Chapter 35

34. Confession?

Dark Temptation!

Author's POV

"Shhh!... It's me, Kitten..."

Oliver removed his hand from her mouth when she recognised him and calmed down.

She quickly got up and switched on the lights.

"Sir, what are you doing here?"

She looked flabbergasted.

Oliver smiled while sitting beside her.

"I wanted to check on you..."

Her eyes widened.

"Like this?"

She looked around confused.

"How did you get in? Outsiders are not allowed in orphanage late night."

She saw the open window and gasped.

"Oh my god! Did you come inside from the window? How is this possible?"

Oliver smirked and jerked her forward by her arms, making her gasp and freeze.

"I am not a good boy, Kitten... I do bad things and breaking into house is one of them."

She gulped as his lips came too close to her. His minty breath fanned her face and blue eyes made her feel something surf in her stomach.

"I can climb mountains to check on you, two floors are nothing..."

She was still deciding how to feel about it. Everything was chaotic in her mind.

"Check on me?"

She mumbled and her heart fluttered when his deep breath blew her face gently. It's was like he is taking her essence in.

"How are you?"

He controlled his desires. At this moment he wants nothing but to kiss the life out of her. But he have to wait for it.

"Fine!"

Her breathing turned shaky with his proximity.

He forced himself to let her go and she fixed her dress nervously.

"Let me check."

He lifted her dress a little up to check her knees.

"Hmm... It's not infected."

Arabella was watching his face closely. His hair were falling on his forehead, jaw was set into thin line and eyes were focused on her knees.

She was lost in his beauty.

"You are beautiful!"

She mumbled without realising it.

Oliver's eyes snapped towards her, he was processing what she just said.

"What?"

He wanted to make sure if he heard it right because it sounded spellbound and exciting.

Her face filled with embarrassment and she shook her head.

"Nothing. Excuse me!"

Oliver tried to stop her but she rushed towards the washroom and locked herself in.

He smiled recalling her words.

"Kitten, come out!"

He knocked on the door but she didn't answer.

"Okay, take your time to process... I have kept something for you on the bed. Get well soon and come back, I am missing you. And I am sorry for making you uncomfortable the other day. I promise I'll never do anything which you don't like."

Arabella heard the sound of his footsteps fading and she peeped out. She never felt so embarrassed before and she wasn't expecting him to apologise either. Her face was on fire and she was feeling like a turmoil of emotions. No one has ever left her in the puddle of this butterfly feeling.

Her eyes fell on the bed and she saw chocolates.

Her face filled with smile when she grabbed them. It was so sweet of him.

The night went by with his thoughts.

Next morning she was sitting at the lawn of Orphanage, busy reading a university magzine which Julie gave her.

"Boring, why do humans even study these things?"

She tossed the magazine away.

"What made you bore like that?"

She looked up and saw Arthur, he was standing in front of her with huge fruit basket.

"Chief?"

She was about to get up.

"Sit! No need to stand. You are injured."

He placed the basket on the table in front of her and sat beside her.

"Are you cold?"

He asked, looking at the blanket she had on her legs.

"Not really but it's comfortable."

She looked at the fingers she was fiddling in her lap.

"Are you mad at me?"

He questioned and she just shook her head, still not looking at him.

"I am sorry, Dove... I shouldn't have cross limits..."

Her lips turned into small smile when he apologized. She wasn't expecting Knight brothers to acknowledge their mistake and apologise but they did and both did it in their style.

Oliver broke into her room just like his stormy personality and Arthur as usual came in his disciplined way. He is too disciplined to call him a criminal.

"It's okay!"

She finally looked at him.

He smiled when he finally saw her blue eyes.

"I have some fruits for you... You need to eat healthy, is this enough or I should bring more?"

"These are enough for the whole orphanage."

She laughed cutely, looking at the huge basket.

"I am sorry that you felt uncomfortable because of me. I promise that I'll never do the thing which will hurt you."

He caressed her head and she blushed.

"When are you coming back to work?"

He asked while picking up the magazine.

"Tomorrow!"

She answered.

"I can walk now so I can rejoin."

"Good..."

Arthur shuffled through pages and his eyebrows slowly curled into frown.

"University?"

Arabella cleared her throat nervously.

"We have to leave the orphanage once we turn eighteen. Julie and I will go to the university for further education. We got a scholarship."

"It means you will leave the job!"

His heart sank at the thought of not able to see her daily.

"I was going to inform you tomorrow..."

She replied, looking at his sad face.

"Is it necessary for you to go?"

He tossed the magazine away like it's something unworthy.

She chuckled nervously, trying avoid awkward conversation.

"Chief, it's about my future."

He took a deep breath, wasn't feeling convinced.

"What if you get something more important than university admission?"

His voice was gentle but he sounded desperate. It was clear that he doesn't want her to go away from him.

"Like what?"

She asked confused. Right now she doesn't have anything else which would look more important than this.

"Dove"

He leaned closer and kissed her head making her heart race.

"Will you become mine?.."

Her eyes widened in shock when he said that.
