Chapter 802 Jesse, You’re Going to Turn Ugly

“At first I thought there was surveillance in the room Molly and I were staying in, but then I realized there wasn’t, which means he didn’t want to spy on us and was less wary of Molly and I noticing the watch.”

“You’re kids after all, the average adult doesn’t think that much.”

“He’s got a lot of people under his thumb, a lot of powerful ones, and it certainly wouldn’t do him any good to play hardball.”

Tavish analyzed sensibly, these were all things he had observed and found around Alex.

“His health is really bad, he often needs to be a wheelchair, and when he coughs it’s hard to stop.”

That was all he knew, after all, he’d only been there for three days, and even though he’d been out and about, there wasn’t much of value.

“Well, you guys have worked hard for a few days out there, take a good rest tonight, and tomorrow I’ll take you to see your grandparents, they’re worried about you.”

“Good.”

After watching them sleep, Nydia and Jesse went back to their bedroom.

“Mr. Pascall, what do you think?” Nydia sat on the bed and looked over at Jesse.

“I suspect he has a lab set up over here.”

“Hmm? How?”

“Tavish said he’s in poor health then, not fit to toss and turn, and if there’s no corresponding supporting lab over here, he’ll have to fly back and forth and won’t be able to afford it.”

“If there’s a lab over here, I’m guessing they started getting it many years ago, and it would be to our advantage if we could find out exactly where it is.”

Nydia thought for a moment before saying, “He started out with the intention of getting you, so he used the child as a trade, does that mean that you’re useful to him? He’s not going to use you as a guinea pig, is he?”

“It’s a possibility, otherwise he wouldn’t need to go to such lengths.”

If Alex wanted to get at him, there were ways to do it, no need to be so circuitous at all, so Alex was doing this for no other reason than he didn’t want him to get hurt, and what he needed was his sound body.

“You two are related by blood, the genetic permutations will be similar, he’s probably experimented with quite a few people before, and you’re probably his last subject.”

“After he saw my legs recovered, he thought he could try using traditional medicine, if he could cure him, he wouldn’t have to take the risk, and the way he reacted just now, he obviously didn’t want to try.”

The two discussed the outcome, which was a creepy one.

There’s absolutely no telling what Jesse would have become if he’d been captured and experimented on.

The association with Willette and Pippa made her feel uneasy.

“Don’t worry for now, now that we know what he’s up to then we’ll try to avoid it.”

“If we can’t avoid it …”

“Maybe I’ll become more handsome and stronger.”

Hearing him say this, Nydia was so furious that she couldn’t help but kick him, “Jesse, you’re still in the mood for jokes when it comes to this? If you do the experiment, I’m afraid you’re going to turn ugly!”

“Ugly with weird lines all over your face and all kinds of veins popping out.”

“Can’t you look forward to something good?”

“Look at Cade!”

“Obscure, how can you compare me to Cade!” Jesse disgruntled.

Nydia was instantly more angry, “Is that the point?!”

“Okay, don’t be mad, just let’s be more careful next.” He put his arm around Nydia, “In case he’s willing to change his mind, it’s all good for us.”

“You think he’ll change his mind?” Nydia found it unlikely.

How could a person who had been sticking to something for decades give up so easily?

“Don’t think about it for now, I’ll arrange it.”

Jesse thought it would be hard for them to think too much instead, and since Alex wouldn’t do what they wanted, it was better not to think so much.

The next day Jesse’s family of four went to the old mansion and Rosalind was out of the hospital.

“It’s good to be back, it’s good to be back! None of them are hurt, right? Great.” Rosalind cried and laughed as she stroked the faces of her two children.

“Grandma, we got you into trouble, are you alright?” Molly looked at the weak Rosalind heartily.

“Grandma is fine, really fine, in a while grandma can eat two bowls of rice!” Rosalind wiped away her tears and said with a smile.

“Then let’s race!”

“Jesse, what the hell is going on? How much did the kidnappers ask for?”

At this point they didn’t realize the kidnapper was Alex and thought it was just a normal kidnapper.

“Mom, the guy who took you guys, it was Alex.”

“What?” Rosalind subconsciously raised her voice, she was really shocked and startled Molly and Tavish, “I’m sorry, grandma is too loud.”

Jesse then told the whole story and Andrew’s face became very grave and Rosalind was upset and angry.

When Jesse was in the accident, she hated Alex, but it turned out that he ran away, once he ran away for so many years.

“Call the police to arrest him, back then he did something like that, the evidence is solid, arrest him, he will go to jail.”

“Mom, it’s not that simple.”

“Dad and I will handle this matter, you first rest in peace, don’t act without authorization or you will add to the chaos.”

It had to be said that way to stop Rosalind’s behavior, otherwise he was genuinely worried that Rosalind would mess up.

“I know, I’m not that stupid, and after this I know he’s a ruthless man.”

Everyone was in a lower mood after the mention of Alex.

Jesse and Andrew went to the den to talk things over while Nydia sat with Rosalind.

“You need to be careful with your big belly, don’t get into trouble, stay home if you’re fine, don’t run outside.” Rosalind admonished.

“Well, I know, I will be careful.”

“Your stomach … is so big? Is it about to give birth?” Rosalind noticed that her stomach was a bit abnormally large.

“No, it’s still over five months away because I’m pregnant with my twin brother.”

Rosalind was stunned, “What kind of body do you have that you get pregnant with two at a time?”

“I don’t know about this …, probably trying to make it easier for me, having four kids in two births.”

“Two brothers, but none of the boys in our family are very rowdy, like Molly and Tavish, Molly is a little rowdy.”

If it was a normal family, if there were three boys in the family, they would probably make a scene.

“You recently ah, learn more about unexpected births, so that even if something urgent happens, you won’t panic too much.” Rosalind admonished, and then it would be best to follow a girl around who can protect you, and ask Jesse to find a female bodyguard to live with you, preferably one who knows something about obstetrics and gynecology and first aid.

Listening to these words from Rosalind, Nydia couldn’t help but be a little touched that she and Rosalind were on the same side for the first time.

“You, you don’t have to do this, I’m just worried about my grandchildren.” Rosalind wasn’t used to Nydia looking at her like that.

“Well, thanks mom.” Jesse’s arrogance was supposedly inherited from Rosalind.

“Usually pack more practical things in your bag.”

She said everything she could think of, “I almost forgot, you’re a doctor yourself, you should be fine.”

“Some of what you said I hadn’t thought of either.”

“Hmm.” Rosalind nodded.

Those who became mothers always wanted their children to be well, and were willing to do whatever it took to protect them, and in that, she and Nydia reached reconciliation.

As for the other emotions, they would come later.

She didn’t really hate Nydia that much now, she just wasn’t used to being friendly yet.
