading a storybook to Sam, who had already fallen asleep with his eyes closed.
Melinda frustratedly patted her head. Raymond always knew how to easily provoke her anger.
He repeatedly broke her limits and patience.
Why could Raymond do whatever he wanted in her space?
It seemed she was too easy to bully, not ruthless enough.
She sat on the couch, her lips tightly pressed together.
But in her mind, she kept replaying the kiss in the kitchen. That kiss made her body yearn.
It felt like being deeply loved.
When Raymond pulled away, she felt incomplete.
Could it be that she was really falling for Raymond?

Melinda shook her head, trying to dismiss the thought.
How could she have feelings for Emily's man?
Emily was her sworn enemy, her arch-nemesis.
She was sure Emily would never give up her man.
Although she had thought countless times about getting back at Emily, stealing Raymond would be the perfect opportunity. But she didn't want to degrade herself, nor did she want to mess up her life.
Sam's presence made Melinda more determined to stick to her principles. She would never do anything that would harm Sam.
Emily's warning still echoed in her ears. The sudden appearance of that man was likely due to Emily's tip-off.
Melinda felt a wave of fear. If that man really showed up in front of Sam, how would Sam face a stranger and shameless father?
Melinda's heart was filled with struggle and worry. She feared the man's appearance but couldn't escape his entanglement.
At that moment, she heard the sound of a door closing.
She turned to see Raymond coming out of Sam's room. Melinda took a deep breath and mustered the courage to say to Raymond, "Mr. Thomas, why waste your time on me? There are plenty of women in Shadow City who could be your wife, but not me. I'm a single mom, and it wouldn't be good for the Thomas Group's reputation."
Raymond listened to Melinda's earnest words, but a surge of inexplicable anger rose
within him.
Melinda was so determined to draw a line between them! He stared intently into Melinda's eyes, trying to discern something from her gaze.
However, Melinda's eyes were firm and resolute, without a hint of wavering.
Raymond took a deep breath, trying to calm his emotions.
He lazily leaned back on the couch, slightly raising his chin, revealing his perfect jawline.

He stared into Melinda's eyes and said, "Fine, but I have one condition." Melinda was slightly taken aback, looking at Raymond in confusion. "What condition?" "Kiss me once." Raymond's eyebrows raised slightly, his deep eyes sparkling. Melinda was startled by Raymond's request and blurted out, "No way!" How could Raymond make such an outrageous demand?
She glared at Raymond, trying to express her displeasure and refusal with her eyes. Raymond didn't seem to insist. He stood up, his tone carrying a hint of finality, "If that's the case, then we'll continue this ambiguous relationship."
Melinda panicked upon hearing this. She quickly stood up and blocked his way, "Wait." "It's just you who doesn't want to."
Raymond's face darkened slightly. He glanced at Melinda, his tone revealing a hint of displeasure.
"If I... if I kiss you, will you really stop interfering in my life?"
Various thoughts flashed through Melinda's mind. She bit her lip and mustered the courage to ask.
Raymond's lips curved into a seductive smile. He nodded, "I keep my word."
Melinda's face turned bright red. She bit her lip, struggling internally.
Kissing him would mean they could go back to being strangers; not kissing him would mean their lives would continue to be entangled.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her embarrassment and nervousness, finally making up her mind. "Fine, but you have to keep your promise."
Raymond's expression grew even darker. He coldly glanced at Melinda, "You have five seconds. If you don't kiss me within five seconds, it doesn't count."
Melinda panicked upon hearing this. She looked up at Raymond, realizing his height
made it impossible for her to kiss him easily.
She quickly pushed him, "Let's go to my room."
