Chapter 34

33. Contemplating!

Dark Temptation!

Author's POV

"Don't tell anyone about this. Sisters will not allow me to continue."

Arabella requested Julie who was sitting worriedly in front of her.

"But this is serious."

She couldn't see her in that condition.

"You can't even walk properly."

"Pain is almost gone. I'll manage."

Arabella covered her knees with her long skirt.

"And they saved you?"

Julie was still shocked.

"I am telling you, they like___"

"Enough, Julie... I don't want to talk about them, please."

Arabella got up madly, she looked disturbed and bothered.

Julie shrugged when she walked away.

"What happened to her?"

Arabella stood under the shower. Whatever happened yesterday was flashing in front of her eyes.

The way Arthur jumped without a second thought to save her. Brothers were having arguments still Oliver rushed to save his brother after making sure that she is safe.

The way they came together to treat her and how she ended up waking up between them. Everything was absurd.

Julie's words were running in her mind.

Why would any employer do so much for the employee, that too who holds very weak job designation?

Why would they show so much interest in her?

Making her eat with them and always roaming around her,

What does this mean?

She is still contemplating if she is thinking too much about the situation or its just normal thing for them. What is the truth because she doesn't want to embarrass herself later, by expecting something else.

And the most important thing is, why both of them would act the same?

After shower, she sat at the garden under gentle sunlight to dry her hair.

"What are you doing here? Everyone is there in the workshop."

Jenny asked while standing in front of her with crossed hands.

Arabella looked at her, the girl is always in attitude and swag.

"I am not attending it."

"So you still want to be sweeper after few weeks? You are turning eighteen. You know that, right?"

She mocked.

Arabella sighed and looked away, resting her head on her knees.

Jenny sat beside her.

"Are you in Knight fever?"

Arabella frowned at her.

"What do you mean?"

Jenny smiled bitterly.

"The extraordinary charm, alluring personality and masculine talks. Knights must be really god's favourite to grace them with everything."

"Have you worked for them too?"

Arabella was now alert.

Jenny nodded.

"Not for Oliver and Arthur knight. I used to help Cami with gardening when I was sixteen. That time one of cousins of Oliver and Arthur was staying there for some deal. The charming and handsome man. He was kind to me, would ask me for meals together and would reward me with tips. I thought he likes me, teenage harmones!..."

She sounded embarrassed.

"But I was so wrong. He was nice to me because he thought I am just a kid and an orphan. It was my misunderstanding that he likes me."

Arabella was listening to her attentively.

"So if you think that they like you then it might be your misunderstanding. Don't fool yourself. I kind of figured out that Knights are not typical criminals, they are good with good people and bad with bad people."

"Why are you telling me this?"

Arabella questioned.

"You don't like me!"

Jenny got up with scoff.

"Babe, I don't even notice you to not like you... I am just telling you this because you are not smart like me to figure this out by yourself. So take the help and thank me later. And stop being a shy dove, world will eat you alive once you step out of the orphanage."

"Thank you, Jenny... I'll figure it out."

She smiled at her.

"You are not bad the way people think about you."

"Fuck, people. Who cares?..."

She shrugged and walked away.

Arabella sighed in relief.

"I was overthinking."

She got up and attended the workshop.

"What are we going to do after turning eighteen, Julie?"

Arabella questioned while making notes.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you..."

Julie grabbed green prints from her pockets and placed in front of her.

"I won't be amused if you make your death certificate on green papers."

Arabella shook her head and opened the papers.

"Scholarship?"

She looked at her confused.

"Remember the exam we gave last week?"

She asked and Arabella nodded.

"We passed it... You are smart, your numbers are good. University has approved our scholarship approval and thanks to our charitable trust's connection, our hostel expenses are also covered in it so we can study there without any issues."

"You are so smart, Julie."

Arabella smiled.

"God, I was so worried about the future."

She hugged her happily.

"I love you!"

Julie laughed and hugged her back.

"I am smart, what did you think about me?"

"Nothing!"

She giggled.

"So start preparing because we will be leaving in few weeks... You have to inform Knight brothers and leave the job."

Julie placed the papers back in her pockets.

"Matilda is recovering and will be back in few days so you don't have to do that job anymore."

Arabella's smile fade.

"Leave the job?"

Her heart sank with the feeling and she has no idea why.

"You don't look happy?"

Julie teased.

"It's not like that..."

She forced a smile.

"I'll be back."

Excusing herself she walked away from her. The hollowness started taking over. Few minutes ago she was bothered by thinking that they are interested in her and now she is getting the same feeling when she thinks about going away from them. Her heart never felt so confused.

The heart felt restless for the rest of day. Julie had already started packing her stuff one by one.

"Aren't you packing your stuff?"

Arabella got up and stood by the window.

"I hardly have any stuff... I'll pack it later."

"Okay, let's go down... It's Friday night and everyone is going to watch movie together..."

Julie placed her bag in the corner.

"No, I want to sleep now... You go, enjoy!"

She wanted to stay alone.

Julie didn't pressurized her as she already looked low.

"Okay. Good night!"

"Good night!"

Arabella sat on her bed as Julie closed the door.

She switched off the lights and laid on the bed. Her eyes started drooping but she suddenly felt someone's presence in the room.

Her eyes snapped open and saw a silhouette. Before she could scream, a large hand clasped her mouth.
